He and some of his team were at Innoventions at DLR letting people try out and get feedbadk for the new Everest game. I think they may call it "Eyes of the Yeti" The game is based around Expedition Everest and uses actual images from the ride. You play the Yeti trying to keep people off the mountain. The game will not be a part of VMK but the prize for winning is the Everest room. I played it for about 20 minutes and then I had to take off for my tour. When I got back I was creating characters so I could give black mickey ears to SeaSpray. Yavn started using the terminal next to me and I noticed that he was in the Everest room that's been posted to the board and realized who he was.
We talked about VMK and I asked about some of topics that have been brought up here.
Trading rooms
They want to allow that and are looking into implementing it. There are issues that need to worked out. Related to why it took so long to let people sell rooms.
Mules
Very much againt them. Since most people create mules for credit they are working to fix things so that's not necessary. That's why the new Haunted Mansion game makes it easier to earn credits. They have also disabled the two 500 credit codes. They do not want to validate email addresses. They want to keep it simple to join and start playing.
Exclusive WDW/DLR prizes
They are planning more of these. Right now the Wanted Poster is worth more then Magic Mirror because it cheaper to get Magic Mirror. Holiday snowmen are different too. DLR is gold, WDW is white. Other two prizes are the same.
Magic Carpet
They are expecting to release it around February?? They are still working on it and how it reacts to things in the game. One of the things he mentioned specifically is they changed/adjusted how the Magic Carpet behaves with the new river stuff.
They are planning on more in game coupon prizes
I asked about complaints from people playing that could not got to DLR or WDW to redeem coupons. His answer was that VMK was intended as something to encourage people to go to a park.
Notice that there are more then 16 people in Yavn's rooms? That's one of the things they are working on. Implementation issues aside, one of the problems with a lot of people in one room is that the converstion text scrolls too fast if a lot of people are talking.
He made mention of the Black Hole and the fact that they do listen to feedback/complaints/etc. and do try to fix things. One of the reasons that Halloween stuff stayed up so long was because they were working on getting all the new stuff working. There are still issues that they are working on.
Expect a bunch of new and exciting things in the coming months.
BTW the names on the license plates on the cars in the Buena Vista drive-in are names of developers including Yavn.
