I love the DIS code at the S/D

I'm so excited. I just booked the Swan 8/11 - 8/19 with the DIS code. Guess what? $125.00 a night. Wahooooo. The Dolphin wasn't available for that entire time frame. Also, I was told these codes are booking fast. So, if anyone is interested - call NOW. What a rate!

What code did you use?

Just click on Dis Home and the link is right on the home page.

I just booked the Dolphin 8/5-8/7 post cruise. How can I be in Florida and not go to Disney even if it is just two nights? ;) I was hoping for free dining, but with $125 versus $315 for YC/BC, it seemed to be a wash and plus I really didn't need to stay three nights since we will have already been on a seven night cruise. :cool1:

$125 vs $315 - I'd say that's a really really good deal.

Yep - I found it on the wdwinfo home page. I called and made my reservation and just gave them the code. Which I think I can mention because it's public knowledge and for anyone. DIS. That's the code.

Good Luck.

Do the Swan and Dolphin offer the same benefits as the Disney resorts? Such as early entry, free transportation, etc. How about free dining if it is offered?
That is a good price and I like the location. Also, do either sleep 5?

You do get the use of disney buses and boats to get to the parks. And you can do the extra magic hours, and send packages you purchased at the parks to the resort. The things you don't get are Magical Express, Dining package, and charging to your room at the parks. We just stayed at the Dolphin right before Christmas on $129 room rate, and I say for that price it just can't be beat. I think Dolphin can sleep up to 5.

Thanks for the info. Is Magical Express where Disney takes you from the airport to your hotel? Lovemyboys, did you like the Dolphin? We stayed at the Boardwalk a few years ago, and I really loved the location but the rooms themselves weren't that special, so I thought I'd try somewhere more economical.

Yes, ME is the bus that takes you from the airport. We really liked the Dolphin, we haven't stayed at other Disney deluxes, so I can't really compare. But the room was a nice size and very clean. The beds were comfy, however they are doubles and not queen. The Swan has the Queen beds, but I don't think they allow 5 people in a room. They don't have a daybed like other deluxes, I think they bring in a roll away bed.

I think for a lot of people the lack of the dining plan is the deal breaker, but we didn't mind. Also if you have a AAA card you can use it to get 20% off at Picabu, Fountain and Fresh at the Dolphin and at the restaurants at the Swan (although we never ate at the Swan, just at the Dolphin). Also if you have a car, Dolphin and Swan charge for parking (we didn't, so it wasn't an issue for us).

What did you think about the Dolphin verses CSR? Which would you preder to stay at and why??

With all the confusion about the August codes and discounts, this certainly sounds like a good option. I am hoping for free dining, but I am now considering a split stay and spending a few nights at the Swan. I have always wanted to walk to Epcot and it looks like it will only cost about $60 or so to get back to the airport.

Do you know if the AAA discount is valid for 2007?

I'm glad everyone is chiming in on this thread and recognizing this great rate. In my humble opinion, the Swan and Dolphin truly are deluxe resorts, and with this rate you're paying less than a moderate rate. Incredible if you ask me. Don't get me wrong, we LOVE the Polynesian but I just can't justify paying more than $100 extra dollars per night when the S/D are such great resorts.

As far as the dining plan, that doesn't concern us AT ALL. We tried the dining plan for the first time last year and it's not for us. Too much food and too much counter service. I'll admit it saves money but it doesn't save the waistline. That's for sure. And, we like sit-down breakfasts. You don't want to spend your 1 TS meal on breakfast. I don't like feeling like I have to eat so much junk - a.k.a counter service.

We usually drive so ME doesn't matter to us. I think it's a matter of whether or not these two "drawbacks" affect your family.

I for one could kiss the powers that be of the S/D in the mouth for offering such great rates - and you don't have to play the "code game" and wait and wait hoping to get a code at a Disney-owned resort. We've stayed there twice, once at the Swan and once at the Dolphin, and we've been very pleased both times.

I think the grounds at CSR were just beautiful, however the rooms were nicer and bigger at the Dolphin. I really liked the inside corridors, and you can't beat the location. Also, for us we paid about the same for both, so I would have to say the Dolphin. (We did not use the pools at either resort, so I can't compare those).

I think that if I saw a rate like the one being advertised now, for the time period I was going, it would be a no brainer, because at that price the value of what you get for the price that you pay far exceeds anything else you can find on property (at least in my opinion:) )

I haven't heard anything about them changing it for 2007, but I guess you could always call and ask.:)

I think once you've stayed in the Epcot Resort area it's just hard not too. I've stayed at the Boardwalk, The Swan, and YC/BC, you just can't beat the commute to Epcot or MGM. ;)
