I love credit cards so much!

Ok here's one - any advice?

I cashed out my RMN rewards to PayPal and money moved over immediately.
Went to do the same for DH... his RMN balance is now $0 and there is no money in his PayPal account. Why would this be?
Takes a while. Did you get an email? Mine took about 3 days after RMN said sent before it showed in PayPal but I got an email saying it was sent.

I saw a couple in the grocery store write a check the other day and I couldn't believe it! I think I gasped out loud! They were probably in their 40's, not their 70's like my parents who are still writing checks.
My BIL and I got into an argument because he started yelling at my sister since he thought she was adding a CC (actually debit since they don’t do cc) to her Apple wallet. First he needs to not tell her what to do, second it’s cause he’s all “scared” of someone hacking their debit card. I argued that I currently have been hacked 0 times, while Experian, Target and a host of other companies have been hacked and potentially released my info. So I have better odds than they do. I didn’t even get into the ‘cc safer than debit’ argument because Chase guarantees 0 liability on his debit (although someone could drain their accounts and it might take weeks for Chase to replace it, while it takes me 30 seconds to cancel a cc) Then he told me women get their purses stolen so someone could get my phone. Umm my purse is full of CCs (and your wife’s debit is in her purse) and there’s a pocket on the back of my phone with 2 cards. They don’t need my iPhone to get any CCs. Ugh. He drives me nuts with his irrational cc & tech fears (and he works in tech).

Interesting. My rewards have been showing up in my PayPal account about 30 seconds after I tell RMN to transfer to PayPal.

Looks like my missing SPG points from the first few days of April have been credited to my account. I'd frankly given up chasing these since it was under 300 points and it just didn't seem worth the effort of dealing with Amex CS. I got an email from SPG just a few minutes ago with my latest account info, and I noticed that the points total was higher than on my tracking spreadsheet. It was 843 combined points, which would have been 281 SPG points, so that sounds about right. The description of the line item was also kind of vague and looks like an adjustment for those missing points transactions. Happy that managed to fix itself!

Off topic but asking here because figured someone here would know. Where is the best place to get groceries at disney?
We used Publix delivery through Instacart in July. It was much better than what we've done in the past---WeGoShop, uber to the big Target on 192, and rental car to Publix/Target.

My girls both have food allergies and intolerances so we need to buy specific brands of food.

So what am I to do with all these points that I have from CSP and CSR now that you can't make reservations for Disney anymore? We were planning on going to WDW in March. Bummer.:headache:

I was planning on using UR to pay for our Disney trip next year too. If I find a deal on Disney GCs that is more than 33.3% off, I cash out my UR to pay for it. Getting something for 33.3% off is the breakeven point for the 1.5x valuation if that makes any sense. I have been able to find a few good deals last month with the RMN app, but that might be a one and done type of thing. It's not going to pay for my trip in full, but it helps.

I am now seriously thinking of using UR to stay at the Wyndham Bonnet Creek 2-bedroom which is right behind the America pavilion in Epoct, or right next to Caribbean Beach Resort. Our family needs separate rooms for sleeping so that limited us for Disney. I was thinking of AoA, but I've stayed there and wanted to try something new. This change in the game is really going to push me to stay there and see how it goes. I am currently able to book it through the travel portal for a little less than half of what I was planning on spending for a cabin at Ft. Wilderness or AoA.

I don't think I've seen this piece about Chase shutdowns from The Points Guy highlighted here so sharing a link:

https://thepointsguy.com/news/criti...ditorial&utm_medium=social&utm_source=TWITTER

It picks up a number of the factors that have been discussed on this thread. One factor that I haven't really seen discussed here is the number of Chase cards held, and that applying for another Chase card when you already hold 5 or 6 could be risky. That's a scary one to me because I am currently holding 6 Chase cards (5 personal and 1 business). I'm not going to let it deter me from applying for the CIP since I don't have any of the other risk factors discussed, but curious about what others think.

Wherever they pull the info that sometimes "non credit-card deposit accounts are closed" is HIGHLY suspect. We have not seen even a single report of that on r/churning, I think tpg is being trolled there...

@GlamMistress @Lain I think you guys are dealing with the Amex bonus denial due to bonus abuse pop up?

  • 9/26 Dad applied for DL Gold and got pop up, has 1 small business Amex card acquired a few years ago with a bonus offer (no other Amex cards at all- besides being an AU on one with no activity), been putting about 200 on the card since the amex offers came out this June, little to none prior to that
  • Put a few charges on the card totally just over $600
  • 10/5 applied again, no pop up, instant approval

as long as u slow it down with chase and follow the shut down rules, u will be fine. its a very small # of ppl getting shut down, not to mention a grip of them basically got reinstated after calling in.

That is my thinking. I haven't applied for a Chase card since Jan. (Marriott biz) since I've been over 5/24, so I don't see any issue with my applying for the CIP at the end of October when I should be at 4/24 (as long as the Aspire hasn't reported yet). Then I do want to apply for the CIC, CIU, etc. but will take that on a slower pace. I've also slowed DH down with Chase cards (he currently holds 1 personal and 2 biz) because I'd like him to get the SW CP for 2019/2020. His last Chase app was in May, so again thinking he is ok to apply for a SW card in Oct. or Nov.
