I miss Disney :( Let's go again! A September 2012 PTR - updated 9/10

Great plans! I know that we'll be at Epcot on the 19th for sure. It's our favorite park and there's no better way to start our trip than to head to Epcot for our first full day. I'm fairly certain that we'll be going to DHS that afternoon/evening, so maybe we'll bump into each other! :goodvibes Not sure on our plans for the day though. My DH and I love ToT and RNRC and I'm sure that TSMM will not have any FP's left by the time we get there. We'd like to see Indy again because my DD has never seen the plane scene. It had rained the last time we saw the show and they won't do that last scene if the ground is even a little wet. Bummer.

Fun that you get to spend two days at the water parks! We've never been to BB or TL, and one day I hope we get to. Summit Plummet looks pretty terrifying! I'm usually all for thrill rides, but man oh man! That's intense!

Sounds like a great day at HS. I love Fantasmic - sounds like a great way to wrap up your day. Look forward to hearing the rest of your plans!

You definitely still hold "newlywed" status! :thumbsup2

Your BB/DHS day plans sound good. Would you believe we've never seen LMA?

Good to know! LMA is pretty cool -definitely try to see it this time!

I didn't see Indy last time...looking forward to seeing it again. That would be funny if we ran into each other!

I'm so excited for the waterparks. I LOVE waterparks, but the last two times we went it was cold (March & December), so we didn't go. When I went in 2006 I was Disney-oblivious, and I know we went to either TL or BB (or maybe both??), but I honestly don't remember. I do remember NOT going on Summit Plummet!! My sister is not a sissy like me (ha!), and she said it was pretty terrifying last time, but she wants to do it again. I might chicken out, we'll have to see! I woudn't go on ToT for the longest time, but I ended up loving it. Guess I won't know until I try!

We have a little change to our plans that I'm pretty excited about!

There is a lounge in Bay Lake Tower called Top of the World lounge for DVC members...I heard a few weeks ago that they were allowing all DVC members in (it used to be only BLT members staying there on points), but it was scheduled to end on 8/25...but it looks like it has been extended!! So on Sunday (day 2), instead of going right to MK for EMH, we will take the monorail to the Contemporary (we're eating at Kona), and watch Wishes from the lounge! Then we'll walk over to the MK for EMH. :thumbsup2

Here are some pictures from the lounge (not mine - from google):

I'm pretty excited about this change - looks pretty amazing! They pipe the music in and they have drinks/snacks (not that we'll be hungry enough for either, having just come from dinner!) and they only allow a few hundred people up there, so the views should be awesome.

We are down to 17 (almost 16!) days left before WDW :banana:. I feel like I still have so much to do - I made a shopping list for this weekend for Target, to pick up our last few items!

Our day 6 (Thursday, September 20th) plans are super exciting. Thursday is our MK day!! We plan to be up EARLY (shouldn't be too hard since we should be home early the night before), because we must make the morning show this time AND it's an EMH morning! That means we'll be on the bus by 7:15 for an 8:00am opening. :scared1:. We missed the morning show last time, but I loved it in 2010.

Since it's EMH we're hoping to get lots done before our special breakfast - according to Touring Plans, the rides we can do before 10:00am: Winnie the Pooh (new for us), Space, Buzz, Jungle Cruise, Big Thunder, Splash, IASW and grab a FP for Peter Pan - whew! We'll see if we can get all of that done in 2 hours, before our 9:55 ADR at Crystal Palace! I'm pretty excited about this - the Pooh characters are so cute and I'm dying to have some chocolate Mickey waffles and puffed french toast...this one is also a first for us, but I've heard so many good things about it.

After breakfast, hopefully it will be time to use our PP fast passes, try Astro Orbiter (also new for us), then see Philharmagic (a favorite!), then relax a while on the people mover and carousel of progress (also both new for us!). Hopefully we'll be done in MK by about 1:00, so we can get out of the sun and head back to the resort.

After that, we'll be spending our last afternoon at AoA hanging out by the pool and relaxing. I don't think we'll be hungry for lunch but maybe a snack? Definitely will need a nap! We plan on staying at the hotel until 4:30pm or so, then heading back to MK. When we get back, the only other attraction slated for that day is the Laugh Floor, then we'll grab dinner (not sure where yet - some CS restaurant!). I want to line up for the parade/Wishes by 7:15 to get a good space on the hub, so if we have time before or after dinner we'll either shop, meet characters or try to catch any rides we may want to do again.

