That’s what I’m thinking for you too. I’ve heard “businesses” like babysitting, baking, eBay...horse braiding:smooth:. The Chase business cards come with a nice bonus and even though you need to be under 5/24 to get them, they don’t add to your 5/24. The CIP has been a nice earner for me. I paid my property taxes on Plastiq and got 3x points...adds up quick!

I’m going to forcibly subject all of you to a picture of my horse every time you mention horse braiding :rotfl2:

And for the record, my horse hasn’t hanged himself... he just fell asleep while I was braiding him

Good News... im finally making the leap from Community College --> University.
Bad News... my tuition just went from $50 --> $1200. :(
Good News... the University accepts All forms of CC.

Conclusion: first world problem...
Congratulation !!

Wow -- how long does that take to do? And then you take it down after each show?

It takes me about an hour and fifteen minutes. Typically you only braid once for each show and then take it out, but my horse likes to rub his braids in his stall so I end up braiding him multiple times over the course of one show. So we showed Thursday and Saturday at my last show, so I braided him Thursday morning, cut the braids out that night, rebraided Saturday morning, and then cut them out again. Fortunately I’m a braider, most people pay others to do it for them. He’d be racking up some high bills if that was the case

@DisneyMandC So, this is your horse? I thought you were just traveling around braiding other people's horses manes. Do you show him? He's really pretty!! And I love seeing pics of the braiding.

Hi everyone! I'm sure this question has been covered here somewhere, but I'm not having luck finding the answer in my searching. I've been reading a lot about travel hacking and have decided to get our feet wet. In the last week, I have been approved for the CSR and my husband has been approved for the CSP. Prior to this, we did not take out a new credit card since 2014. I was thinking of doing the following in order to enhance our options for earning points and would like to know if doing these makes sense or would be a problem:

1. Sign myself up as an AU on my husband's CSP in order for him to get the 5,000 points.
2. Have myself apply for the Chase Freedom Unlimited and sign up my husband as an AU.
3. Have my husband apply for the Chase Freedom and sign myself up as an AU.
4. Most likely keep the CSR for myself after the first year, but cancel my husband's CSP before the $95 annual fee hits.

Thanks in advance for your help and thank you to everyone who has previously posted as it has been so educational and helpful.

I like the freedom cards, but I don't think you want to have them taking up that many spots. As others have mentioned, I'd avoid the number of AU cards you're looking at. If you don't mind carrying a card without your name on it, order a replacement card - pick the damaged option NOT lost or stolen. Then you can each carry a card to use, but only have one account taking up space on a credit report. No one's asked to match the name on our cards yet.

I'd also hold off on the CFU until you decide if there's other cards you may want from Chase. I'm going to copy from another post I made recently -

I feel that if you can utilize at least 2 quarters of categories the CF is probably the better option. Here's an example with a random amount of annual spend on the card:
$3000 on the CFU at 1.5% gets $45 cashback (4500 UR)
$3000 on the CF with half being 5% and half at 1% gets $90 cashback (9000 UR)
So even if you don't max out the quarters, if you can get at least 15% of that spend at the higher return you'll come out ahead with the CF.
($450 @ 5% + $2550 @ 1% = $48)

So I like the CF in combo with your Sapphires and if you can hit the bonus categories each quarter it'll outweigh the missing half percent from the CFU. Then after you check out other earning options decide if getting the CFU now works with the plan. The nice part is you are in 2 player mode so you can decide if you want to double up on the bonuses or spread them out between you to get a bigger variety of cards. But if you make each other AU's on each card you've just halved your options without even getting a bonus for it.

3 :( 5 week of class.

Anyone get their 10% back on lowes yet? My transaction is done but no discounts yet :(
I got my Lowes discount. I bought a bunch of gift cards and a couple of other things on Saturday. Discount posted a few days later. I’ve been getting my Mobil/Exxon credits too.

Finished up my Freedom with one more slightly discounted Walmart gift card. Stopped at the store for cereal, milk, and a bunch of gift cards that Kroger released coupons for. Some well use, some are for gifts, some I'm going to sell. Spent $175 for $205 in gift cards, and overall put $182 towards my Discover. Leaves $189 to go on mine and $257 on DHs...

Now to decide how badly I'd want the last $22 in cashback. They have 4x fuel points on Visa gcs at Kroger again... Even paying fees, I'd net around $35 including the fuel savings. Even a little better if DH and I could split payment on one transaction...

How do you have all these GC offers at King Soopers? I've checked my app yesterday and today and I don't have any, including the 4x on Visa GCs :confused3
