I love credit cards so much!

I told DH I wanted to go to Dubai and Abu Dhabi and he said "I don't think we could afford that." Actually, we could afford the hotels in cash... The Marriott Marquis cash rate for a room starts at US $165 a night!

That's pretty reasonable, better than I thought for the area.
So I've never done Ritz, are they fully converted to Marriott now? Is that 50k Marriott a night for the villas? That's not bad considering the cash price  (even with AAA discount )

I don't know all the details on Ritz-Carlton and Marriott either, but it seems like 50k a night is the rate! I'd gladly shell out those points. That's a good valuation and would be an incredible experience.

Has anyone PMd you...if not I will but first look at eBays sold listings for the brand of clothing...some are just not worth your time trying to sell and your better off donating and taking the tax deduction

@Michelle Smith Provided some info a few pages back. Yeah I figured I'd have to have DW take a peak at pricing, she was a bargain shopper and many things still have tags (Were way too cheap but then didn't fit or match up season wise) so prob won't be too hard to make back what she's got into them. LOL. Mostly was looking for shipping tips, ie Priority vs First Class then do you ship in poly bags for savings? If bags, do you use the Priority mail free ones or ULINE bags?

For sure. Peak pricing is like $800 a night, I'll spend points for that.

It's about an hour from the city center of Dubai, so a little bit of a hike but looks like it's totally worth it!! This is definitely going on my list.

That’s not so bad for a unique experience. Happy to add that into riding camels in the desert and learning to ski at the mall!

I'm literally just going through the Marriott list for Dubai and Abu Dhabi and picking out how I would do this! Three nights in Dubai at the Marriott Marquis, two nights at the desert resort, two more nights in Abu Dhabi... Remind me to apply for that new Marriott card for DH and I soon.

DH and I were supposed to go on a cruise that left out of Singapore last year with my parents. It had stops in Sri Lanka, India and ended in UAE. I had an entire after cruise trip in UAE planned including time in the desert. We had to cancel that trip and use the money for IVF, but obviously it was worth it because I couldn't imagine life without DD. We will get to all of those places at some point in the future. My parents and grandparents loved the trip. I know my Mom said she especially loved UAE and would fly Emirates and do a layover in Dubai again in a heart beat.

ETA: The cruise also went to Oman!

Hmmm, was approved for the CIC this afternoon and it's showing up on my Chase Biz login. Tried to get DH an employee card and got an error that I've never seen before: The Employee you submitted does not meet our eligibility criteria. If you feel you are receiving this message in error, please click "Add Another Employee" to re-enter your request. You can also call the number on the back of your card to speak to a customer service specialist.

Thoughts? Account too new? I omitted an SSN since it was not mandatory.

ETA: It was the SSN. Once I put it in, request went through with no issue. Odd that they don't make it a mandatory field, yet won't allow it to go through without it. Figured no harm putting in his SSN since it's a biz card/employee card, so no bearing on AU and 5/24 status.

My CIP finally arrived today! I have a Chase Freedom card already. The CIP currently doesn’t show up in my online account, is there any reason not to have it added to the same online account? I feel like I read something about people keeping their biz cards in a separate online account.

biz accounts require their own login. If you want them combined, u you need to link your personal accounts to biz account but not the other way around.

That’s odd. DH was approved this morning. I was able to go into his online Chase biz card account and request an employee card for myself. I specifically did not provide my SSN just in case, and the request went through fine. When DH called to request expedited mailing for the card, he was told both cards would arrive in 1 to 2 business days, so my request definitely went thru without the SSN.

Weird I was approved for the CIP on Monday..logged in and put in for an employee card for my husband without his SS number and it went through.....he’s not amused that he’s an “employee” lol

Awww just came to say that I also have an IVF baby!
Enjoy your baby and more opportunities of travel will come.

I was allowed to go through to help my daughter with the 2 babies. Had to show my ID and then I was issued a gate pass. We didn't go to a lounge although there was one right there across from the gate. She was doing gate check with a double stroller and 2 car seats, plus carrying (rolling) luggage, diaper bag, purse, etc.
OH WOW! (Nice to know they’ll issue them for extenuating circumstances like that!)

