I need a challenge

Okay.... I organized some scraps (printed, solid, and disney themed), packed them up along with some black and white cs for backing, and my Xyron and hauled it all to the ski mountain. I completed two 12 x 12 sheets while I waited for the kids. One was mostly pink and white printed paper to use on some "girly" pages. The other was mostly red and blue disney paper. Both of the sheets look great. I can't wait to cut them up and use them on a page (or two or three!). I found it easier to run the larger scraps through the Xyron and THEN tear them up. It was a pain to run the little torn up pieces through the machine and I think it wasted adhesive.

I was at work this morning and they sent me home (they overbooked the substitute teachers), so I am considering this a "found" day and will be scrapping until I have to get DD from the bus at 2:45 pm (that is, if I can pull myself away from the Dis!)........................P

Sounds like I need a xyron if CM tape runner wouldn't be good enough

I have made some of these for swaps before. I really like the way they have turned out but never thought of making them for myself or making letters or borders. Just thinging recently what I could do with all my scraps again. Thanks for the thread Buffy.

Just a quick update on this topic. DD (11) is always wanting to "help" me with my scrapping. So I gave her some scraps and my Xyron and let her make me some serendipity squares and a tag to match the page I was working on. I used the tag to put my title on, then I used three 1" squares mounted on solid card stock to accent the left page and three 1/2" square unmounted on the right page. It looks great and she is so proud of having helped create her page! I still haven't cut up the original two sheets of serendipity I made, but I do have plans for them...................P

I did some yesterday and used a glue pen (and got sticky fingers!) Some of my pieces were small, some were odd shapes (I'm not good at tearing) but I was really pleased with the end result. I did a mixture of blue shades, some plain some patterned, and mounted some up on primrose cardstock and the few left over on a bright orange and they look Gooooood!:cool1:

I did fin (because I glued the backing cardstock not the pieces) bits did fall off when I cut up the sheet, but I stuck them back with tape runner. And I found the sheet a bit bulky for my 12" CM trimmer - I cut the squares etc. with scissors, but i wanted the mounted pieces cut good and straight and I did find it a bit of a struggle.

Still, first set done, now I have to use them up :rolleyes1

I still have to try these. Maybe I'll make some at Lisa's crop next month. Although DH is out of town this week so there might be time to play. I have to get my swaps done first though.
