I love credit cards so much!

I'm guessing they are not the norm, and you will be fine. It was just really crazy. I can't imagine that happens too often. Otherwise, no one would stay there, right??

My daughter and I stayed there 2 years ago in a standard room and didn’t have a problem. I’m sorry you did, but nice you got the upgrade. My first time in a Hyatt Regency and I was impressed enough that it motivated me to get the Hyatt card the next year. Glad I did since the Hyatt points paid for our room in Maui.

In other news my SPG card also has a total of 7 offers for wine - I ordered from 2 previous clubs and shut them down after the special.

Hmmm - I probably shouldn't look at that. I used the Martha Stewart one multiple times - really liked the pinot noir. At the moment, I'm drinking crappy wine out of a box cause I gotta pay for the kids' college. Seriously. I am on a quest for the best boxed red wine. Suggestions welcome!

:sad: Dh's CIC app went from 30 days -> 2 weeks -> 7-10 days

Means denial right?

Hold out hope that it's just verification? Going from 2 weeks to 7-10 days...maybe that's what it was

I saw that a lot in the DP's online but does that make sense for someone who has a 15 year relationship with Chase, including checking and savings accounts? I guess I don't understand when verification comes into play but my dh has had a lot of Chase cards, including CIP...I'd love to think that verification was all that was needed!!

I ended up in verification on my 8th card I applied for from Chase back in 2016. They seemed to indicate they just wanted to make sure it was me applying for the card...(this was a personal card, not biz). I don't want to get your hopes up, but it is a possibility.

What do they ask for? My dh is NOT gonna want to call!

I’m going to side with @SouthFayetteFan for now and say there’s a good chance it’s fraud/identity verification. You’re not a newb and know how to count 5/24, so I doubt it’s that. Too much credit? Possibly. But based on DPs I’ve seen, verification can kick your application to 7-10 days. If it’s verification, they’ll ask basic stuff like name, address, SSN and phone number, stuff that would’ve been on the app. Almost all the DPs say Chase doesn’t ask about the “business.” And if you applied as a sole proprietor, they shouldn’t ask for a DBA, EIN, business license, tax forms, etc. I think worst case, I’ve seen people have to fax in a copy of their drivers license or utility bill with their name and address on it.

Eta other reasons for denial might be too little revenue, too few years in business, but I’m assuming DH was approved for the CIP on the same info.

I may have been naughty and signed DH up for the CIC this afternoon. It was an accident I swear! Really, I am all packed for Aulani tomorrow and I was getting fidgety. Needed a little churning to kill some time.

Speaking of which, where is my stinking CIP? I thought I would survive (/I was lazy and didn't want to call) without getting it expedited but now I'm regretting that choice. I want my shiny new card!

A slightly different but close enough situation....DH applied and was instantly approved for the CSR last weekend. When we got the card and I tried to verify it online I was unable to because they wanted to ascertain that it was indeed him who applied. (Of course it wasn't. It was me who applied.) They asked his mothers maiden name, email address, gave him a list of addresses and possible employers (all of which were fake), and needed to text or email a code for him to verify. My dh is a reluctant P2 and really didn't want to call in either, but with the call on speakerphone and me coaching him it was fine and over in about five minutes.

Dh is 3/24 so not that for sure. Yes, same info for CIP approval. I lowered two of his cards limits prior to applying but there was not time for it to have hit his CR yet. Alrighty, gonna start coaching him on calling in. He’s SO not gonna wanna do this. I wonder how deep my voice can go lol.

:offtopic: - I love Aulani! Have fun and if you go next door to Paradise Cove to swim with the sea turtles, take a picture and post please! That was my favorite part of our trip :love: since the area has that rocky barrier and I wasn't terrified there might be sharks (irrational fear of mine) so I actually got in the water. Safe travels @linzjane88 !
