I love credit cards so much!

By far our favorite mod resort. Did a split stay in March 2013 between both POR and POFQ. Love the size of the resorts and the room feel inside. Pretty good dining options. Busses were hardly crowded. Loved the boat to DS and the horse drawn carriage ride as the sun was setting was just amazing.
You guys are making me feel so good about my decision to pick this resort over GF. Grand Floridian is $1600 over POFQ and although I love to splurge, I couldn’t stomach the cost. $1600 can buy a whole lotta Mickey bars..lol, plus we won’t really be in the room that much between FW and the Christmas party. Since weather is iffy in November, pool wasn’t really a concern this time.

I paid $150 a night using a magical deal for POFQ, so even better.

I did the RMN rounds today and I should end up with $70 cash back from just the last ten days or so! I did Walgreens 3X (Disney gc), CVS once (merch), Kohls once (merch), Home Depot once (Disney gc) and Big Lots once (merch). I bought a filller item every time I bought a gc and so far everything has tracked! I wish I'd gotten started sooner, and I can't wait to find out what the new deals are going to be!
I checked at 1:30 am and they are definitely not have lucrative as the last 2 weeks. My credit card bill will thank me for the break.

I did Walgreens and CVS for the third time today! Also got in Home Depot twice, Kohls twice (first time GC, second merchandise) and Papa John's for the second time today. I never got to staples (it's just not convenient). I did Macy's once but I need to return the item so that one may not stick. Hoping we wake to great offers tomorrow!
Sadly, nope :(

Well, I'm ticketed home from Barcelona. Got the return flight I wanted, plus bulkhead seat and Main Cabin Extra. Used my Amex plat credit. :dogdance:

Now I need more American miles because I'm out.

Yes the RMN offers aren't very good at all. Maybe this month is a lull because next month will be awesome for black Friday/holiday shopping.

POFQ is our absolute favorite moderate resort! I believe we have stayed at every resort except for Shades of Green and Art of Animation. I like POFQ even better than some of the deluxes and DVC properties.
Oh wow. Now I’m really excited to stay there. Thanks, Calypso.

When did you book for your trip? I’d like to do POFQ for our September 2019 trip. I need to book three rooms though so I’d like to actually book soon and start getting things locked down. $150 a night is killer!

I just checked and I booked in April of this year. With taxes it came to $180 per night, not $150. POR was the same price but FQ sold out in May, I believe. I use this same agency to stay at Grand Floridian for $300 a night in August.

Thanks! I think I’m going to book directly with Disney just so I have something locked down and then shop around.

That’s a good idea. Looks like they have a deal for Sept 14-27, 2019. Not sure of your dates but can be a substantial savings.

This is exactly what I've advised a few people to do since the double-dip ended. I don't think it makes any sense to sign up for the CSR now with that high AF unless you have a plan to use all of your URs immediately and need the higher redemption rate (or you spend an otherworldly amount on dining). Otherwise, just sign up for the card with the same bonus and no AF the first year, and still get all the benefits of the card.

or if you need to use the travel protections of the CSR for an international, unplanned, practically-last-minute-to-a-planner trip (me lol)

I think dh and I will alternate between who holds the CSR by upgrading/downgrading. Right now he has a CSP and I the CSR.

My sister went to the AP event on Sat morning at DHS and she was able to ride Slinky Dog 12 times without any wait. Just incredible. I know when we went for the EMH a couple of weeks ago by the time we got off of TSM and headed to ToT, the line for Slinky Dog was just ridiculous! Almost makes me want to get DVC and an AP although I am not sure I need to ride SD 12 times in a row...

She lives in the Tampa area so much easier for her to get over for the day/weekend than for me to get there from MD though.

Will my $200 airline GC and $50 Saks purchase count towards my AmEx Platinum MSR that I get credit for? How about the $100 airline GC on PRG?

Actual that would work perfectly... let me investigate this.

I was not planning a trip around then but if you don’t mind sharing the rates I’d love to hear. I would book a trip if the price is right. I got French Quater for $140ish with my AP rate this September. But those rates come out at the last minute.

Will do! I'll probably contact them today. I was actually thinking to myself that I'd like to get rooms booked this month, if nothing else so that I can put it towards my SPG Biz MSR which seems to be slowly creeping along. I actually like the look of POR better, but I think POFQ would be a better option for us since it's smaller and seems to have much better bus service from what I've read. I wanted DH and I to stay there for our November trip to check it out, but it was already sold out.

Thanks so much. I really should not go since I think my wedding will be in December 2019, but on the other hand I could just get an AP again.

I can't remember is he a student? Did it ask if he pays rent or anything like that and how much? That could have skewed things. I think there's something we're missing like the rent, because it wouldn't seem that would be too low for a card.

On another note, I'm sure you can't or shouldn't, but could you include financial aid money as income? I know if you got monthly money from home you could. Otherwise you'd have to put 0 as your housing spend that at least some cards ask about.
I think he first tried using a student app, but bc he's currently between schooling (high school/trade school) he backed out and apped for the regular card. I don't recall him filling a box for rent etc. Think we should try again in 30 days just for kicks? or wait longer....

DoC and the SPG lux upgrade article.....when I click on the LINK to the offer, it takes me to a page where I'm logged in already(?) and looks like its the standard 5k/100k offer....with an 'apply' button. But tis looks to me like a new card page for app, not an upgrade page...or am I wrong here?