WOW. I am so impressed. that's genius about the office supply store and gift cards. And thank you for mentioning the Chase quadfecta.. this makes sense to me now! Ok, so now I know what I am shooting for but the question is the order in which I proceed...

I agree.. nothing like a good pro/con list!! :) I would love your opinion.. let me give you some more info! So I do plan to spend the $5K rather quickly as my ex is taking all the bedroom furniture and the kitchen set. So as soon as I get my card, I'm buying. Likewise I want to secure my DVC rental ASAP so as soon as I get a card, I am ready to book that as well. These two things will come out of my savings, so I have that cash on hand, but really should not spend more than that at this time. So that leaves my normal "everyday" spending that I would put on a credit card and that's about $1500 a month.

So in 90 days the max I could do is about 10000? I need to be smart and conservative so I agree, I don't know that I can just jump in and over-extend myself. What do you recommend in this situation to start with?
Yes, $10k is your max because it’s always best to be conservative with your estimates so at the end of the day imho that’s 2 cards. Yeah, bedroom and kitchen furniture definitely asap type purchases! So, personally I would apply for a CIP now due to Chase’s 1/30 policy since it has the biggest payout of all the Chase cards right now and then get the CSR after approval for the CIP since CSR has a 2/30 rule. I would chose these since CIP is the biggest payout and CSR is something you want. Since both of those will only put you at 4/24 it would leave the door open to other Chase Biz cards, like the CIC, later this year when you’re ready for more spend followed by personal cards.

Long term if you’re shooting for the quadfecta I would get a CIC later this year and then pick up your Freedom next year. Don’t want to apply for too many Chase cards too fast or you run the risk of Chase shutting you down (3 over a year seems pretty safe to me).

Whenever you post I see a guy my dads age around 65-68.
I think is the way you teach everybody giving so much great detailed and knowledge. So I am glad that you dig because it is a compliment!:thumbsup2
Besides the whole declining health/aches and pains stuff...a part of me would love to be an old retired person living on Captiva Island in Florida.

Probably a few additional things worth noting:
  • It earns 2x MR on every purchase up to a $50,000 cap
  • So the "targeted" offer is 20,000 MRs for $5k MSR (as noted)
  • The support offer is 10,000 MRs for $3k MSR (for those intimidated by "large" MSRs with AMEX)
  • The real sweet spot here is in 2 player mode - since P1 once they have a card can refer P2 and you each get 10k and the lower min. spend AND don't have to try to get "targeted"
  • This is an AMEX Biz card which as we already joked...they approve everybody
  • It also has a 0% interest period...AND since it's a biz card won't affect your utilization/credit score...so that's pretty cool that you could not pay things off for 15 months if you want to float the money elsewhere (maybe earn some interest).

If I were to apply for the Blue Business, would it count towards 5/24? MR are valuable to me since we fly out of a Delta hub. I was able to pull up the public 20k offer with $5k MSR.

I was 0/24, applied and approved for the Chase Ink Preferred April 2018 (just met MSR and the 80K+ points are pending on next statement, yeah!!), and was planning a CSR/CFP double dip.

Am I okay to do all three of these cards with just getting the Chase Ink Preferred recently? Is there a particular order I should apply (I know the Chase have to be on same day)?

Thank you so much for all of your help, I'm still trying to keep up with how fast this thread moves and I hope to soon be able to do more than just ask questions!! I used to be pretty good at this stuff but it was mostly before 5/24 and even lifetime language on Amex.

I shipped lots of custom Disney clothing for my etsy and used poly mailers from Amazon.

So with all the Ink approvals this week, has anyone been approved with less than $1k of revenue?

Keep hemming and hawing on the CIC application I planned to do today. Didn't help I got the alert that the CSR has been reported on Experian today. Don't know where the CSP is and nothing's showing on TU just yet. Don't know why it's throwing me off but I'm having trouble sticking with the plan as I have a fear of rejection (I so don't belong in this game then, right? :D) I keep running the numbers and we're good on the spend, just concerned with actually getting it first :)
