Potential Disneyland Trip

Hi!

There is a possibility of me going to DL for 2 days in late June. I am currently getting $722ish for a hotel for 3 nights including 2 days in the parks 1 park per day. This does not include parking (additional $80 at the hotel?). The hotel is about a mile walk and I could walk to the garage and take the shuttle. Disneyland website also shows Motel 6 with free parking but I'm not sure about the safety. I can also pay more to get a closer hotel to the park with free parking like Castle Inn & Suites.

Do you think I would get a better deal not doing a package? I see tickets are $322 with AAA for 2 days but hotels seem very high. I don't plan on spending much time at the hotel so don't want to pay a lot but want it to be safe. I am fine with a short walk. I will have a car so need parking - either free/a fee. Although I saw some hotels require you to move your car on the last day?

I went in 2013 for 5 days so it wont be my first time there.

Open to any advice and if there are better spots to look for deals!

We only sleep in our room, and like to be close. We stay at Desert Inn and Suites. It's about as close as you can get. If security isn't backed up, we can leave our room and be inside the park 10 minutes later.

I usually get tickets and hotel separately, without the package. I think you can get some more flexibility with prices. For instance Park Vue is right across the street from the main entrance and is $259 a night, but parking is included. There are a few other hotels you could check, like Candy Cane Inn, Tropicana or Desert Inn and Suites, like @mom2rtk suggested. Some hotels let you stay in the lot after you check out, you could call and ask about that.

That looks closer but has a $30/day parking fee versus the free parking at Castle Inn and Suites.

I priced the castle inn one separately and it was only $4 more doing the package. I'll have to price the others you mentioned again from the website instead of the package. Even If I have to move the car on the final day it would be cheaper than paying the fee nightly.

Note that the Disneyland packages require a 30-day cancellation, so you have much more flexibility in changing your trip plans if you book a hotel and park tickets separately.

Yes, definitely check the parking price. We never have a car so it hasn't been an issue. But we also only paid 159/night in early January.

I didn't have a car last time but will be coming from somewhere else so unless theres a place to return it right near Disney it will be easier to keep the car I think. Prices are high in June but figure I'm already in the area so I can't not go

@crystal1313 has a lot of videos on her You Tube channel about different hotels around DLR. She usually gives you the information on parking, breakfast, the walk to the parks, room layouts. Very helpful!! Also be aware that the “distance’ between some of the off site hotels on Google Maps and the actual walking distance can be very different, since there are places you can’t cross through etc, that can make the walk longer than it appears in distance.

You can also check out Alpine Inn (backs up to cars land on Katella) and Wyndham Anaheim. Both have free parking. Both are walking distance. Last time we stayed at castle inn, parking was super tight. We got there late too and had a hard time finding a spot to park initially. To be fair, alpine inn is also a very tight parking lot if you have a larger vehicle. We have videos of all of these hotels on our channel. Hope that helps!! Parking is now $22/day plus tax for Desert Inn, effective for any bookings after November 1, 2025.

Oh, so you're talking about a rental car, not your own? In that case, definitely consider returning the car when you get to Anaheim. Yes, there are car rental companies in the vicinity. But even if you have to drop it off further away, the one-time cost of a cab/rideshare to your hotel could easily be less than three nights of parking fees.

Will you need a car after your Disneyland visit, or will you, for example, be taking a limo/rideshare/cab to an airport?
