I love credit cards so much!

I got this email as well and went ahead and signed up. I also don't have any AA flights planned from now through May, but on the off chance that something changes, I went for it. I suspect I got the offer because I flew AA both in Nov. and Dec., even though those are 2 of my 3 lifetime AA flights that I can recall, lol.

You're lucky. I fly AA often as it's what flies into my BFs area. I flew them in Feb, July, Sept, and just over the new year and NOTHING!

That’s true I didn’t think about him making an account too. I ended up just taking one of my artist point ones off because I didn’t need two different ones. So I have an alert for artist point and homecomin now. Not sure if we will get either since it’s on a weekend and during a dance competition
When do you need Snow White? I have 2 ADRs and will drop one once we get DD19's move-in schedule. Mine are Sun 27th and Mon 28th.

Hopefully the party of 2 isn’t affected much by the dance competition. Dining is so funny. The best things can pop up at the most random times. Always good to have a plan b, but with persistence and flexibility of time I think you will find something even if it’s the day before.

This. I have always found great options the night before I want to eat somewhere b/c of the 24 hour cancellations. I hardly ever make ADRs ahead of time now...just use this method.

I'll go check. There is availability but it's spring break so the prices are high. I think it is nuts that this conference is during spring break. My dh has attended this one many times and it's always been end of April. First one I can go with him on and we can stay after for a couple of days and it's during spring break!

We may be there around the same time. Do you mind sharing your dates?

Has anyone gotten the 30% back from Staples to post to their account?

I used this offer on my CSR and CF on Jan. 3 and it still hasn't posted. One card was a $50 GC and a cork board and the other was $50 GC + $25 GC. Neither credits have posted, but the charges did.

I used the 30% back on Jan 1. I can also see the offer has been used, but no actual credit yet on the acct.

I've had a rainforest café card which was turned into a Landry's card from when we had a RFC at Tyson's Corner, Va. They closed it and I don't know why because it was always busy when I went. My birthday is this month and my Landry's $25 arrived. That $25 is the gift that keeps on giving. I've gotten that $25 at least 20 times now. The other tip is don't forget Costco sells their gift cards as McCormick and Schmick $100 for $79.99.

Do they still have breakfast at the AK location? Last time I used my $25 at dinner but breakfast is a good deal also with a free $25. And, if I remember correctly, they take your $25 (when you sign for the card) and give you $25 credit so it's a wash right away, plus you get front of the line with the card. This also works at Yak and Yeti.

I don't think of these chains as fabulous food, but I can always find something to eat, especially for free.

I forgot I have one of those cards. It says the rewards balance is $25. How do I use it? I just requested a replacement card. Do I just show it to them?

Re the no fee $200 Visa gc Staples deal...I’ve already used my Chase 30% deal, but DH still has 10% back at Staples on his Amex Plat. That’s the one that says for business cards only in the fine print. Anyone know of dp’s on if this offer works? Not sure why it showed up on a personal card, but will use it if it will credit right. And if it does credit, will it be one of those “clawback” deals?

ETA I forgot I also have this offer on my new Hilton biz card. Is this an instance where I need to not use Amex to buy a gc while working on an MSR?

ive listed ways to do it but no instructions... u can ask questions there or feel free to msg me there or here.

Thanks. I'll look again and send you any questions I have. :)

DH has one and we just bring it to the restaurant and show it to them when we check in (RFC, YnT, or TRex). RFC was a family tradition when DD was really little and I have great memories of us dining there. Last time we went to TRex we thought the food was better there, and now we like YnY best of all.

We are going January 28-February 3. We literally booked it like two days ago because we saw frontier flights for $28 each and we really wanted to do all 3 dah events. It’s only 6 nights but we really want this trip to be more relaxing. We are forcing ourselves to stay at the resort a lot more and use the amenities there. Two new things I want to try are the Fantasia golf and those little boats you can rent. I only have 2-3 adrs made right now. We are gonna do a lot of quick service since the dah tickets aren’t cheap
You can't go wrong with Homecomin and Boathouse! Try the chicken thighs and biscuits as an app at Homecomin and the Burger at Boathouse. OMG making myself hungry right now. We have ADRS for both for our March trip! We are also trying the Edison this time.

I am about 15 minutes from MOA. Go there quite frequently. Have 3 Landry Cards at our house - so usually use them at Bubba Gumps. Did go to Rainforest last time. Boy have they gotten expensive.
I had no idea so many of us were in MN.

Hello! I have been busy with life and haven't been on this thread for a while!

Does anyone here have Marriott Platinum status? I went to collect my annual elite choice benefit and it looks like the Website is down for that. I called and the rep said it hasn't been working for a while and just keep checking back. Has anyone else had a problem doing this?

Also, is the SNA the way to go? Or should I use it for 5 free elite nights? Or one night free?

TIA!

Yep, there are quite a few of us trying to pick our benefit. I think I am going with the Suite night. I believe we determined that the 5 free elite nights would post from last year, not this year so no help now. I don't remember seeing one free night as an option?

Are the Suite Nights only good for until Dec 31st? I kind of forgot about this part of being Plat.... :rolleyes1

The suite nights I earned in 2018 expire on 12.31.19. I think it also said that if you don't pick your benefit, it will default to suite nights. None of the others really made sense for me - I agree that the 5 elite nights don't seem to carry over to the next year, so unless you are going to have 70 nights and those 5 nights would push you into super platinum, they really would do you no good at all. I made super platinum in December (the 75 night version) and picked an additional 5 suite nights as my reward, so I have 10 suite nights to work with in 2019, and zero actual Marriott plans for the year at this point!

Yeah, I don't have a lot of Marriott plans currently... The other rewards don't really seem like they are worth anything. I guess I'll go with suite nights and see if I can use them. Since I made it to Plat status in Dec, that counts as earning them in 2018 right? I think I tried to read at one point and got confused

Thanks so much for the info, everyone! So, I have a trip planned in April and would love to use the suite nights then. I wonder when it will be back online so I can try to claim them? I am also reading a lot of complaints from people trying to use them but they are not available. You don't know until you actually book your room, then search to see if they are available for the hotel, then you have to wait to see if they go through (within 5 days of the trip). I always book 2 rooms but if I got the suite I would cancel one of our rooms.

We are staying at the Phoenix Westin, Las Vegas Cosmopolitan and the Courtyard Sedona.

I am so proud of myself. So have not gotten into MSing at all. But have this shiny new CIP and wasn't sure how I was going to put $5000 on it. So, DD17 is set up for Venmo. So, I set up an account and then I tried it last night. I sent her $1250 (just some random # - didn't want too small or too big). I put Tuition/Books on it and she got it right away and sent it to her bank account, where I will go and then transfer to my bank account. That was really easy. I know there is a fee but getting 3x points also, so it all washes out.

Bank bonuses still scare me. All this transferring of money and DD and debit card stuff... one day I may venture into that.
