I love credit cards so much!

I'm still behind reading, but my life update: I got a part-time job, starts next week. I have 3 trips coming up Jan - May (long weekends, but all interfere with work) so I sacrificed my CA vacation in June to secure those three, since that would've been for 2 weeks. :-) Funny part is that I got the SW CP mostly for that trip. Got the CSR for the Disney packages (that died) and the CA trip for redemptions on many hotel nights (and I killed that one). My grand CC plan of 2018 did not really work out as I had planned. However, now that I got all my points back, I have loads of SW RRs and URs. It feels nice just to look at the balances. :rotfl2:

Omg thank you!!!!! I took a 1:45 pm and modified to 2 people. I never would’ve thought to look for 3 people. I try that for artist point too. Thanks!!!!!

What’s weird is it says it’s brunch at that time but you’d think lunch would be in full swing at 1:45
Yay, I'm glad you got it! Are you looking at Sunday? They now do a Sunday Brunch which is also good, but the full menu is available at 11am.

All this Homecomin talk has reminded me that this would be a great dinner option for my family our first night at WDW in September. My FIL would LOVE the food.
Yum. I'm debating lunch or brunch or dinner here for our trip this summer :) We could do our arrival dinner, because our flight will land at either 4pm or 8pm. Or lunch or brunch depending on DAH events... I think if they have DAH for MK we might do that instead of a ticket for there, so we could have lunch that day. Or brunch before we head to port for the cruise.

And, perhaps they are getting swamped with points redemptions - there's no way Marriott is paying them the regular rate for the redemption. A few times over the years I've seen my folio at a hotel and seen the reimbursement rate for a points redemption- something like a third of the advertised and readily available rate 'I' would pay if I didn't have points to use.

OMAAT had a great post about this a few months back: https://onemileatatime.com/how-much-does-marriott-pay-hotels-when-you-redeem-points/

Trying to do the amazon deal - I added my amex as a payment method, but it doesn't show up as having any MRs associated with it. Irony is that DH's Amex (same product) is showing up and saying "0 Membership Rewards Points available". His is new and no points have posted yet, mine is months old and has a whole bunch of points, but there isn't any comment about membership rewards on it, and when I go to the payment area, it asks if I want to use his card's points (of which there are none), but doesn't have the same option for my card. Grrr.

I think it takes a few hours to about a day after enrolling a MR card for the points to show and be available for use.

I see Staples is having their fee free $200 Visa from 1/13-1/19. https://www.doctorofcredit.com/staples-fee-free-200-visa-gift-cards-in-store-1-13-2-1-19/. I am not really looking to MS, but I'm thinking that would be a good opportunity to at least get some MSR done. I just got confirmation today that my Chase 30% was redeemed and I'm looking to meet MSR on two CIPs, so I would only get the regular 1%. I am planning on getting passports sometime this year. So could I get money orders for the passport fees at Walmart with these Visas? I guess I figured even if it doesn't work, I could just use them for regular spend. Any thoughts? Thanks in advance.

I like Food Lion better than Walmart for money orders. The fee is only 46 cents and they don't care if you do multiple swipes. However, they limit you to $500 per money order.

My memory is fuzzy, but I seem to recall writing TWO checks at the post office when getting passports for my kids . . . I don't recall the details. I would just make you sure you know exactly how much the money orders should be for and how it should be made out. If it were me, I'd probably just deposit the money order into my checking account.

I'm no help with this, but since those new AMEX/Staples offers went out recently, this would be a good chance for them. For those willing to do all of the steps with Swagbucks that's 19.5% off, not counting BB rewards, CC points, or if RMN comes out with an in-store Staples offer.

Thanks, you're right it is two checks, but yes it would just be easier to deposit into my checking account. Walmart is my only option for money orders.

Buying online even with the Visa fee works out better IF the RMN $10 rebate tracks. I still don't see mine pending in RMN from yesterday's purchase. Crossing my fingers but I have a bad feeling . . .

That's true, I hadn't checked the online offers lately (not since the last AMEX Staples offer :)) Is yours there as activated at least? Mine always took a couple days it seemed.

Magical rate question... It's been 3 days since I got an email with confirmation numbers, and they said they'd also forward the confirmations from Disney when they got them. I haven't gotten the confirmations forwarded yet, and when I try to link the reservation numbers with Disney it gives the error message. Just wondered if this is normal before I send an email... I'd like to link the reservations so I can cancel the All Star Music ones ASAP, just so it's done and I have my GC balance back.

I am not certain how many people here have the Wyndham Rewards Visa. My $75 annual fee posted 12/31/18. Called Barclays this morning, and was offered half off the annual fee ($37.50) plus a spend bonus of 5,000 Wyndham points after $1,000 spend in the next 90 days. I took the offer.

My total spend on the card was about $3,200 in the year I've had it, including a $500 spend bonus in May and a $750 spend bonus in December. The account specialist helping me remarked more than once about how I had been using the card throughout the year.

We are simple people when it comes to food (simple when it comes to most things really lol!) and we LOVE RFC :)

I don't dislike RFC, and we are also very simple LOL, but I try to not to go places I can easily go at home.

I’m about 200 miles north
I am apparently only 42 miles LOL, but NW, so not terribly far from you!

When I book and make the deposit I usually get the number(s) immediately and then the Disney e-mail confirmation 24 to 48 hours later. I am also able to link the reservation number as soon as I get off the phone.

Labor Day could be causing a delay, but I would send an e-mail if its been three days without the Disney confirmation e-mails and you are unable to link the reservations. Maybe the numbers were transposed or the last name got mixed up with another guest in your party.
