I love credit cards so much!

Woohoo! My 80k UR CIP bonus just posted this morning! Planning on cashing $600 out to pay for our 2 nights at VB in June booked via David's Rentals. I think for me it's easier to cash out UR's since I'm late to the UR world and never got to use them for Disney. Although I'd love if they'd come back!

Advice requested please :) I currently have 3 Chase biz cards - SW Biz, Marriott Biz, and CIP. I would like to apply for either CIU or CIC in the next few months after DH meets MSR on his Arrival Plus. My SW Biz AF just posted. I haven't called to check for a retention offer yet, but I'm wondering if I should cancel it even if I was offered one so that I would only have 2 biz cards with Chase before doing my CIU/CIC ap? Opinions? I'd hate to leave SW points on the table but getting CIU/CIC would be more valuable. On my 11/2 CIP app I received an instant approval and a $9k credit limit if that matters. TIA for any advice! :goodvibes

So Dh and I just went to staples to try and use the 10% back on Airbnb gift cards. Found out they only have them online. Luckily we didn’t have to drive very far to get there. Since the offer is available until 6/30/19 do we need to rush and get them or can we wait?
That's so strange. My Staples Carrie's them, but everytime I go it seems like half their display is empty
I need to go figure out how to link DH's CIP and CSP now so I can transfer some URs in from his CIP to pay off the $600 in deposits. Yes, that's right. I'm cashing out. So you know what that means... Disney will be available to book through Chase starting tomorrow morning :rotfl2:
I plan on cashing out a few today also. Enough to cover my room deposits. I figure I might as well cash out to cover our room as well as ILs, because I'm admitting that negating the cost is probably more useful for me than sitting on URs after accumulating more discounted Disney GCs. Especially as I was planning to use them for our room as well as ILs.
We’re going to London next August. I bought our flights with UR points; $575 per person RT JFK->LHR on British Airways in economy. Not fancy, but there’s 4 of us so it’s hard to accumulate enough points/find award seats in anything but economy.
That sounds like a good price. I'm good for as cheap as possible - the less I spend on flight and hotel, the better :)
Oh, how fun! And you never know, you might get a fancy flight since not all the seats book up right away. :)
Maybe. We do have a lot of flexibility since it's just us and we dont have to use peak vacation times.

Will kinda said it all - "Logo is about as inspiring as the name. "

As that was my first thought when I saw it. I can't decide if they spent beaucoup bucks at an agency and just got hosed or they decided to skip the agency and this was Stan from Accounting's winning entry in the employee contest .
I'm telling you, they were like we're gonna pull a fast one here! And it stands for BonVoyage good rewards program...

I called to cancel my SW business card in November and was offered a $100 statement credit....took it and kept the card....now wondering the same thing...I have that, the CIP and CIC...would like at some point to get the CIU bonus as well...debating applying next month or eating until I cancel the CIP in May...since DH has a CIP as well.

Hi, I wonder if anyone can help with UR questions. I have been transferring my CFU UR points I build up over to my DHs CF UR account where we are collecting for some future travel either airfare or hotel in one spot. I just got a CSP, and I read somewhere going through here the CSP is worth more somehow on the Chase website for travel? I'm probably so off on my understanding of how it really works with this but I'm trying to learn, as I've only ever redeemed points for the gift cards UR or on my SW cards! Trying to learn more and utilize UR for travel, and soon MR as we're looking at getting a CSR and/or Platinum. Particularly hotels and I guess United, as I'm already on SW. Later down the road looking into somehow Alaska Air and AA but I think I have to do that outside of Chase UR.

So, anyway, I'm wondering if I should keep UR points now in my CSP account instead if redeeming is better there through CSP, if they'll be worth more on getting travel through Chase? Can you transfer points already transferred say from CFU over to CF, and then over to CSP or is it just one transfer?

We could get them online. I’m just not sure if we need to jump on this deal since it says it’s available until June. Is it possible for it to go away before then?

