I love credit cards so much!

I want to move than like this. The holiday not paying attention while driving/shopping etc has started. I was only in the store 10 min and was so annoyed however it did save me a trip Friday to see that they don't have the style top I want after all. So I'll keep all my shopping to online this weekend.

We used to love going out Black Friday shopping. We even went one year at midnight with my mother in law. Last year was actually our first year not going, and we stayed home and bought online all day (including the Chromebook I'm typing this on!). I think we're doing the same this year. No sense fighting the crowds when the deals are now usually just as good online, plus I can go through cashback portals.

One point on the Barclaycard Arrival Plus not mentioned today is that it is a MasterCard so Plastiq has had a lot of promotions with it. Also as a MasterCard no problem using it for a mortgage.

I’m on the list that got it on the 60k AF fee club. But no problem with meeting spend as it was made with 3 mortgage payments. Points posted shortly after spend. I think it is worthwhile to get for Dh now it is at the higher offer. But we are pretty much tapped with Chase.

Apparently the points can also “erase” DVC dues so @magickingdomprincess that might be worth considering as well.

Thanks for the info! That's good to know. And great point on Plastiq. I mentioned the card to DH and he didn't say no so I'm thinking there's a good chance he'll go for it, hopefully this weekend. I did see the link was live now with the 70k offer/AF waived.

Is it time for potential triple dips on Amexes yet?

Yes.

Any chance the 100k biz call in offer is still out there? The 75k personal is still not working for me via incognito or anything else. Think I could make the 10k spend work in the next 3 months.

Yes, as of last week, the 100k Biz Plat was still available by calling in. @mmmears 's DH was approved last Monday, and @kmc8826 was approved last Friday.

DoC is now calling the expanded 5/24. No DPs yet on either Disney card or the AARP though, but I would imagine it's on them too.

DH signed up for that one too! Still working on the MSR.

How long do you have to wait to get this one again? I opened one 2/17 and closed it 1/18.

The Arrival+ hasn't been relaunched long enough yet to churn, but in the past typically you'd need to have it closed at least 6 months. If you closed your last A+ in January and your TU is relatively clean (and you're around 6/24), I'd go for it.

Can confirm. Did a direct add-on earlier this year, paid dues with the A+. I am able to apply rewards to the dues. That's our plan for the dues this year as well, we have about 100k points between each of our A+ cards.

So I found frontier flights for a trip for $39 and a delta for $204...both on their websites.
I log into chase UR and the frontier flights don't show anymore and the delta flight is listed for $400.
They have seriously screwed up going to expedia.

I think something is really screwy lately with Expedia as a whole. I was looking at the site (not through Chase UR) and hotels that used to be on there are no longer “found”after a search, but pop up when typing on the search bar. Prices seem way inflated on Chase lately. Glad I booked flights before the change, but having a hard time sealing up our hotel plans. I am hoping this gets fixed sometime soon.

I’m just trying to spend money (and meet my Plat MSR)!

Another thing about the Arrival+ is that it is true chip and pin. Great for Europe.

Been slow around here... guess people are busy/traveling for the holiday.

Not me. I'm trying to convince myself to get up and get ready for work. :faint:
Same here....but it’s only a half day and then we get to drive to my parents house for thanksgiving break!

Great! It's on my radar for early next year. 2019 dues are already covered but this looks like a nice chunk for 2020 dues.

That's what I why I keep my downgraded one. I'm tempted to cancel my regular Arrival and then reapply but I don't have 6 months when I won't be in Europe until July to do that...woe is me I know

I was thinking the same thing.

I know, it was rough getting up this am! It is so cold here (50's-LOL) I really don't want to go outside and walk dogs.

I'm not sure where to go next. I have a super old delta (which I should just close as we don't fly them) an SPG and an SPG biz. I've never had an AMEX that gives MR. I've basically been working w chase with a semi reluctant player 2. Talked him into it and now chase messed up our free Disney plans. So I have the full UR complement. I think I'm actually close to 3/24 if my spg biz doesn't count, but I'm currently holding a lot of chase cards:
SW
SW+
Amazon
Old Marriott
IHG
CSR
CF
CFU
SW biz, Ink biz preferred, Marriott biz

Does chase max you out if you hold onto them? What are their biz max? How about AMEX? I need a next step. I have huge daycare bills that I can put on a card and it kills me not to be tackling a minimum spend.

Player 2 has CSR and Ink Biz preferred. I might be able to sell him on something if we had a plan. Should we stay chase because we can? Try more amex? or switch to the unknown worlds of others?

(Judique's reply) It takes a lot for me to cancel a card even the fee ones. Just cancelled my SW, and I'm already receiving emails to apply again.)

I was thinking the same thing.

(Judique's reply: Lain must be in Hawaii. Where is everyone else? I'm at home and will be babysitting while daughter flies to Spain on Friday. Lie flat seats on points.)

At least I don't have to get up for work! And my poor little Yorkie mostly walks himself in my fenced back yard. He's SO happy when I walk him. It's 52 here and I have to go out at 11 for my dr's appointment.

According to my weather it feels like 6 here :cold:

A few questions ...
Do you know when you opened the cards ?
What airline do you usually fly...I’m thinking DW since you have 3 cards...but don’t want to assume anything
Are you looking to use points/rewards towards only a Disney trip or other travel too
What is your total credit limit on the cards vs household income ?

Random thoughts....If the SW personal cards are over a year old...I’d cancel one after your next RR bonus points post....same with the SW business card.....to give yourself room to apply for the CIC or CIU....
I’d stick with Chase until your over 5/24

Fortunately I don't have to work, either. I was supposed to hit the gym this am but I'm likely going later. The bulldog can walk to the corner and call it a day...the blab, pit and pit/chow are a different story unfortunately:sad1:

Almost travel time for us!

I am teleworking today so in between trying to wrap up work projects until next Mon, I have dropped DS off at school, trying to complete packing and cleaning the house. But can't wait to get our 10:30 pm flight to Orlando this evening and escape the cold for a bit. It's supposed to be the coldest Thanksgiving here in MD since the 1920s so I think we made the right decision to get out of dodge!

The gym. I've avoided gyms and exercise for most of my life. I'm also one of those who has diabetes type 2 and should exercise, but with changing what I eat and the way I eat, I was very successful in losing 50 pounds and maintaining it over the last 5 or 6 years.

Looking at the scale keeps me fairly grounded.

But - I still need exercise and I just don't want to go out.

So, I've been thinking of joining a gym and making it part of my morning routine. They are all around me - I could actually walk to 4 of them within a mile of me. Then I start thinking that what I really want is something that is geared towards my age group and more social....not sure if that exists. I guess I'll have to do some homework and trials to find the best fit. I want moderate exercise.

Yes, this is highly unusual Turkey Day weather. Usually we get a heat wave into the 60's, of course because the oven is on all day :p, so we have the windows open when we sit down to eat! Thursday's supposed to be the coldest day this week and drop below freezing. I can't remember the last time that happened. Good call going south :)
