I was not planning a trip around then but if you don’t mind sharing the rates I’d love to hear. I would book a trip if the price is right. I got French Quater for $140ish with my AP rate this September. But those rates come out at the last minute.

I noticed a lot of Amex offers expired yesterday. Was hoping for some exciting new offers today but I don't see any. Is there any rhyme or reason when new offers get added?

DH's favorite is GF. Mine is AKL. Sitting out on the balcony in the morning and watching the animals on the savanna is one of my favorite things to do there. I also like that there are tons of activities and things to experience at the resort itself. The Wanyama safari is probably my second favorite tour experience with Keys to the Kingdom being my favorite. I like the lobby at Jambo better than Kidani but love staying at Kidani because the Okapi are on the Pembe savanna. Okapi are my favorite animal. I was in tears of joy when we did the Senses of Africa tour because I got to be up close to one and pet her. I could happily stay at AKL for a week and never leave the resort.



I know some folks have challenges with reluctant Player 2's. I feel extremely lucky to have a P2 that is "all in" and happy to discuss strategies, articles or blogs we read on travel hacking. He has no idea how to find and book the trip or how any of that side of it works beyond booking a simple flight or hotel directly and I'm ok with that.



I am big on scenery and will usually go for the view. However, I would check to see what the expected weather will be like that time of year. It would be a shame to use a bunch of extra points for a view if you can't see Mt. Fuji due to fog or cloud cover.

ABD has this as one of the experiences which I'm willing to try. As they say ... when in Rome (Japan whatever). It's actually one of the reasons I am yet again, putting off the idea of getting a tattoo. I've been saying I'm going to get one for years and haven't pulled the trigger. I was thinking about doing it for my 50th but then found out that some Onsens will ban you if you have a tattoo. So there is that to consider.



That would be my thought too. But in light of the may or may not be visible depending on the time of year, and only for one night I'd be inclined to do the commute to the hotel with the view and book the double room for the least points.

If Disney makes a hotel with views of dolphins then I’m all in lol. We sat on our balcony a couple of times but we personally like resorts with the motel style. We love walking outside at night around the resort and the two port Orleans are perfect for that. We aren’t huge fans of the hotels with all inside corridors.

We are going early June so it looks like we wouldn’t have the best chance of seeing mt Fuji. Plus, we should get to see it on our hike (I’m hoping). I’m confused why there is such a big difference between the graphs in June for visibility.

Decided to give it a try. I now have a $200 credit on my AT & T since no payment was due yet. I’ll see if I get the credit and then I’ll use DH’s card so another $200 credit on our account. It will be nice not to have to pay for Internet service for almost 4 months. And definitely makes the $95 AF worthwhile.

DoC and the SPG lux upgrade article.....when I click on the LINK to the offer, it takes me to a page where I'm logged in already(?) and looks like its the standard 5k/100k offer....with an 'apply' button. But tis looks to me like a new card page for app, not an upgrade page...or am I wrong here?

1. Gyft is not an “offer;” it’s an app available on iOS and Android devices and on the website Gyft .com. (A similar app/service is Swych.) They sell third-party eGift cards to hundreds of merchants from the convenience of your smartphone or computer. It’s just that the particular way Gyft and Swych “codes” on the CIC, when checking out only through PayPal, triggers the CIC’s 5x UR bonus category and earns you 5 URs per $1.

3. It appears from DoC’s latest update that a 50k MR/$3k MSR/3 months welcome offer might be available. This is still not as good as the current incognito and targeted offers, quoted above. The points offer is the same, but the difference is how much you have to spend on the card (the MSR being $1, $2k, or $3k) in 3 months to get those points.

4. You can check for Amex targeted offers by going to the Amex website, and check for prequalified offers. Or, you can check for Amex card offers by entering your information on CardMatch .com.

For Amex cards, you can often pull up better than public offers by checking the Amex website in incognito mode using Google Chrome or different web browsers. Play with incognito and private mode on different browsers, and even different devices, go to the Amex website to check out the offers on their cards. You can clear history, cache, and cookies to see if that’ll help. If you have a VPN, you can set that to different regions too.

The idea behind targeted and incognito offers is that Amex is looking to attract new customers who meet certain criteria, so if you appear to be a new customer to Amex, you may be targeted with a better offer than otherwise available to the public.

There’s some anecdotal evidence that if you sign up for the Amex PRG/Gold card first, it significantly reduces your chances of being targeted for Amex’s best offer on their prestige card: a 100k MR welcome bonus on the Amex Platinum card.

5. Since you and DH don’t have either the CSR or CSP, I would definitely prioritize a slot under 5/24 for one of these cards for each of you. If you go for the Amex PRG/Gold or Platinum cards while under 5/24, both are personal cards that will count against 5/24 and take up a slot that could’ve gone to a Chase card.

Thank you for this compilation!!!! Ok.... it appears at the moment that the only benefit to waiting till after 10/4 to sign up for this is the color of the card???? is that right? I'm thinking of giving it a go today since I care more about bonus/spend than card color. wwyd? ....and.... Will my $200 airline GC and $50 Saks purchase count towards my AmEx Platinum MSR that I get credit for? How about the $100 airline GC on PRG?

I read that purchases made & offset by the credit do count.

The nervous stickler in me will be glad to get the points early, but will be sure to "really" complete the spend before the MSR period is over. Just in case.
