I gave her this letter last night. I wrote it during lunch at work.
After she read it she put it on the bulletin board in her room.
To my dear daughter,
In a couple of weeks you will be going into middle school. I cant believe how fast time flies. It seems like only yesterday you were just a little baby. I want you to know that you are the light of my life and I love you more than I could have ever imagined. You will always be my baby even when youre 80.
The next few years are probably going to be rough for us. You will become a teenager and forget that you have a mom. We will probably argue about stupid things and might even say things we dont mean. Its important for you to know that no matter what I love you more each day. There isnt anything I wouldnt do for you and your happiness.
During these difficult years there are a few things I want you to remember.
1.) You are beautiful and if anyone ever tells you different they are wrong.
2.) You are very intelligent; use it wisely and apply it to your school work and everything you do.
3.) You are loved very much by your family and that will never change.
4.) Treat others the way you would like to be treated. It is an old saying but it is so very true.
5.) Always do your best and you will be successful.
6.) Hold you head high and be proud of the person you are.
I know these things may seem like common sense but somewhere along the line we all seem to forget them sometimes. I want you to remember them always.
Even though Ill miss you being my little one, Im looking forward to the young woman you are becoming.
I love you with all my heart and soul!
Love always,
Mom
After she read it she put it on the bulletin board in her room.

Now I'm inspired to write one for my dd, too.