The best park of that night - MSEP and Wishes! I have never actually *seen* MSEP (heard the catchy music last time at the Wishes dessert party!), so I'm looking forward to it, and Wishes is always amazing. After that we'll hustle out of the park and hopefully get to the busses quick and get to sleep early - I'm sure we'll be wiped from a long day in the park :faint:

We'll be heading to MK for EMH that day too!!! We LOVE going straight to Fantasyland and getting all of that done right away. We usually stay at MK until 10am and then walk over to the Contemporary for our traditional late breakfast at Chef Mickey's.

Just to let you know.....the only areas of MK that are open for EMH are Fantasyland and Tomorrowland. You won't be able to hit up Splash and other Frontierland/Adventureland attractions until 9am. You'll want to position yourself by the rope to get over to Splash a little before 9am. Here's the EMH lists right from disneyworld.com:

Available attractions during Extra Magic Hours

Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin

Your plans look great! We love Crystal Palace. We'll be eating there later in our trip...love getting 8am ADR's!

You will *love* MSEP! We saw it for the first time in years on our last trip - it's so neat! Make sure you get a good spot so you don't have to try and look over anyone else's head (like we did). :crazy2:

I'm with ya on the to-do list. Mine just keeps growing the closer we get!

Ha! So I did comment, but it was FOREVER ago, and then I just fell sooo behind with my TRs & especially PTRs. You pretty much summed up all the days we'll be in the same parks haha!

I know we'll be around MK again on the 20th, but probably not until the evening, as it's our park hopping day, and I'm not even sure what we'll end up doing! Haha.

Our trips are so cloooooseee!!

Thanks for that - you think I would no since that's in my planning binder but apparently I just print things out and don't actually use them! I looked at my touring plan...we'll just do IASW before Splash, BTTMR and the Jungle Cruise and then it should be 9 by the time we get around to them.

I can't wait! I've seen parts of it while walking but I've never actually sat and watched it. I want to get there by 7:15 to get a spot on the curb - that's probably enough time during September, right?

Your trip is so soon! Sounds like you have a lot of great things planned! It's fun you will get to see Wishes and MSEP! They are only doing MSEP one of the 5 nights that we are there and we won't be in MK that night, so I will have to put that experience off until a future visit. I'd love to get to see it, though!

Haha, I commented on your PTR at the same time you did mine. Too funny.

I would think if MSEP is at 8:00 then getting to the curb by 7:15 would be plenty of time. Just watch the crowds and if you see people starting to sit down, make a run for a piece of cement for yourself! :teeth:

TWO WEEKS. I can't believe how close it's getting, ahhhhh.

I got some stuff accomplished this week! I think I've finally finished my packing checklist (of course I reviewed the Disney ultimate packing checklist for completeness!), and my sister and I went to B&B Works/Target to pick up some stuff. Among our haul:

-5 antibacterial hand gels (LOVE these from B&BW, they're only $1 each and they have sooo many choices). I also got one of those hand gel holder things - I am addicted to hand sanitizer (on a normal basis I use it 3-5 times a day, let alone when I'm in a theme park!), so I want to make sure they're easily accessible on the outside of my bag :goodvibes

-Mini sunscreen. They were only $1 per tube at Target and are tiny enough to throw in our park bags for the parks. We'll bring a big bottle for the waterparks (when we'll have a locker) and for the pool

-Mini conditioner, shampoo and hairspray. A must, of course. I have realllly long/thick/frizzy hair and use a ton of conditioner!

-Earplugs - again, a must! I'm a pretty light sleeper and used to having my fan running. Which I haven't ruled out from bringing yet!

-Batteries. For my camera, of course. I have a Nikon L810, and it's actually surprisingly great on batteries for such a big camera...I packed a spare set and I figured I can always buy more once we get there.

I know, all that was so exciting you can hardly contain yourselves. We also tried to buy ponchos but they only had bright colors at Target. In 2010 we had a bad experience with cheapy yellow ponchos (the color ran all over our clothes and they were ruined!), so we're looking for clear ones - anyone know where we might find these?

Besides the ponchos, I'm finished up my shopping. I'll get both of my suitcases from my mom tomorrow (a big & a little...Southwest lets us check two for free so might as well bring the second!).

I'm getting a much needed haircut today, then I need to make plans for a mani/pedi and a wax. I LOVE these nail designs!

I keep my nails really short and have baby-like hands so I don't think the french tip would work. I'm leaning towards the red with white dots & the bow on the ring finger. Any opinions?

Ooh, I forgot about one more thing. I only wear flip flops in the park (I know, I know, it's bad for my backs/knees/feet, etc.), because I just can't stand my feet being all hot in sneakers, especially if they were going to get wet! Anyway, I alternate between a pair of Rainbows (super comfy!) and Havaianas, and a cheap pair of Old Navy ones for the waterparks. My hubby was so kind to buy me another pair of Havs for the park:

They're waiting in the front office of our apartment complex for me so I'll pick them up today after my haircut. Today is full of lots of errands, fall cleaning & gathering up my stuff to start to pack. Enjoy your labor day weekend everyone!

