I love New York (& Disney), DVC owners group!

What does everybody think is the ideal length for a Disney trip?

I’ve always done long trips (8+ days) because I find getting through the airport painful lol. So we use all our points on one long trip each year.

Hoping by adding the DVC locker & eliminating the need for a checked bag plus getting TSA pre check to get through security faster is gonna make it a lot smoother!

I like a weeklong vacation, although we are taking an extended weekend in April. If we are doing all the parks, definitely a full week. We don't have time to go longer.

Typically we do a sat-sun 8 night trip, but thinking about switching that up next year and trying to do a few long holiday weekends, so I don’t go such long stretches without my Disney fix lol.

This year I’m using all my banked points end of May for 6 nights at GFV and 5 nights at BCV split stay! My son will be almost 3 and I’m hoping he will start to really enjoy everything, very excited :)

By any chance has anyone here flown out of Westchester airport recently?

I heard the line at check in for Jet Blue was insane one day last week and trying to find out if that’s the norm or was just a bad day. I leave in 34 hours and my travel anxiety is in full effect lol

I haven't flown Westchester. I assume you will check in online and will only need to check in at the airport for your luggage. It looks like they don't have curbside check-in. Do they let you tag and drop the luggage yourself rather than having to wait in the same line as people with ticket issues?

If you're stressing, you might want to ask on the Transportation Board. People who are not DVC owners might not see your post in this thread.

Check in online for JetBlue - get there your normal time. If you have a lot of luggage to check, then add extra time to when you get there.

The check in desk is where you have to go to check luggage as well and I confirmed the lines have been insanely long.

To avoid having to get there 2:30 hours early we are not going check bags and I just added a bunch of stuff to my Walmart order :)

This time tomorrow I should be arriving at my resort!!!!

I’m curious from anyone in HV, NYC, or Albany area which airport you find most convenient. I use to use Stewart but they still don’t have flights. Looking at westchester and Albany now but nyc airports not out of question if they are easy.
We are HV too. Stewart is our go-to airport, with Westchester a close second. In a pinch we will use Newark, but avoid JFK and LaGuardia at all costs.

I am really looking forward to some airlines going back to Stewart. I know it's going to be a long time due to the economy, but it sure would be convenient!

Stewart use to be my go to, but every time I look it seems they have fewer and fewer flights :( it’s such an awesome airport but they need more flights.

Yeah I remember flying to Ireland out of Stewart 4 years ago, and JetBlue to Orlando all my Disney trips and I don’t think they have either anymore.

We're from Buffalo and have been owners since August 2020. Our home resort is PVB. We took our first DVC trip this past February, split stay at BWV in a BW view studio, and LV studio at PVB. We have trips planned so far for this November and Feb 2022.
Hi from Lockport :-)

We're basically in Albany... and I can see ALB from my work, so I have a hard time considering a drive anywhere else. If I'm not checking luggage, I can go from my desk to SW gate in 12 minutes on a good day 😆

that’s amazing! I didn’t check luggage and am TSA pre so I zipped through pretty good.

We have officially added owner lockers, so we are leaving Lots of stuff down here and shouldn’t ever need to check a bag again! Pretty excited about that!

As you (probably) know, HPN is a small airport. The JetBlue counter is staffed by 2, sometimes in a pinch 3, employees. With several flights a day heading to Florida, it is probably too small, at least during peak times. They also take Mosaic customers ahead of those waiting in line - adding to your wait.
By all means, check in ahead of time from home - use the JetBlue app and you get the boarding passes on your phone (Apple wallet, for example). At some airports you can even do your bags from home and just drop them at the "Bag Drop" area, though I don't recall if that's available at HPN.
HPN is insanely convenient for my family as we live a few miles away. With direct flights to MCO and other Florida locations, we happily pay a bit more to fly out of there.

It actually was very smooth when we went, almost no line. It sounds like it’s a hit or miss and like you said with 2 or max 3 people checking in I’m guessing they struggle if they have multiple flights at one time. Pilot made amazing time on the way down, 1:45 fastest I’ve ever done it!
