I miss Pete

We are trying to keep the show fresh and vibrant.

Like Walt said about Disneyland (I'm paraphrasing here)...it will never be done.

Pete does make an appearance in this week's email show and gives some hints about things that may be coming in the near future.

We talked about these new things after the show was done recording and the changes could be VERY exciting.

Exciting is good...but it does mean more change.

I will give you a hint.......next week's show will be different yet again....and not only a new host.

Here's hoping you will give all of the new changes a chance.:thumbsup2

:thumbsup2 No worries from me. I'll definately give it a chance and I'm not going anywhere! Like I said in my previous post, things may not be as slick now, but with a few turns in the chair and a few tweeks I'm sure it'll come together.

I miss Pete too but I'm also not completely opposed to the rotating schedule. I'm happy to hear different perspectives/plans which keeps it fresh and keeps the listeners engaged :)

However, I have a small suggestion ...

I think the thing I miss the most is hearing Pete's laugh! How 'bout this ... someone make a sound byte of Pete's laugh (maybe from the "Moe-G-Toe" show) and play it occassionally ... at the right times. I think it would be hysterical to insert it JUST AFTER the podteam finishes a good laugh. Ya know, wait until that moment when everyone is done with their post-laugh sigh, and throw a Pete guffaw in there. Whatdya say? :thumbsup2

Once everyone gets their feet wet and use to the idea, things will feel like "Pete who?" :)

:sad2: not here :sad2:

I don't mind change or the new format, I just miss Pete's perspective, humor and honesty. The team's doing a great job without Pete but I just miss his style as a contributor.

cheers,
:flower3:

I feel like 3 shows isn't enough to decide that people don't like the new format. It's definitely something to get used to, and I'm glad that Pete decided to step down and let the Team work on changing things up a bit. The show is changing and growing and figuring out what works and what doesn't. I love Pete, but I'm also very happy with the new format.

I'm reserving my thoughts on the rotating host until everyone has a few turns in the seat. I'm sure things will run smoother once folks get their hosting feet good and wet. :goodvibes I do miss Pete.

Aside from missing all the "Pete-things" that previous posters have mentioned, I miss his intense knowledge of the Disney company and of Disney history. He always gives insight to the news stories, and that is one of the things I miss the most.

Love the Podcast - Love the Team. Keep up the FANTASTIC work, guys! :thumbsup2

I'm not trying to pass judgement on the show after only a couple of shows. I just miss Pete.

I still miss Bob though too.

I was just thinking the same thing this morning.
I miss Pete.
I do appreciate that he is staying away at thestart of the format to give the other team members a chance to be not "in his shadow".

I am enjoying the revolving hosts.
But I am eager to hear Pete's voice again!

i will give it to the guest hosts............it takes a lot of stones to do your new song and dance:dance3: in front of a room full of critics...........................

I miss Pete too, but I have to chuckle to myself about something. Remember in much earlier shows, maybe a year or so ago when Pete used to say that Walter was never that interested in Disney to actually be on the show. I absolutely love having Walter on the show, don't get me wrong, but now we have Walter and not Pete. Things are always changing at the DIS Unplugged and I can't wait to hear what those changes might be.

Me too! I miss Pete! He's the "Simon Cowell" of the show!

Having said that, I still enjoy the show!

I agree with a previous poster who said that he misses Pete's Jerzy-esque style. I definitely miss hearing Pete each week. I loved his spunk! ;)

With that said, I am having fun with the new format and hosts of the show. It does freshen things up quite a bit. I'm excited for the new changes.

I am enjoying the rotating hosts. I still hear all the familiar voices and everyone still makes me laugh and brighten my day. I laughed so hard last week when Kevin added at the end of the podcast "now go and swim in the lakes." I was on the floor rolling with laughter. :)

Keep up with the great job everyone. Looking forward to listening to you all this year.

p.s. I hope you are feeling better Teresa. :)

Like others, I expect that once everyone gets settled into the idea of hosting, whatever wrinkles there might be will disappear.

What I want to know is, who on the team is the new Designated Ranter? Someone's got to pick up the slack now that Pete isn't on regularly!

I like the new format. It isn't that I didn't like the old one but after a while everything needs to be refreshed (or re-imagineered). I am glad this last refresh wasn't brought on by something as sad or drastic as the last one.

I love change. If it weren't for change we would all still be cowering in the corner of a cave somewhere afraid of fire.

I miss Pete as well but I also enjoy the alternating hosts. The whole podcast crew is so great that I don't think the show suffers too much without Pete. If it was my decision I'd probably make Pete be part of the podcast every week in some way and every once in awhile he could host. It's going to be interesting when he comes back because I know he sounded quite excited about his future ventures.

I haven't listened to this week's e-mail show yet, but I too found myself hoping Pete would be on shortly... glad he's making an appearance. ;) Which isn't to say I don't enjoy the podcast without him at all, I'm just hoping to hear more of him. I'm curious to know if he's just enjoying some time off, or if he's busy with other endeavors.

I thought Julie did an excellent job this week. Best hosting job yet IMO.:goodvibes

Change is always interesting--I am actually liking the new host every week. I think that it will make each member stronger and that will just make the show better and better. Their personalities have always made the show the best and I am glad to get to 'know' each of them better.
I loved Pete hosting but I am excited that he gets to focus on different things too. :thumbsup2

Pete makes an appearance in this week's email show.

During his short appearance...he hints at changes coming to the Podcast and how the changes could "scare" some of the podcasters.

The Dis Unplugged will continue to evolve and...most hopefully...improve.

You never know what's around the corner. Heck.....we never know whats around the corner.

All I can ask is that you please be patient with us while we develope new things.

Thanks,
Kevin
