I love credit cards so much!

Fyi, you’re totally going to WDW this fall...
You going to spot me $2600? ;)

I'm having trouble justifying the AF now on the CSR as well. We just don't travel or dine out that much to earn that many points from the 3x categories. And I think I'll end up slowly cashing out my points to pay for discounted Disney GC's. I've held on to it hoping that Disney would come back to the UR portal but I'm about all out of hope for that.
I'm debating the value in keeping the CSR long term as well. I PC'd mine last year before the 2nd AF hit, because I'd double dipped the travel credit and my wife had gotten one as well by then. Her 2nd AF just hit on 1/1. I'm going to use up the $300 travel credit on a rental car later this month, so I could potentially PC it in time to get the AF refunded. Will they claw back the travel credit if I do that?

I've done pretty well using the points for flights, but we're getting to the point where we're a) running out of UR cards to get bonuses on, and b) have other cards I want more than UR points. Once we can't get those big UR bonuses any more, it makes less sense to pay a $450 AF in order to cash them out for flights/hotels at 1.5x. I'll probably keep my wife's for this year and then reevaluate. She also has a CIP that I will most likely keep for the cell phone insurance, so that would allow us to still transfer URs earned on Freedom/FU/CIC to travel partners.

FYI - I have updated the Hotel Reviews Index from that thread. We now have over 40 properties reviewed by our own members of this thread. If you're thinking of an upcoming trip and unsure where to go...maybe check it out for some ideas :D

Thank you! This reminded me that I never posted a review of the hotel we stayed at near Disneyland back in July, lol. Looks like no one else has reviewed it, so I'll post one later. Now to find the photos I took of the room...

That sounds like a good price. I'm good for as cheap as possible - the less I spend on flight and hotel, the better :)
I just looked at my reservation. The adult tickets were actually $626.78/person, or 41,785 URs. The taxes/fees are apparently lower on a child's ticket, so my two kids tickets were only $524.54 each.

Hi all, does anyone have any suggestions for a new Biz card for me? I will be spending about $10,000 per month this year, so a big MSR would be fine. No AMEX, as they don't like me right now :(

Chase Sapphire Reserve 1/18/2018
JetBlue Plus 1/31/2018
SPG Biz Amex 3/27/2018
CIC 5/15/2018
Amex Biz Plat 7/31/2018
Amex Biz Green 8/2/2018
Barclay Arrival Plus 9/25/2018
Amex Rose Gold 11/5/2018
Chase Ink Preferred 11/20/2018

Thank you!

@DisneyMandC $300 posted to my PNC account! Pushed $5k from Chase 12/14, pulled most of it out using Ally 12/18. Did the debit transactions earlier in Dec via Amazon reload.

Thank you so much! I've got to sit down and figure that out tonight... There's nothing crazy I need to know about using Chase to fund right? Lower cash advance and then it should be easy? I've never funded using a CC before.

Make sure the name you put on the account matches your cc exactly. I like to check DoC right before and search for the newest DPs to see if anyone has recently, used my cc. I used CFU 10/28.

I am going to head to Staples this morning. I have the 30% off on my CSR and CF. Any good/bad experiences? Hoping to snag a Disney GC, but I don't remember if they sell them in store. Also need invitation envelopes and a cork board (for my ever expanding pin collection...opps).

some minor annoyances right now...don't know if they happen to others but....
1-so called to cancel the spg yesterday- paid the AF on 12/17- was told they don't refund the AF after 30 days of it posting to acct,so back in Nov. (!) so I said no that doesn't work for me, he got back on line, said it would refund. Then After he canceled it he tells me it's prorated for that first month(!!!) I said, NO,that really doesn't work.I'll just keep it then. He tells me it's too late it's canceled(!) So then he promised a full refund within 72 hours. Odds I'll need to call back for this to happen? Urg.
2-Jetblue. I hate dealing with them in every way.(except I like their flights lol) So far I haven't seen the 10% return for my flights. I've called, tried to chat, direct messaged...nothing. I was promised a fix last week by phone. Urg.
3- and now I have to think...keep CSR or pc to CSP? I think I may keep it another year on the off chance I might redeem thru it....or maybe not(???) I can't decide!

hahahahaha!! Good thing I lowered all that credit LOL, seriously Chase???

Erika, you're approved!

It was easy for me, but I stuck to one card and one transaction after a weird experience at Office Depot the day before. She did check that my ID matched my credit card, so that might be helpful to know. My location only had fixed denomination cards, so I bought a $50 Disney GC and a $10 Google Play GC for my husband.

Still better than the $1000ish Iceland Air ticket I bought back in 2015, especially paying with URs :)

My Staples only sells Disney gift cards in denominations of $50. I got 3 and asked to do $75 on two cards. The cashier did it no problem. YMMV If you have to breakup transactions maybe do a $50 on each card with the office supplies you need broken up to get as close to $63 for the maximum return

3) Math between CSR & CSP is $55 more for CSR. Do you think you’ll get $55 worth out of the CSR this year?

Our local Staples only sells $50 Disney GCs

First, congrats on the CSP. Yes, with the CSP your UR points are worth slightly more if you book travel through the Chase portal. If you cash out the UR you get 1 cent per point (cpp) but if you use the points through the travel portal they have a 1.25 cpp value. If you have the CSR they are worth 1.5 cpp. So the same 100 UR points is worth $1 to cashout, $1.25 on the CSP portal and $1.50 on the CSR portal. In general folks recommend pooling the points on your highest value card, so you probably want to link to the new CSP and transfer the points there. And yes, you can move the points again. Another perk of the CSP (and CSR and CIP, the Ink Preferred business travel card) is the ability to transfer your points to travel partners as well. Sometimes you can get a better value out of that than booking through the portal, even with the higher point multiplier on those cards. Something to compare when you have a redemption in mind.

As a purely hypothetical example of this, say there's a room at a Hyatt for $200 on the Chase travel portal.
Buying that with UR from a CF/CFU would cost you 20,000 UR points.
Buying that with the CSP would cost you 16,000 UR points.
Buying that with the CSR would cost you 13,334 UR points.
Looking at the same room on the Hyatt site shows 12,000 Hyatt points needed. Chase UR transfers to Hyatt 1:1 so transferring 12,000 UR to Hyatt would be the best value.

As I said, purely hypothetical, but I know Hyatt is one of the sweet spots for UR redemptions right now so it seemed like an easy example that's probably not too far fetched.
Thank you so much, this is great information! This does help a lot, as I was trying to figure how to get the best use of UR for hotels. I think airline I'm going to have to handle another route later on when I plan to travel outside continental U.S. as SW is not going to work for me in that department. Looks like I need to sign up for hotel rewards programs through hotel websites, haven't done that in years as I never built up enough points on just the hotel sites to be worth any redemption and just let it go. Specifically looking at the Hyatt hotels, Hilton, or maybe Marriott so this is perfect, and what I need to work on!

Thanks! Good to know, since I was planning to fund with DH's CSP. I'll do his account first and then use my CFU for mine.
