Yeah, that's the same here. My public transit is good for getting into the city, and around the city, or any point in a straight line towards the city, but sucks trying to go point to point outside of it. I live a little less than a mile from a train station, my work was not far from another train station (also outside the city) and had a bus stop outside my building so I mapped it out to try transit - 3 hours minimum assuming you make all the connections on time. If you missed a connection, forget about it, just head home. My worse case in the car with normal traffic was an hour, if I avoid traffic, 30 minutes. Tell the environment I tried at least

I need to walk nearly 1 mile to reach pavement and another 8+ to find a legit grocery store and I wouldn't pass a single bus stop until I reached the driveway entrance to the store. I would need a REALLY big cart to bring the groceries home because I wouldn't be making the trip again for several weeks!

All this talk about gas prices... makes me super happy we sold our cars and decided to run on 100% public transit/walking.

I want to do this! Or at least downsize in car and start driving way, way less. It would be totally feasible with our current lives, except I'm chicken/lazy. Perhaps it will be a New Year's resolution!

Thankful (almost) every single day that we both work from home. But, having 4 of us at home all day everyday can be a bit for my sanity. It was worse before the oldest graduate and there was 6 of us here. I have 2 more $10/$20 Speedpass offers to use, we just do not go through much gas, especially right now with the lull of softball season. (Yeah, my life revolves around SB)

Small Gold card fail: I just noticed that my $10 credit did not post for November 30 at Cheesecake Factory - it posted Dec 1 and of course that then became December's credit. Already went back to Cheesecake Factory and made another December purchase. Noticed the $10 credit was slow so looked back and saw the late post. But, not a huge deal as I got my 20% rebate ($26) and 2 free slices with my $50 gift card purchase.

So today I could book my flight (AA) down for next november's trip. I looked at all the airports and they were all showing 20000 each ticket. Figured I was in no hurry so thought I would just wait to the flight home opened. Went to work and decided to look at DC area since it's just an extra 20-30 minutes to those airports. WOW was I surprised to find web saver fares for my date!!! Quickly called hubby to be sure he was ok with driving there. I was able to get flights for 10000 each (could have gotten for 7000 but they arrived very late). Hoping I can get saver flights for trip home

Since there's a few Swagbucks users on here: You can buy 2000sb ($20) for $18 right now, limit of 10000sb ($100). It shows up immediately. So I did it on me and DHs accounts, paid $180 total on his SW biz towards MSR, cashed out immediately for $100 paypal on each account.

To jump in on all this gas talk....we're at $1.99 here at Costco in SE MI. I'll take it! Much better than the almost $4 we were pushing years ago. In 2017 when I was in Vegas, I was shocked they were cheaper than MI. The 3 years I lived there I greatly missed the gas prices in MI as they were always much cheaper. This year, it was back to what I remembered and gas was up to like $3.30 there and was in the mid-$2 back home.

I picked up the 2 Fitbit Versa I scored between schools today. I put one on FB and managed to sell it immediately for a $50 profit. Now to decide if I want to give the other to the 9yo or sell that one too. And to keep on topic...it was a nice $200 purchase on my new Aspire, LOL.

OMG, I took DS11 to just look at puppies yesterday and I think that was a total mistake. I now have puppy dog tears to deal with today as to why he can’t get a pug. He even wrote a paper for all reasons he should be allowed to get a pug. He even selected names- Ernesto, Melinda or Hamlin. I must admit I had no idea puppies were so expensive to purchase. They had English Bulldogs for $3000. What the heck! I couldn’t meet MSR just by getting a dog? Without any of the needed supplies? He’s even willing to give up vacations to be home with his puppy. Now to find a friend with a dog he can go visit since, unfortunately, that puppy MSR is only a dream...

Better avoid being around a PetSmart on adoption days now that he's dogdedicated! Ours runs them every weekend and you can hear the poor pups on the other side of the shopping center pulling at your heartstrings...

With the recent next year trip discussion it looks like I could be headed to Greece in the 2nd half of next year! One of my closest friends wants a trip to celebrate our milestone-ish birthdays and knowing she prefers Europe I said how about Spain or Greece? And she goes "GREECE!!!!!" (Tbh I didn't think she'd be down with an international trip but I'm quite happy about this development!) I'm already analyzing my cc choices in light of the idea I might head for Greece next year. This would help fix my churning fail tonight. Why are all cards blue? My most used at the time card is always in front except tonight when I bought gift cards on my cfu instead of the Alaska I'm meeting spend on.
