I miss Pete

I think we are forgetting that Pete was gone for several weeks (or was it longer) fall of 2008. We managed without his voice then. And still welcomed him back.

I say, whatever changes, bring 'em on!

Pete makes an appearance in this week's email show.

During his short appearance...he hints at changes coming to the Podcast and how the changes could "scare" some of the podcasters.

The Dis Unplugged will continue to evolve and...most hopefully...improve.

You never know what's around the corner. Heck.....we never know whats around the corner.

All I can ask is that you please be patient with us while we develope new things.

Thanks,
Kevin

Maybe :scratchin  the new format will be a video format and we'll all get to not only listen but watch too. At least that will make it easier for us when the team is opening gifts - visual aides ;)

I like the new format. It isn't that I didn't like the old one but after a while everything needs to be refreshed (or re-imagineered). I am glad this last refresh wasn't brought on by something as sad or drastic as the last one.

I love change. If it weren't for change we would all still be cowering in the corner of a cave somewhere afraid of fire.

Ditto:thumbsup2 couldn't say it better!

I really love the people I've gotten to know on the podcast; all of them. I love the bouquet of personalities.

I think that's what I miss most about Pete, he was really, really unique in his personality and presence. No one else rants, which is something I loved the most about the podcast. We need someone who gets his/her ire up a bit and holds Disney to the fire when they need to be.

I have lived in Minnesota (read: calm and boring) all my life, so getting to hear a fiery New York take on things was such a treat. =)

Listening to this weeks podcast and Julie is doing an excellent job at hosting. I loved her intro.

I agree with some of the previous posters that I miss Pete's voice, personality, and viewpoints (ok, rants...), but I think the rest of the team is doing a great job.

I like the rotating hosts. It's nice to hear the different voices and inflections each week. Loved this week's emphasis on This in the intro (as Corey said, American Idol style). It made me smile.

Yeah, it's different. But different is ok.

Yeah, it's different. But different is ok.

The funny thing is, I don't really think it's different at all. (Not meant in a BAD way by any means). The only thing "different", is the absence of Pete. The shows format is pretty much identical to what it has been. News, rapid fire, stories etc. Again, not that it's bad, but not really different.

With that said, I'm sure further changes are coming, but it will take a little time to adjust to the rotations, Pete's absence etc. Whatever they put out, I'm sure it will be good; and I'll keep listening, like I have been, since the beginning. :thumbsup2

Now really, just where IS Pete while the other podcast team members are hanging out in his house. ;)

Pete was like your dad, you always act a little less Goofy around him. But now the podcast seems a little bit Looser . Everyone seems more relaxed. See how long that last. Still I love the podcast!!! :dance3:

I really miss the rants...I think we should have auditions for "ranters". Listeners could send in their own rants and the team (or Pete, the best ranter of all time) could choose the best ones to air on the podcast!

I miss Pete, too. It's funny, I still expect to hear Pete's booming voice with his "HELLO AND WELCOME....." after the intro music.

However, I am enjoying the new format - I love all of the personalities on the show, and what their differences bring to the table. I welcome change and can't wait to see how the show transforms in the future!

I agree. I also miss his booming voice. At least we still have "You have won....". But I thrive on Pete's rants. They provide balance for all the Disney sugary sweetness. I do have to say I love all the podcast members. You never fail to make me smile (Theresa especially). Sorry if I misspelled it. Thanks for everything Podcast team! Keep up the "good times" :thumbsup2

I am really enjoying the new shows for 2010. I like the rotating hosts. However, put me in the list of people who miss Pete's voice and perspective. Believe it or not, I audibly gasped when I heard Pete's voice on the e-mail show...scared my coworker in the next cube over.

That being said, you guys are doing a great job! Change is hard, but it keeps the show fresh. I still miss Bob, too. I started listening to the podcasts about 3 months before he passed and in that short amount of time, he felt like an old friend.

I love the disboards and the podcast. It's nice to know that there is a whole community of "Anthony"s (as Kevin would put it) out there. Friends and family IRL don't understand why I'm planning on taking my family to Disney every year or two while they are young enough to enjoy the magic, and why I hope my girls will be like me and always "believe in dixie butts...er, pixie dust" (love Bob-isms!). They don't understand that the feeling I get on Main Street is of pure peace and contentment.

Love you guys!
Kristi

We are trying to keep the show fresh and vibrant.

Like Walt said about Disneyland (I'm paraphrasing here)...it will never be done.

Pete does make an appearance in this week's email show and gives some hints about things that may be coming in the near future.

We talked about these new things after the show was done recording and the changes could be VERY exciting.

Exciting is good...but it does mean more change.

I will give you a hint.......next week's show will be different yet again....and not only a new host.

Here's hoping you will give all of the new changes a chance.:thumbsup2

Looking forward to it Kevin! You guys & gals take me home from work every day. Makes my commute enjoyable. Thanks!

Now really, just where IS Pete while the other podcast team members are hanging out in his house. ;)

I thought I heard Pete in the background with Max the dog.

Well, Pete's back and better than ever in this weeks Podcast. Pete rant fans rejoice! :yay:

The PRODIGAL son returns! So glad you are on today Pete and look forward to next week's show knowing that you are hosting.

I agree......the show is different with Pete in the room. The more aggravated he his the better!

He was on fire this week!
