I love Greece! Or the Greek Islands to be exact. Loved Santorini (as I mentioned before). Also Old Town in Rhodes and Chania on Crete. One of my most memorable trips thus far.

Those islands are on my "someday" wish list.

Morning everyone. I'm having my department holiday lunch today and then we all get to leave, so just a half day thank goodness!

Thinking about the cards I hold and their annual fees. I'm working on my list of what to cut as we get ready to hit 2019. Many of my cards renew in Q1.

I'll be keeping:

• Rose Gold Amex (ride or die, always) $195 fee
• United Explorer $95 fee (car rental coverage and I can't get any more Chase cards)
• Arrival+ $89 (I use this as my alternate card mostly and for places that don't take Amex)

DH will keep:

• Delta Plat $195 fee (companion ticket)

Cutting:

• Aviator Red (both DH and I have this and will cancel) $95x2
• Delta Gold $95 (me)
• Amex Plat $550 (me)

I think this is a pretty good cull. I'll be looking to pick up maybe one new AF card this year, we'll see. Working on getting my AFs down to save more money/be more efficient.

Honestly, I might consider dumping the A+ as well when the AF comes due, unless you regularly make use of the chip+PIN capabilities. The sign up bonus is great, but otherwise it's just like any other 2% back card except the rewards are more restrictive. Plus if you close it, you can churn it down the line. Maybe get a Citi Doublecash, or some other Citi card that can be downgraded to the DC after a year, in its place?

I'm trying with my Hilton Gold, kinda figure why not. Joined Aerolineas, sending in a screenshot of my Hilton card from within the app. If they require I show how long status is good for it won't work but nbd to me if nothing comes of this. Fun to bust out the high school Spanish/Google translate and attempt to say absolutely nothing I didn't have to! I simply copied the lines of info they wanted from their promo page, double checked it on google translate and gave them each line of info. If I had Hilton Diamond I'd definitely give it a shot, could find yourself with SkyTeam Elite Plus. Expires TOMORROW 23:59 Argentina time.

I gave it a whirl with my Hilton Diamond that's to the Aspire. We shall see.

Even the economy web special fares??? My confirmation says I cannot make changes??? If I really can, do I just watch for another flight to go for 10000 miles and then I could switch? And if so, how would I go about that?

Well I haven't booked any of those. But in the past I was told any booking with miles qualified. If you call them, they would let you know for sure.

I almost forgot, I had one of those crazy million card slot wallets saved on my Amazon wish lists, and last night I got a notification that the design I picked was a lightning deal, making it another $5 off... so I went for it! It's supposed to come tomorrow.

I need more wallet ideas....mine is too bulky! but I need slots..... helpppp Kidding. I'm ordering a big skinny model from amazon..... I got DH one a year ago and I can't believe how slim it is! I hate bulky wallets,and I like a small purse

I was only charged .99 too. Mine arrived yesterday. I have not set it up yet. This was an unbelievable deal.

I received mine a couple of days ago and still haven't taken it out of the shipping box. We already have one and love it, especially for playing music. I got DH the Google Home Hub for XMas. Ok, it really might be more for me so I can put it in the kitchen And then I purchased two more Minis when Target was offering the Wifi plug for free with them. So we'll soon have 4 Minis. Hmmm...maybe I'll use a plug for the TV so I can say hey Google turn of the TV and not have to search for a remote

Well I was good for a while but alas I have fallen about 11 days and 80 pages behind on my favorite thread. Headed down to the world on Sunday through New Years so I will likely fall further behind but I’ll definitely try to catch up on the flights. I learn so much from you guys and I’m looking forward to trying to go a little deeper into churning in 2019.
MSRs for SW Biz and Plus have been met (after December statements were posted) so I’m hoping to see points post early in 2019. It would be great if we could use 2CPs to fly on March 16th.

I want to hit MSR on both of mine but I'm afraid to do it yet..... I need to go read some more to bolster myself,I've been doing this every two years for like 7-8 years now....

Looks like you did a good job and I applaud your cull! Just remember, the (rose) gold card AF increases to $250.

Mine is still in the box as well. We have a Bose for music so I don’t know if I want to try to figure out how to use the google mini right now

I always see movies at AMC because they are two of the closest theatres. The movie I want to see Christmas Day is in a limited release, which I didn't realize and it's not how it was advertised, but it's only at a Cinnemark about 25 min away. Thank goodness there won't be traffic or I'd just wait til Jan 11. Anyway, the only way to buy tickets online is with fandango, this theatre isn't on atom which is the one I see talked about the most here. Is there anyway to get savings etc with fandango? Without getting stuck with part of a gc I won't use for a long time (too much AMC gc's already).

We are seeing Mary Poppins Christmas Day. I have tickets already. It's our tradition to see a movie every Christmas Day and this is the perfect choice! I was skeptical, until they said it was a sequel and not a remake. Then they cast Blunt, and I was all in! I am sooooooooooooooo excited. The original is one of my favorite movies ever. I have seen the musical 4 times also.

Haha! This wallet is DHs worst nightmare, he's always worried I will lose it with 50 cards in there. I've only lost my wallet once in my life and the fire alarm was going off, okay? I have a little wallet for when I travel, also my new travel purse is one with a built in wallet pocket that is RFID blocking, plus a phone case that holds three cards - seriously my favorite phone accessory ever. I had a version for my iPhone, then switched to a Motorola. I loved my Motorola phone, but when I got a Samsung phone I was most excited to be able to get this case because they didn't make one like it for the Motorola. Soooo if I'm just running to the store or out to eat or whatever, I just take my phone with my ID and two cards. Currently have DHs SW priority and my CIP. But I tend to throw the big wallet in to take to work in case a deal pops up during the day and I want to buy online or stop on the way home. I also love Samsung Pay for "carrying" Discover cards and AMEX cards.

Being a slacker has paid off for me today. Checked SW again, and another flight came up for 6152 instead of 7603pts, so I successfully booked both flights to MCO and one home with my remaining RR points, and the other flight home with DHs RR pts, without having to move any URs!
