I love credit cards so much!

I just called Chase again and spoke with Crystal ext 1118203. She said to call NCL and tell them to transfer the reservation to Loyalty because that’s the TA name NCL sees and being a Chase TA. She also said it’s up to NCL as to how much time I have to transfer the cruise but that once I transfer it I can only apply points once (at the time of transfer).

ETA: Norwegian said I have until PIF to transfer the cruise to a TA.
Be careful here, you may have gotten bad info. Their policy is 30 days.

What is the true impact of hard inquiries on your CR? DH and I jointly bought and partially financed a Jeep in June. CreditKarma shows 3 credit inquiries for me related to that purchase and 4 for my husband....?! I am considering disputing these, although I have never disputed anything before. Is this situation worth the hassle of disputing? I am at 5 inquiries and DH 6 inquiries

I don't know the answer, but am interested also. I just referred my sister for the Chase Freedom, I asked her how many accounts she had opened in the last 2 years and she assured me just 1, the Freedom Unlimited. She was denied so I asked to see her Credit report. She had 6 open accounts in the last 2 years. I never got to the bottom of what they all were, we were looking at it on her phone so it was confusing, but she also just bought a car and had 6 inquires from it. I wondered if she should try to get some off and if so, how. She has several things pre-divorce that I think she should be able to get removed. She thought she wrote to someone about it, but not everything came off. Also, I thought car loans did not count in the 5/24? I definitely didn't see 6 open CCs in the last 2 years. But I go get confused on what counts and what doesn't. Student loans? She did cosign for her DS and those just hit her report.

I can't believe it, but I just booked flights to Orlando for next week!!! I'm such a planner that this just feels so weird. I had some SW credits to use up, so I used those plus my $200 gc that should be covered by my Amex Plat credit. Then for the return flight I used points.

Now for a hotel. We get in at 9pm to MCO so I think I might book the Hyatt MCO. My best bet would be to transfer points through Chase, correct?

And then for the next few nights it looks like I can book Wyndham Bonnet Creek through the UR portal, or Swan, Dolphin and AKL are showing in Expedia. Any advice?

If you do decide to do the Hyatt Regency MCO the most cost effective way point wise is to join World of Hyatt and then transfer UR points. It is a nice place, but I am used to getting in at midnight and still getting on Disney property. No traffic that time of night at least!

I don't believe the car loan would count against 5/24 but I am worried about a bank/CC issuer denying me for a card due to hard pulls. I don't believe student loans count against 5/24 either - I think it is just strictly credit cards. But I'm sure someone here can let us know definitively :)

Nice! Another instant approval, we have a lucky group here, maybe it's the Pixie dust

:cheer2::jumping3:pixiedust:party:pixiedust::bounce::cheer2:

Thanks! I was shocked it was instant!
Congratulations!
Oh my goodness, thank you so much!! I so appreciate that!! Congrats on your instant approval!!
Of course!! Such a wonderful helpful group here I’m happy to share the love!

I recall from the past that multiple applications for auto finance within a 30 day window are treated as a single hard enquiry by prospective lenders. Could be wrong though as it has been a while.

Quick SPG Lux upgrade DP. I am staying at the Swan in Feb and figured I’d use my credit to book my room. What I didn’t realize is Swan pre charges the night (not sure if just first because my reservation is one night only). I already got the $300 credit applied AND the $60 off amex Marriott credit. Now I made two reservations and canceled one so this will be interesting to follow to see how it shakes out. But if you want Swolphin down the line might make sense to book now to take advantage of AMEX offer and credit if applicable.

Only new credit card accounts count.

What was the stated reason for denial on her letter? This likely wasn’t 5/24 but rather other credit/risk related reasons.

This sounds like it's likely correct. DCL used to allow reservations to be transferred to a TA any time prior to being PIF but changed that to 30 days after booking about 5 or so years ago.

ETA -- I see that several other people have said that NCL's policy is 30 days.

She didn't get letter yet. Just called and got the 7-10 day message. When I saw on her credit report that she had 6 open accounts in the last 2 years I figured that was it. But I didn't see 6 credit cards listed. So other stuff will be added to this count, but not counted? Like car loans? I'm confusing myself. lol Maybe I will have her send me a copy so I can look better, we just looked quickly on the phone.

5/24 isn’t the only reason Chase will deny a card. 5/24 is definitely ONLY credit card accounts.

However, She may be under 5/24 but still denied due to # of inquiries, previous delinquency, unsatisfactory prior relationship with issuer, and a whole slew of other credit reasons/metrics. We just don’t talk about a lot of those around here, lol.

I've posted about this before, but I once applied for a Chase card when I was 5/24 because I had miscalculated a date. I called Chase and was told the reason for the denial was too many recent accounts, or something like that. I said that I didn't think four accounts in two years was all that many, and the rep said that I had five accounts opened in two years. I had my credit report in front of me, so I told her I was only seeing four accounts, and she obviously also had my credit report in front of her because she told me exactly what five she was counting. So I would just call Chase and see if you can get them to tell you which accounts they are counting.

Ok let’s just clarify the language I’ve typically seen is use here to avoid confusion:

URs pending typically has meant you can see the points showing in your “Earning on Next Statement” section on the Chase site. Perhaps we haven’t all used it to mean that but we should try to be uniform to not confuse newbies (and me LOL!)

Sorry - didn't even realized I used the word pending, they are definitely not "Pending". Changed my original post to be less confusing to all!

So I just hopped in here to check on the date that Chase MSR bonuses are normally posted and I see there’s an “issue”. :guilty: I met my MSR on my current statement that doesn’t close till Sep 12. Is that when i should expect it, barring a delay from this issue? Or is it based on the date I met the MSR?

Who's going to Disneyland for Star Galaxy's opening and who's waiting until it opens at WDW?

Costa Rica in the summer and Galaxy's edge for Thanksgiving break. I'm wondering if it will be open by then at WDW.

I ended up booking a 1 bedroom at OKW with my DVC points. We've never stayed at that resort or in a 1 bedroom! I figure the boat to Disney Springs might be nice if we want to spend some time there since this won't be a parks-focused trip.

You’ll love OKW. The rooms are huge and so bright and cheery. The resort feels a million Miles from the hustle and bustle of the parks and DS. The boat is a convenient and relaxing way to visit DS.

Staying at OKW was the final thing that confirmed we would buy DVC. Since it’s the resort with the lowest point chart and also the most availability, we knew that we’d be perfectly happy if we needed to stay there each year. Enjoy!!! Oh and Olivia’s (sit down restaurant) is a hidden gem. You can also take a boat from DS to Port Orleans and get beignets!

Thanks, SFF. I finally found that page on my Chase account. My little freedom 15k bonus posted right on time. I think it was August 22. I had applied last week of July and spent $500 plus by early August. Then I couldn't figure out why the next 2500 points weren't posting, but now thanks to you I was able to see them pending on my September statement.
