I love credit cards so much!

That would be very nice. I have no followers lol I just made an account for the Marriott tweets. I’m @TravelMarissa

It’s Atlantis Bahamas

I followed you and retweeted as well. So disgusting! So sorry your vacation has been subpar. Luckily you have the tools to travel hack your way to a do-over that will hopefully be 1000 times better.

For anyone who enjoys Five Guys, check your Chase pay. There is an offer for $8 off when you order ahead! I’d rather have free Starbucks lol!

The closest one that takes it is 23 miles away nevermind there's two within 7 miles, sigh. I do also have the $10 on my chasepay but there's nothing close that I want to try since it's all new to me places. Most are types of food I wouldn't eat or the place seems like it might be shady. Since they are good til the end of the month I'm going to hope some new places get added or I'll give in and try one of the pizza places that's a few miles away.

Looking at my mileage on Alaska to make sure my Icelandair flights credited to see it much lower than I thought it would be. Didn't realize they didn't award the full mileage that it's based on class booked. Kind of bummed it wasn't 100%. So a bit over 5k instead of almost 9k. I wouldn't have had enough mileage this year for anything anyway since you can't earn them on Delta any more. But when their miles are hard to earn the about 3k diff is a lot.

Typing up my trip report tonight and no wonder it takes people so long to write them, it's like writing a term paper in length with notes of where to add stuff later. I have the DLP stuff written though so it won't take as long to write the rest. And the hotel reviews :)

There was an income requirement in the eligibility disclaimers on the back of the offer. I'm not sure how they would verify either, or if they really would. I did think it was weird how @calypso726 posted about getting the offer, and then we also each got one (I think my dh has gotten it twice now). Seems like such a great deal and especially if they aren't pushy!

Not idea how or why I got the offer. I assumed it was either the SPG card, AA frequent flier program or because we own DVC.

We are neither of your last two and our offers came after we got spg cards. OP is saying she doesn't have spg cards so there has to be some other component to it also. Either way sounds like it's a great offer!

Glad to see you back and posting. Yay!!!

Ah! I only happened to see the tag on your post. I haven’t been trying to catch up. Still in Tokyo and have now completed the Disney Parks Grand Slam. All 12 parks and 11 of them we went to this year! The right side of my face still doesn’t work but I’m having a blast. The Tokyo parks have ruined me for Disney parks. Best. Disney. Parks. Ever.

I was reading the Disney Tourist Blog this week about the Tokyo parks since we’re planning to go when we go to Japan in 2020. They also agree they’re the best parks ever! I’m already excite for this trip even though it’s more than 2 years away!

It is lightweight and could definitely be thrown in a regular washing machine idk why they wouldn’t wash it.
Hoping Marriott makes it right. My brother in law owns at Atlantis and has invited us several times but I never had the desire to go. We went to the Bahamas in 2016 on our Disney Cruise and I still didn’t want to go. The reviews on TripAdvisor also gave me pause.

Thanks for sharing your experience and posting this warning. Not that it matters, but sounds like they gave you a less desirable room because you booked on points? That’s no excuse though. Hoping you get a great resolution.

I think the timeshare is at the harbor side resort. I’m at the Royal towers. You can book all the towers with points except for the Reef I think. The Royal towers Atlantis considers Deluxe, but the Cove and reef are considered luxury. I would have booked the Cove for my dates but they didn’t have it available for a points booking.

oh yum!

and if u never used the order function before in chasepay, its $18 off total... :]

I was just looking at mine and wondering if they stack!

Ohhhh, wonder if mine actually accepts it. Can I assume so if it is listed in the chase pay app?

Me too. I always glance at TA to see what others have to say as I have high standards for cleanliness and updated bathrooms at hotels. The reviews at Atlantis weren't so good and now that we have a disboards reviewer that agrees I think we will just pass. It is a bummer, because we have the points and SW flies there...makes it an easy destination. I can't wait to hear how marriott makes this right for @speedyfishy. Kind of makes me worry about the brand as a whole though...

I just activated this offer on DH’s card. I don’t really see a downside besides the AF if you can meet the MSR. No hard pull, no new card adding to X/24, and you can downgrade it at the end of the year.
how do you find an upgrade offer?Edit..I just found this on both our cards...... is there a date when this offer ends that anyone can find? I can't see anything, but I'd like to stretch it as far as possible before I do this since I'm still doing MSR on the biz.... and this would be a PC right? so nothing should change in 5/24 to change this over, right? And.... what do you think? currently hold the no fee hhonors cards....so it's a no brainer to keep them, what can I PC to after a year to avoid 2nd AF?

So far Marriott Int. and Atlantis Bahamas reached out asking for more information and it got forwarded to their “team.”

I really feel bad that my complaining would prevent you from coming, but I would feel awful if you got here and I didn’t disclose the cleanliness issue and your room was dirty too. I really think the response to our issues has been lack luster because my SO and I are young and look like high schoolers. We checked in and they asked us which one of us was over 18. Maybe if we looked more like adults the manager would be more responsive to our complaints.

I remember having a blast here when I was in high school on a family vacation. Maybe I didn’t realize any issues because I was young, maybe we have bad luck and this isn’t the normal procedure, or maybe the hotel is just getting run down and needs an update.

Our towels by the pool also had stains on them. That doesn’t bother me that much because I’m dirty coming out of the ocean and shower when I get back to the room, but maybe what they are washing to clean things here isn’t efficient.

TPG has a review of the Escape Lounge at OAK. I know a few of you will be through this way soon and have (or are contemplating) Amex Platinum for this benefit.

I use this lounge all the time and love it. Was just there on Friday :) thanks for the link!

When I log into my chase freedom account, I can see the green bar showing my progress on the 5% categories spend. Is there somewhere that will give me the actual number amount I’ve spent so far?

Edit : never mind, should have done some more clicking around before posting. I found it.

I’ve never been able to find this info. Can you share where you found it?

I'm glad you had better luck with Marriott over Twitter than I did. Last time I had a Marriott issue at my conference in April it was literally weeks before Marriott responded.

I’m so disappointed in Marriott. I think we are going to try Hyatt next since we have Globalist status with them and look into Hilton’s.
