I'm trying to get my plans finalized and ADR's completed. I've done pretty good so far. I got most of my 1st choice ADR's and the rest were my 2nd choice. I can't get the HDDR for the night I want or the 2nd choice night. I have called 5 times and the first 4 times they told me that they had a system problem that would not allow booking for that night and one other night. Now today they tell me that the day I want is totally booked up. :confused3

Anyway, here's the help I'm looking for. We are staying 9 nights Aug 29 - Sept 7. We will only be going to Epcot once and DHS once. We will also be going to MNSSHP on Sept 4. Those are the only days we will spend in the parks, this is an R&R trip. I want to spread out the fun things we have planned so that it's not all at one end of the trip or the other. Give me a suggestion for when to go to Epcot, DHS and HDDR. The MNSSHP night is not flexible.

I need a new plan to try and get the last couple of ADRs that I want. I can't seam to figure out how to flip my days around to give me another chance at getting the HDDR and I couldn't get Teppen Edo on the day I thought we would go to Epcot. These 2 places are high on our want list.

Thanks...:yay: :flower3: You guys rock!!!

Uh... so many abbreviations... hard for newbies to understand. :)

Let me help you out...

MNSSHP=Mickey's not so scary Halloween party
DHS=Disney Hollywood studios
HDDR=Hop Dee Doo Review
ADR=Advance Dining Reservations

Well, that sounds like fun. Can I play? ;)

According to TouringPlans, the M/W/F will be "5"s and Tu Th 7's, so if you put any stock in that, I'd say avoid the parks Tu/Th. You'll already be in MK on Friday for the NSSHP. I'd suggest Mon for DHS and Wed for Epcot. Did you try Tues for HHDR? TP also says the weekend will be decent crowd-wise, maybe b/c Labour Day is a week late this year.

I'd say just call and try to get one or both of those coveted ADRs and go from there...but generally, I like the idea of one big thing per day, park, party, or the HDDR. Are you shopping? Nice to have a day in there for shopping, and I don't know if weekdays or weekends are better. (You'd think NOT weekends, but then how much do locals really go to those outlet places we Canucks love?)

Probably not much help, but it's fun trying. :goodvibes

I called last night after 9pm and got a pretty good CM....he had some personality. With ease I got the HDDR for Sept 6 which was the night we wanted. What was strange was that the day before when I called they said all the shows for that day were sold out (including luau). This time the CM said that all the shows were available. I guess they released more seats.

Also, I was able to change my Tony's ADR to CP. Tony's was my back up choice and CP my #1 for the MNSSHP night. All I need now is Teppan Edo and I will have everything I wanted.

Too funny....I had planned to go to Epcot and DHS on Monday and Wednesday. The best can get is Teppan Edo on Wednesday at 8:15pm which is just to late for us. We have decided to get a spot to watch lluminations. We have never fully seen it.

I'll have to keep calling....I'm only one ADR away from getting exactly what I had planned for. Not bad eh? In the past I've never been able to get more than half of the desired ADR's and that's booking at about the 5 month mark.

Sorry, going to WDW for 9 nights and only spending a few days in the parks? There is nothing I can do to help you except to say: forget the R&R. Disney is not for relaxing.

We have been numerous times, so there is not a lot that we feel the NEEEED to do. We go every year once and sometimes twice. Last year we were there for 2 weeks and spent 11 days at the theme parks and waterparks. After you have been a few times it becomes very easy to relax there. The beautiful resorts and restaurants. The happy, helpful staff. Great weather and as much or as little as you want to do.

This year we were not even planning a trip. Then my brother passed away and to try and make me feel better my DH suggested taking a trip. He really doesn't love the world the way the I do but he told me to book anything that would make me happy. It might possibly be the one place that I never think about my work or family stresses. There is just a special feeling that I don't get when I go to other places.

My DD11 and DD9 will be there from Aug 28 to Sep 5. Maybe we'll bump into each other. I was planning on going to to Mickey's Not So Scary Holloween Party, but I haven't purchased tickets yet.

When we went in Feb this year we actually went with a few unfilled dining reservations since we added the dining plan at the last minute and places were booked.

The best advice I got from a CM was to call multiple times a day. Luckily, we have unlimited calling to the States so I called whenever I happened to have a minute (I am home with the kids), but still did not get everything lined up until we were actually at CBR. I also had better luck with the phone than the desk at the hotel as the hotel had a line.

One other bit of info is that for reservations that require 24 hour cancellation open up right about that time as people cancel as late as possible not to be charged. That is how we got Breakfast with the princesses in EPCOT while on the trip!

Good luck and have a great time!

I did manage to get HDDR for the night I wanted. I didn't even bother to ask which category. I don't really care we just really want to do it. It's not something we would pay OOP for so I'm just glad we get a chance to go.

As of now I got all the ADR's that we wanted with one exception. Pretty good I say.....since it's gone online now I just keep checking as many times a day as possible. If it doesn't come up, it will get added to the list for next time.

Glad you got your ADR's, Teppan Edo too? I was going to say, the on-line ADR is up. What about AK? It's one of our fav. parks.
You will be arriving as we are leaving :eeyore: The one looking very forlorn on the DME bus would be me!

Be sure to try out the new online ADR booking page. I played with it this weekend, and it is SLICK! I even got Le Cellier for 2 different times within the week that I was going (1 lunch, 1 dinner), BUT didn't take it since I had previously booked Coral Reef and we've never eaten there. I DID book a couple of Sci-Fi lunch times for a quick shake. :drinking1 You can access the dining HERE Have fun!

I second the online reservation system -- we were able to switch stuff around for the same week and get Teppan Edo AND Le Cellier. We had both booked previously, but Le Cellier was an 8 pm reservation -- hard with a 2 year old!

I just called this afternoon and cancelled the old Teppan Edo reservation we had...for 3 people on Aug 31...so maybe try calling again...

HTH!

I have been going online since the day they fired it up. In fact, I've been on at least 3 times a day....today I think I'm up to 6 times :rotfl:

I just looked for your Teppan and I'm guessing it was for 5:30....that's the only thing that is showing up....too bad it's for 3 ....I need 4. Any place else I would book the 3 and show up with 4 but not there.

That would be it! Too bad you're a foursome! Good luck -- I'm sure something will come up! People will start cancelling and switch soon now that park hours are out etc...
