While we've dealt with ADRs in the past - that was pre-BOG. In addition, for our October 2016 trip, this will be our first time dealing with FP+ as well.

Yes, we read the boards but just couldn't stay up late. So for my ADRs, that initially meant no BOG lunch and we were fine with that because I came up empty (as expected).

For our FP+, I made our choices early the next day because DW was out of town, and got everything we wanted at the time - including 7DMT. We were happy until we decided later to change our 3rd MK FP+ to Wishes for the one night we are spending at MK. I hadn't realized how hard it is to get a regular Wishes FP+ during October because over half of the month is taken up with MNNSHP, so that plan evaporated as well.

I would check periodically for a BOG lunch ADR without much luck, until one day about a month ago when 2 separate times opened up for the very day I wanted it and I selected the best one. DW still can't believe it.

As for the Wishes FP+, I'd check The Dibb site periodically and nothing for weeks - until today and I almost broke my fingers grabbing them.

If you're not a planner, this will mean little to you. And say what you want about the current ADR and FP+ systems, but there is definitely a sense of extreme satisfaction when all the stars align and everything in your MDE is as it should be.

To all those folks still looking for that elusive FP+ and/or ADR - never give up!

I understand completely. When I found an Ohana reservation for 5 people available less than a week out, I felt like I had won the lottery. Even found a BOG 2 days out, but our plane arrives too late to use it, had to let it go. Just don't give up, people change their plans all the time.

I'm glad your persistence paid off!!

We have always been lucky, managing to get our ADRs and FPs easily, knock on wood, BUT we have had opening times change on us, causing me to have to redo park plans. I know how it feels to have to cancel the *perfect* meals and then search and search for a replacement at a new time...it's work, but it's rewarding. I love planning our Disney trips, so it's all part of the fun for me. We'll have a good time regardless, but it's awesome to hit the jackpot when you least expect it.
