I buy the same cat food (pate version). Chewy had an excellent deal a couple weeks back - especially combining with the Amex offer. I seem to recall a per can cost of 25 - 30 cents after all was said and done. I may have to change food though. We have a new kitten and I think the food might be too rich for him.

I had a delivery from Chewy last week. I haven't had the Amex offers in quite a while from Chewy - would love to get them again! I feed 3 varieties, fancy feast, dry urinary tract pro plan and the wet ut pro plan, so I'm always looking for deals. Plus a dog and 2 cockatiels. The vets love me, as they can count on a well visit at least once or twice a year for each pet, plus shots, etc. Plus the Yorkie has his baths there as well as his haircuts. Meanwhile, hair cuttery does my hair.....

Not a need for the skymiles on his account right now, but in case Amex decides it really really hates him I thought maybe I should. Just got the confirmation email. It says it will take "approximately 6 weeks for points to post to your account." 6 weeks?!? I thought the couple days when it was SPG to Delta was a little crazy...

I cancelled my MB on its anniversary since I already have a gold and vanilla plat (yes I have a problem). It was easy to do via SM/chat so I didn't even have to call.

I have a few problems! Not only do I have 2 personal plat's, I have only had the MB plat since April. It was a total FOMO application, because AmEx announced (or some bloggers figured out) that AmEx was discontinuing applications. Then, after I was approved for the MB card, I read that some people had been denied for the bonus on the vanilla plat after having one of the branded plats. So then I decided I needed to get that card while I still had the other card . . . It did all work out, and even though it's not ideal, given how AmEx is tightening up on things, I don't regret getting both of the cards this year. Now I just have to figure out what to do with the card I've only had 8 months. The safest thing is probably just to let AmEx convert it to the vanilla plat and then deal with it in April.

Oooh...yes, that makes sense then. Actually then when you go to cancel or downgrade you can quite honestly tell them you don't need 2 plats. Really sort of hard to argue with that. I totally understand the fomo...since I could never get the 100,000 MR offer I just got the MB, vanilla and biz. Take that Amex

Totally jealous that we missed out on the MB Platinums. I think your plan makes sense since AMEX can't really argue that you won't need 2 identical platinums.

I just subscribed to the FIRE thread but I will probably just lurk. I haven’t been feeling great about retiring at even a normal age, but losing my job makes me feel like I never will. I am at or close to, the age some of you are planning to retire. I won’t be there for a long time. First have to find a job so we can pay the bills LOL. We done have a ton of debt, mortgage, two cars, cell phone, satellite, but it all adds up.

Omg that is my least favorite smell ever. Just awful. Went to University of Illinois College of Agriculture which has its owns farms for teaching and research. The pig farm was the worst smelling by far.

My oldest wants to be a physical therapist, so a solid state school for undergrad will likely set her up fine for grad school, and she needs to be prepared to pay for 7 years of school before she's done.

Definitely research this. I know a number of people who applied numerous times to a PT program after already having a BS. Some ended up with MS degrees in another field because the competition was stiff. The school I attended for dietetics also has PT, OT and Pharmacy programs and some of our classes were together way back when. I know things have changed since I graduated but I believe they remain very competitive

I have been lazy and haven't taken my Safeway eGift in to try yet, but, all the Acme GCs are new with both the Safeway and Albertsons logos at my stores. So we should be able to use both now here. If your receipts changed you should be good.

ETA: Had to run out to Acme tonight so took the Safeway GC with to try it out. It worked after the cashier figured out how to redeem it... No thank you, I don't want you to sell me my own GC, I'm not sure that's going to work, maybe try the "associate instructions" printed there... but after a dozen button pushes it worked. I'm not confident in using it at self checkout.

It was definitely motivating to study (more) in college...also I learned to appreciate (more) workers in all walks of life.

Yikes. That's really awful. And shouldn't be ok/legal whatever. I'm glad the SPG points finally posted. DH has the Lux but hasn't met MSR quite yet - now I'm worried those points will take forever to get to his account when he does finish it. So sorry you have to deal with this stuff.

LOL - I went and reviewed the menu and figured out that our likely cost was $150 (rounded) . 18% tip = $27 // 6.5% tax = $9.75; so all in it was $187 and that's what I put on the budget, hahaha! I am nothing if not precise... haha! Crazy enough...I do this with every sit down meal to figure out approximately how much we need in gift cards to end up with $0 out of pocket while we are in Orlando.

With QS I am a little less scientific and just assume $40 each as that was our average from last year with a small bump for price increases.

I do add some cushion to the calculation but I do that with Snacks and Souven'ears because it's easier to me.

Congrats on the approval ...I would think the timing would depend on how many other Chase cards you’ve opened over the past 12 months....you probably already know but also watch your credit limits on all chase cards prior to applying
