I love credit cards so much!

If it's cheaper/less points, and you'll hardly be in the rooms I don't see why it won't work. It's not really any further and it'll be nice to nor share a room with your IL's, especially if that's the only way to stay on site for those two nights. And it's only a couple of nights, not the whole trip.
He just has trouble seeing Disney do anything wrong  I fall into the camp of a value running almost $200 a night as wrong... I can probably talk him around.

I don’t use auto pay on the credit card bills just because our payments come from our checking account, and the balance fluctuates so much that I like to make sure the funds are available before a payment is made. If not I can transfer from another account first. I enter all my payments and due dates in a spreadsheet at the end of the month for the following month and then print that out. Then if I miss any or my statement hasn’t closed yet I can add it in later with a pen. That way I can see everything at a glance without logging on to anything. So I guess that’s a mix of old and new school methods. My phone, internet, and electric bills are all on autopay though, because those are all relatively low $.
Same except my phone and internet are auto pay on a cc for points.

I am confused though what your dilemma is and maybe I am misunderstanding but a couple thoughts. Just because you have your own Hyatt card does not mean that you have to use it when you stay at Hyatt. You could still use your husband’s account and gather points that way for stays. You would get the 60k points onto your World of Hyatt when you met the spend and eventually book an award stay that way but all other stays could be through his account. Just because you get the card does not mean you would have to use it on Hyatt stays. I have the old version but have always used the CSR for stays. World of Hyatt does not even really recognize when you have the card other than bump up your level.

We've been staying at Hyatts for years and chose to put all the points in DH's account. Plus he has all the URs, which we have moved to Hyatt to top off the number of points needed for our stays. If I get all the points, or if they are split between us, I think it will be a big mess when we try to book something. I'd like all the points in one place since it's much easier that way. Plus with the little level bump in my name, and then the stay in his, I doubt we'd get anything extra. But it's mainly about the points. We've found it easier if we have all points of a kind together (as in, I have all the AA miles, he has the hotel points and the URs. Our MRs are split, but that's it). If the card will still be available in the spring we'd rather wait and have him get it. I can't see the big announcement (which was there a couple of days ago) on Hyatt's website that said the card offer was only good through 1/7 or 1/9 or something like that. So I'm confused. HOpe this makes sense.

Yup, got a super enthusiastic response from DH when proposing Wyndham Bonnet Creek...

not.

Sorry. :( Do you have time to convince him? Since it's just a day or two around a cruise I think it would be a good time to check out one of the offsite hotels. I also love to stay on property and wouldn't want to book a week offsite unless I knew I'd like it, but a day or two with a large party might be a good opportunity to try it out and see.

Totally agree. I think in this case I'd want the extra space.

I've never stayed at Bonnet Springs so I can't compare, and I will say that Disney does a lot of things right, but I will also say that the buses were pretty bad this past week. Three out of four evenings leaving the parks, we had to wait about 30 minutes for a bus, and when the bus came, of course there was not room for everyone even though lots of people were standing. And then one night we spent five minutes (possibly exaggerating) listening to the bus driver tell people to keep moving to the back and then another five minutes listening to him tell people to stand behind the yellow line, before we could leave. We did have better luck with buses in the morning.

Haven’t maxed my 4th quarter CF, so last minute trip to Costco. Don’t go when hungry. I said yes to pretty much everything DS asked for o_O Also picked up restaurant GCs which were $79 but rang up for $74 plus 5x CF. $330 later we also ordered dinner from Giordano’s ( too many mentions here, made me hungry) which is across the street from Costco. To complete our churning day, we also hit Staples for some stuff we actually needed plus $150 in Disney GCs with the 30% Chase offers on 3 cards

It's not June so I think I'll talk him around well before then. I'll probably go ahead and book since it's refundable, and then the final call will come when the room discounts come out.

Eek. I worry with it being summer and we are park closers... it sounds very nice to just walk to Contemporary and Beach Club and Uber back since it's only two days! We ubered from DHS on the last trip after park close and I think that traumatized him (both the pick up process during park close and the driver himself...) but he liked going to Beach Club from IG and getting an uber

Remind me how many points we get if we cancel...I was thinking it wasn’t very many. Have you thought about using the cert at the Marriott village outside wdw? I thought was an option but it’s been awhile since I looked it up. Maybe it was just for FNs. @calypso726 put that one on my radar screen.

ETA. Looks like 45k points if we cancel.
I think it is 75k if we cancel. 45k was for old cat 1-5, 30 for each cat above 4.

ETA: I can't imagine staying offsite for 7 nights and going back and forth to the parks. I'd only entertain offsite for a short stay...2-3 nights.

Were there any special things since it's a timeshare? Like cleaning before you leave? Were there any extra fees? I'm looking at it on the UR portal now and it's showing a $98 cleaning fee. I'm debating a two bedroom with the ILs. It's $950 for 3 nights, or a little over 63k URs. The best I can find with Disney right now is All Star Music for $564 for one standard room... sorry not sharing  maybe if it was one night, but not three... with no Disney rooms on the portal, unless a really good discount comes out... debating... :)
what are the dates? I can check Priceline and Hotwire if you don't know how to identify disney on there.

We pretty much decided that next trip we are doing a split stay -- not giving up AKL totally but also staying at least half time at a resort that has walking access to at least one park.

There is also the option of acquiring discounted Disney gift cards and cashing out URs to cover the cost of them. Cashing out URs is hard, I know, but if you think about it, it is a way to accomplish the same thing as booking disney thru the portal, and maybe even better depending on your gift card deal.

Can you just get it in your name and transfer your Hyatt points to his account? Thats what we do with hilton points.

OK, so I think I am going to bite the bullet and go over to new ynab. I just don't have the time to enter every transaction manually anymore. What do I need to know that is diff from ynab4? If I set it up and link all my accounts today, is it going to pull in a ton of history? I want everything starting fresh on 1/1/19 with zero balances except my cash accounts obviously.

I don't blame him for this. I did the same because I didn't want to deal with walking to the bus and the wait for one to pop. But the CM's were awful and made the whole thing bad and people annoyed. I did what they asked but others didn't, so it didn't keep the ubers/lyfts from stopping where they didn't want them so it made it hard to find my uber when it finally got there. It was crowded with cars but the CM's made it way worse than it needed to be. I hadn't thought to walk to the closest resort, it probably wouldn't have been that much longer of a walk.

We have never stayed offsite but not sure we can afford a ton of onsite stays if my dd gets into dcp. At that point, I may be willing to do things I’ve not been willing to before.