Good call :thumbsup2 I don't mind waiting to get a good spot as long as no one pushes in front of me! I'm only 5 ft tall, so I can't see over people very well.

Any kind of shopping for Disney is fun, so I was very excited to read all about the stuff you bought. I have a TON of anti-bacs from B&BW....it's really ridiculous how much stuff I have from that store. I just bought all the new fall soaps/anti-bacs a few weeks ago. My closet is full of B&BW bags!!!

I bought ponchos at Walmart in their camping section. They have yellow or blue for adults and pink for youth sizes (probably blue too, but with a daughter I bought pink). They have never run on our clothes and they are much better quality than the garbage bags they sell at the dollar store. These ones don't stick to our skin at all. They're like the same material as the ones they sell in the parks. They are great! :thumbsup2

Love all of those nail designs! I hardly ever wear nail polish on my fingers. Once it starts chipping it makes me nuts! I need to pick a good color to wear on my toes for my trip. I might have to try some of the designs you posted!

I only wear flip flops in the park too. I don't even have nice ones, just the ones from Old Navy (in like 20 different colors). I wear flips flops all summer, so walking in them all day doesn't bother me. I've really wanted to get some Havianas though. I know they sell them at Gap, so I might need to make a trip to the mall!

I didn't know Gap sells Havianas! I got mine from Zappos and they were only $24 w/free shipping! I ordered them Monday night (probably 9:00pm or later) and got them by Wednesday afternoon - so fast! And they have tons of designs.

Have you ever tried gel nail polish? It last FOREVERRRR, its worth the extra cost!

They don't have a ton of colors, but they do have them. You can't use any discounts or coupons on them, but it's a nice option to be able to buy them in the store.

I haven't but my mom and older sister love gel polish.

Less than two weeks now - ahh! Yesterday I did lots of cleaning/organizing and of course some Disney shopping! I was SO excited because I found the two cutest tanks at Target yesterday:

photo54.jpg

photo55.jpg

How cute are they??? The straps are too long on the first one so that one will have to serve as a beach cover up, so no biggie. I love the second one too! You can't tell from the picture, but the back is longer than the front - so cute. They were $12 each I think - such a steal!

I am heading out to my parents for a Labor Day BBQ, but I wanted to post our plans for Day 7 - Friday, September 21st.

This day should be super exciting :goodvibes We'll have to get up early this day - probably around 6:30 :scared1:. We have to pack our bags because we're checking out of AoA today! We'll eat a quick breakfast in the room, then drop off our bags at the front desk before heading to AK for morning EMH...hope to be at the bus stop by 7:30 for an 8:00am opening!

On the schedule for this morning is EE, possibly KS again, Dinosaur (I HATE this ride but my sister likes it), then we'll do the Maharajah Trek, grab a Kali FP, the Pangani Trail & Discovery Island...then hopefully it'll be time to use our FP for Kali! I'm thinking we'll be done all that by 11...if not I would like to go to the character greeting trails!

Around 11, I'd like to hop to MK for one last visit here. We'll probably stay for about 3 hours or so, nothing really that we haven't seen yet so we'll just hit whatever rides we can and meeting characters or shopping. We'll also grab a CS lunch here before we head out. I'd like to leave around 2:30 so we can spend some time at....AK Lodge!! I am so excited for my first Deluxe resort  I'm hoping that we'll get there around 3:00pm so we can check into our Savannah view room!

From 3:00-6:30 I want to relax (probably nap!), watch animals on our balcony and definitely use the pool. Originally we had ADRs for Sanaa at 6:55, but I ended up cancelling it. I'm just afraid the food will taste too "ethnic" for me and I won't like it. Luckily we had already had our FIRST reservation for T-Rex at 8 that I never cancelled! So we plan to head out around 6:30, and do a little shopping before our 8:00pm ADR at T-Rex. We'll probably do some shopping afterwards too before heading back to the resort.

Whoo, busy day, but hopefully we'll get some relaxing time in the afternoon! The following day will be another early morning & our last park day. I feel sad even preparing to write about it!

Cute tanks! I remember seeing them at my local Target, but they never had my size (story of my life). I was just there yesterday and I think they moved all their summer stuff to clearance. I didn't feel like pawing through the racks yesterday to check everything out.

What a fun day you have planned! We'll actually be eating at T-Rex for lunch that day...we really liked it there a few years ago. Then, we'll be going to MK for MNSSHP!!!! YAY!! :thumbsup2

I've always wanted to check out AKL. It looks so pretty!
