I love credit cards so much!

Imho don’t touch it. Everything transferred fine apparently, despite being a partner booking, so just be happy about that! I can’t imagine explaining to a booking agent why 5 mins is going to destroy my plans and I absolutely must get that other flight. I once got United to move my flight over a 45 min change but boy did it take some talking/begging!

Btw, Alaska Air = AS :)
ahhhh thanks! I'm a SWA 'expert' but a total noob for this! BTW the wording on the email was 'cancelled',which I did think was overstating things for a 5 minute change lol... Yeah I don't mind it as is (old story already shared here) just wondering...... I kept wanting to type AA but that's not right....

Thanks. I don't sell on there often so I've never run into this. It's frustrating if I'm going to take some hit because of this... Is there a way to contact eBay without calling? Am I missing it? I mean besides the fact that I'm antisocial and hate calling... :rolleyes1 It's also a pain to do at work so it'd have to wait until tonight.

Just looking again, since i was on my phone last night... there is one listing for this item that is at $13.50 with free shipping. Every other listing is the same or more than mine :headache:
I'd either ignore it and continue the auction, or you can report them using that feature....but for this amount I wouldn't bother with the hassle, I'd just cancel the bid and tell the person it was done and to get lost. Not worth the trouble.

So I finally list an item on ebay like I've been meaning to do. Last time I sold this same item, I set my starting bid at 99 cents and the item sold for $20. This time I started it at $12. Both times I've had the buyer payingshipping, based on ebay's calculation.

So someone has bid on my item, then messaged me to say they missed that my shipping charge is outrageous and unreasonable compared to similar listings. And that I should reconsider that cost or please cancel their bid.

Ok.... let's say she wins my item. She pays $12 plus shipping $9ish. If I look for the same item in other listings.... it starts at like $25 with free shipping...

The last thing I sold on ebay went into a last minute bidding war. I was super excited about the high price it went for. A few minutes after the auction ended the winning bidder contacted me about canceling. I was soooo mad. I think steam came out of my ears. They told me someone backed out of a sale on them and they didn't have the money.Gee thanks for passing along that crap. If you can't afford a hundred dollars without a sale, you can't afford $100. Anyway I decided to just cancel and found out I could send a second chance offer to the next highest bidder. Price was only $2 lower and buyer paid as soon as they received the offer.
It worked out, but man was I pissed for awhile lol.

Unfortunately you have to call eBay ..at least in my experience. I’m pretty sure the buyer can cancel their bid or if they don’t want to...if they messaged you about this through eBays message system the rep on the phone will be able to see they asked so there shouldn’t be any issue

Did she buy a round trip ticket? If she did, is the airline aware she went the bus route? I'd be more concerned that her return ticket might get cancelled because she didn't fly them to her destination on a r/t ticket then I would be with the bus. She should call them and figure out what can be done, they may do something, it'll depend on the airline. If they only offered stand by and not a guaranteed flight tomorrow with a hotel tonight I don't know what she would get. If they offered the later with the caveat she could try and fly stand by then that would be different. But my first concern would be the return flight.

She did buy a roundtrip. She said she told them she was getting on the bus but I am not sure of all the details. I will tell her to call. If it makes a difference this was a 6 am flight, she landed at 9:15 am and they told her all flights to Maine were full for the day. I was proud of her for figuring things out. She had to make a quick decision and was on the bus by 9:45. It was a quick 4 day trip, can you imagine being stuck in the wrong airport all day. I probably would have just cried and waited. My 20 yr old is braver than me. This after I made her go to the airport the night before for a 6 am flight because I did not want her catching a bus in the city (she is living in Pittsburgh for the summer) at 3 am so she got zero sleep.

If DH got CIP in May, think its pushing it to try for CIC?

DHs cards (3/24):
  • Disney 9/16, SPG personal 9/16, CSR 8/17, SPG biz 3/18, CIP 5/18
  • Older cards: Barclay Arrival Plus, Discover it
I’m not an expert like some here...so I’m sure they will advise...I have written in my notes from posts here to keep 3 months between applications...not sure if 2 is ok

My Southwest annual fees posted recently so I called today for retention offers. For the premier I got offered a $100 statement credit. They said the credit could take 2-3 statements to post tho. I accepted that one since the annual fee is $99. I made a $1 for keeping it open lol. For the plus I got offered a $35 statement credit. Since the annual fee is $69 I cancelled that one. I called two separate times, but did the calls back to back.

Looks like they have a chat feature. Haven’t used it so idk how it is.

Oh no! yeah getting her to call ASAP is very important just to assure she still has the return flight. (Quick thinking on her part about the bus! Buses never occur to me!)

ICYMI, there's a 25% off Google Express code right now. I know that some people have had issues with them in the past, but I've had no problems. In fact, the only "issue" I've had is that they'll charge my credit card for my purchase, refund it, and then charge me again for a lower amount than what I actually ordered. I use it to order my cat's food from Petsmart and this has happened to me every time I've bought there.

I bought a bunch of stuff from Costco yesterday using this. I’ve had mixed luck with GE but willing to give it another try.

I bought stamps from Costco with one of the 20% off codes one time, which was a great deal. Something I noticed today too is that I can now put in my Petsmart number to accrue rewards with them. I bought some cat food off the shelf at Petco this weekend but I'm going to return it today since I ordered enough this morning to feed my cats through August for cheaper.

DH could probably get approved for the CIC if his other Chase credit lines are low enough. He's only gotten 1 card this year as far as Chase knows (the CIP in May). Back in May, several people were getting approved for the CIC just a month or two after getting their last Chase card. If you go for the CIC now, I would really give DH at least 3 months before hitting Chase again. I know you have those ~$3k in car repairs you need this for, but keep in mind that Chase may or may not expedite the CIC. Some had success getting it expedited, others were told no.

Ooh, I'll have to check for dog food! Wouldn't have thought of that.

Thanks. Looks like credit lines are $4500, $11k, and $9k on CIP... Total income is $145k so I think he'd be okay there. I know I might have missed the boat when it comes to his car repair, so if nothing else we'll have mine at $1950 and his at $1700 will have to go something else... like Barclay or SPG. Bummer, but not the end of the world. I'm just really struggling picking another specific hotel/airline card, since I don't know when or what we'd use it on... I'm giving myself today to research and make the call and if we miss his, we miss it.

Yes. Bought $300 online last Monday. It arrived Thursday. Activation code came Saturday. 10% back posted by Friday. Will do two more this month.

I've bought a bunch of egiftcards online at Staples. They tend to arrive within 2-3 hours. $575 was the most I purchased at one time. The 10% Amex offer rebate appears within a few days. Very easy!

I recall reading somewhere (doc comments I think) that you need to be very careful with Costco as google express jacks up the prices. did you happen to notice any pricing differences? (Heck, if the coupon counters the price increase it would be worth it just to avoid the crowds!)
