I love credit cards so much!

Next piece of advice: Copy or print @Lain 's email (post) into a safe place where you can refer back to it, as sometimes there may be 10 pages a day to plow through and you won't get much advice that is more detailed and thorough then his.

Seconded :) But also, you can bookmark individual posts in your browser. If you click the little post number that will take you straight to that post and then I bookmark that into my favorites folder. When someone posts a gem I make sure to book mark it right away before it gets lost in the tidal wave :laughing:

I got approved for the Marriott Biz card but still get the "30 day decision in writing" message about my dh's CIP card.

:banana::cool1::cheer2::cool1::banana: Woohoo, congrats!

This is nice to hear! I know I will charge more than $300 total for travel on the CSR during the year, I am just not sure when it will be since flights for my Oct and Dec trips are booked and deposits are already placed on all the rooms. I had planned on using accumulated Disney Gift Cards to pay the remaining balance on the rooms, but I could always throw a minimum $300 to play it safe before applying the cards I have.

I wish I had entered the game sooner. I booked over $1,000 in airfare in the past two months. Live and learn!

Another option is something definitive that might not be a sexy as airfare or a hotel. I justified the AF because our recurring toll charge counts as travel. Got the card, set it up as the auto-reload options on the EZPass and got the travel credits for it. Finished off the credit in a couple months. Do you have to pay to park, or take the train/public transit for commute?

Do you have to wait until the annual fee has posted with Chase to request a PC if it's been over a year? I'd rather have a CFU than a CSP since I don't have any new cards at the moment:( I think the annual fee will post 9/1.

No, you don't need to wait. My aunt and uncle just PC'ed their CSP's to CF's and it's been about 18 mos for them so they received a bit of an AF refund. You will have to call though.

I feel dumb asking this after so long... but is there a way to narrow gift cards on Amazon down to third party so I can start doing that?

I search using 'gift cards restaurant' 'gift cards hotel' 'gift cards airline' or whatever I'm looking for. If I don't I end up with Amazon cards.

Wait, really... I didn't know that!

ETA: Does anyone know if I PC to a CFU, do you get the 0% interest rate for the first year or whatever it is? I actually have a very large purchase to make next week and I'd rather leave the money sitting in my Ally account (which continues to increase interest rates) if I have a 0% card.

If you are over a year, you can PC whenever you want. I don't know about the 0% interest...

Oh shoot, I misread the original post. I thought havaneselover was asking about whether she could PC before the AF had posted for the first year. Never mind...

It's possible. I PC my csp to cfu exactly at the year mark. AF never posted. I did ask when. There's also the CSP --> CS --> CFU route.

Darn it! Just went to Staples and spent $250 between school supplies and gift cards and completely forgot about the RMN cask back offer! I did at least remember to use my AmEx instead of CIC since it has the 10% offer on it.