Probably hard to know for sure if they’ll go away or not since the Chase offers are so new, but several have expired now and I don’t think any of them have disappeared from the list before their expiration dates. So I guess that’s promising.

Called SW to get one of my flights cancelled so I could book the Feb flight, it was a mess but they eventually got things fixed, has to do with when they added the known traveler number and something not getting done correctly when they made the change on a couple tickets. So I plan to book another person on these flights in Feb using my fingers crossed soon to be obtained CP. The spends are met and hopefully barring any unforeseen problems the points should post Jan 23 and 27-ish. The flights are not sold out right now, I'm just worried that they will be sold out or that for whatever reason the points won't post, I'm pretty sure someone ran into that problem last year that the points didn't post in the initial cycle. I don't want to book refundable fares and tie up that money but thinking I should probably just do that to be safe...I would just book the flights on points but I don't have enough points at the moment.

ETA: the refundable fares are >500 each, so I'm not booking those...

First, congrats on the CSP. Yes, with the CSP your UR points are worth slightly more if you book travel through the Chase portal. If you cash out the UR you get 1 cent per point (cpp) but if you use the points through the travel portal they have a 1.25 cpp value. If you have the CSR they are worth 1.5 cpp. So the same 100 UR points is worth $1 to cashout, $1.25 on the CSP portal and $1.50 on the CSR portal. In general folks recommend pooling the points on your highest value card, so you probably want to link to the new CSP and transfer the points there. And yes, you can move the points again. Another perk of the CSP (and CSR and CIP, the Ink Preferred business travel card) is the ability to transfer your points to travel partners as well. Sometimes you can get a better value out of that than booking through the portal, even with the higher point multiplier on those cards. Something to compare when you have a redemption in mind.

As a purely hypothetical example of this, say there's a room at a Hyatt for $200 on the Chase travel portal.
Buying that with UR from a CF/CFU would cost you 20,000 UR points.
Buying that with the CSP would cost you 16,000 UR points.
Buying that with the CSR would cost you 13,334 UR points.
Looking at the same room on the Hyatt site shows 12,000 Hyatt points needed. Chase UR transfers to Hyatt 1:1 so transferring 12,000 UR to Hyatt would be the best value.

As I said, purely hypothetical, but I know Hyatt is one of the sweet spots for UR redemptions right now so it seemed like an easy example that's probably not too far fetched.

The problem early last year was for those of us with very early closing dates, the points didn't post timely. Those who had closing dates later in the month actually had their CP prior to us. So like mine were 1/1 and 1/4. I got my 1/4 points sometime mid Jan and then my 1/1 points a couple of later. It was like SW had lost or didn't run those files since I could see them on my Chase SW statement.

That is reassuring for me since my close dates are later in the month. I wonder if it has something to do with the "pending status" thing they do every new years. Thanks!

And as I read through this thread this morning, there is The Points Guy, talking to Carson on the Today Show.

I booked a couple of WDW rooms that I will be cancelling but I used my CSR to pay the deposit. I forgot the travel credit had already reset. When I cancel the rooms, will Chase claw back the travel credit and then I can use it again? I was planning to buy a SW GC and then, sadly, considering PC'ing the CSR.
My experience has been they don’t claw it back when I get refunds.

Question for those of you who have had an acct with PNC-

Is it pretty easy to transfer money from PNC back to your main acct? We don’t have branches around here so I’ll have my direct deposit sent to PNC and then online transfer the money back to Chase(my main bank)
I find capital one is very easy where as Citizens Bank sucks for transfers bc they change a fee to move money to another bank.
I used Ally to pull the money out. No issues.

It's not too bad, no fees, but you have to answer those questions from your credit report every time you transfer. I suppose it's another layer of security, but I think it's kind of a pain. Especially when I got one wrong and had to call them just to transfer money. Just make sure to set up the account now, they will have to send those two deposits and you confirm those before you can transfer.
Answering q’s every time you want to transfer is crazy! Why don’t you pull from PNC (meaning use the transfer feature of your other bank) instead to avoid that?
