I need a "car service for dummies" book.

@jo-jo you may want to contact one of the town car services to see if they have the ability (probably for a fee) to assist you with your luggage. I'm not sure they can leave their vehicles like that, but it might be an option.

MCO does appear to have SkyCaps at least according to their Accessibility page, I would want to verify it before arriving though.

One more question , but maybe not the last. Our return flight is 12:40 pm. Do they tell you when they pick you up or do you request a time?

For Tiffany: you put your flight info into the reservation form, they pick you up 2 hours before. We always prefer a little extra leeway, so I just enter the time of our flight about 20 minutes before it actually is.

yes, we are flying SW.

So you're saying we would still need to carry luggage a long distance. That seems to be opposite what others are saying. They make it sound like get bags, on same level walk out door , get in car.

We used Tiffany again yesterday. We arrived on SW last Thursday & returned last evening. Same procedure we have used for other trips this year. I received a text the day before our trip with the driver’s name & photo. Got a text from the driver as we got off the plane. Literally right outside SW‘s luggage carousels is the ride share/ passenger pick up area. There are about 8-10 doors, each with a number. Each time we just walked to the closest door which is only a few yards from the carousel. Twice the driver texted us the door number which was the same as our luggage carousel number & right at that carousel. This time, we just went out the closest door & texted him what number area we were at. The driver absolutely puts your bags into & out of the vehicle himself. Same for return trip. The driver meets you right outside the lobby, puts the luggage into & out of the vehicle. On return trip, they drop you at the SW check in doors. Again, just a few yards to walk. No elevators, escalators or stairs to deal with.

edit to add: the current pick up procedure actually entails less walking than it did when the driver met us at the escalator. Then he assisted us with luggage but we had to walk to & go down the escalator; walk across the hallway & out to the car which was parked in a pickup drive… sometimes right there & sometimes a few cars away. This is less walking than just getting to the escalator before.

Thank you all for the information.

Is there anything else I'm missing?

Have you flown SW recently? They have kiosks where you get your boarding pass & print a luggage label. You put the label on the luggage yourself & then go to the counter to show your ID & drop the bags off. Very easy & quick. We don’t do curbside check in, so I can’t say for sure, but I’m pretty sure that is available. If you prefer that, just ask the driver to stop near one of those counters.

Yes, we flew SW in April, We used the kiosk, complete comedy of errors. Took both of us to figure it out. LOL I will be thrilled if curbside checkin is back in service.

We started using curbside about 5 years ago. We got to the point of the stand, shuffle, move luggage, and repeat, repeat, repeat................................repeat, was not the way to start a trip. Hmmm that was about the same time, DH started using wheelchair at disney. Added reason to use curbside.
