I love credit cards so much!

Well I've made my mind up not to get the Capital One Venture card that I got the mailer for... because DH threw it away while I was out of town this weekend!! Lol, I'm not really that mad, after talking about it more on here earlier with @SouthFayetteFan I think I'm going to take another route.
It was funny though because when I told DH I was saving it he said "you're going to open ANOTHER credit card?" :rotfl2:I responded that I was applying for another one tomorrow morning... lol.

OK, I found the post I was referring to earlier. Are you sure it won't count?

"That is why a HELOC is listed as a revolving account and looks like a credit card account on your credit report. The credit report will show the HELOC’s balance, credit line and payment history.

A second mortgage — in the traditional sense — is a home equity loan. This is an installment loan secured by your home equity and requires fixed monthly payments over the life of the loan. A home equity loan would be reported as either a mortgage or an installment loan on your credit report."

DH just got an email for Amex gold biz card...75k MRs for $5k spend. Is that good?

Wait it is 50k/$5k then 25k/$5k (same time frame). So 75k/$10k.
That’s a lot of Amex spending.

I don’t know a lot about that card, but I think this is the card that comes with Google G suite which is $1,500. I saw some scheme on Reddit where a guy bought it got $1,500 reimbursed through Amex and then was asking Google for a refund. The comment I think got deleted. Not really helpful but the $1,500 reimbursement I think still counts for MSR. Lol

For those that responded so far @Ngwira @thevalley @calypso the only overlap without conflict is the 10th. Anyone up for breakfast/coffee or early drink that day? And anyone else that is there in Nov, it seems like there might have been one other. I fly out that evening so I'll need to be back to catch MDE between 1 and 2.

Which card is it? I got the Amex BGR with the 75k/5k offer. It was targeted also. If it's that offer, that is the highest offer for that card.

I'm at MVMCP the 8th and HS the 9th, but we're planning on doing pretty much QS only and we'll be at Universal on the 10th! Sorry :(

Maybe somebody else can clarify. My thought was it would count as they specify “cards”.

That is a good offer. However, depending on how you value MRs, the return on the second slew of spend is potentially < 10%.

How big of a purchase?

What about the Chase Marriott Rewards Premier Business card? Not subject to 5/24, and won't count against 5/24. 75k Marriott Rewards points after $3k MSR/3 months, first year AF waived. The bonus is equivalent to the 25k SPG that you would've gotten on the SPG Biz, and since Starpoints are going to be converted 3:1 to Marriott points effective 8/1/18 anyway...

About 12K. I have to do some home repairs. As far as I know now I can use an amex or a visa.

I have way too much credit extended to me by Chase right now over 5 cards. So, I'm a little reluctant to jump on the Marriott biz before I apply for either CIC or CIP (depending on the bonus). I'm getting ready to jump into UR's and don't want anything to mess that up.

Does Chase have a limit on the number of cards you can actually keep like Amex does? I probably should cancel a couple....

This offer would work fine for me right now. I looked at the Amex plat and it is 50K for 10K spend and then 25K more for an additional 10K spend.

The reply didn't seem to work ... "When I called to book the Disneyland hotel the rep said I could add tickets and pay cash since I didn’t have enough points. She also said I could even use only some of my points and pay the rest cash. I didn’t take advantage though."
"Yeah, my understanding was that you could use as many/few URs as you want at the time of booking, but that if you called back to add tickets later when you had more points to your package that you couldn't use URs again on the same package. I wonder if a viable work around could be buying tickets separately through Cruise and Tour? Of course, that wouldn't work for the OP's plan to purchase a dining plan."

Thanks for all the info. Since the room is still available, I guess that I can cancel and rebook over the phone. Still debating whether it is worth the money for the dining plan. Years ago it made sense, but now it seems like you basically break even and have to eat too much food! Thanks!

I could almost picture your picture but couldn't remember who else was going to be there. I sent a PM to keep more of the planning away from here.

He shared why they did away with the Amex business 50% back on paying airfare with points. He shared that the reason the Amex Blue business card exists is because of the change to the Amex Business Platinum regarding said 50% back.

Why did he say they did away with the 50% back on the Amex Biz Platinum? Living in a Delta hub, that option was fantastic!! Still use it at the 35%, but not as often. Got the Blue Business when it came out.

I had 9 or 10 at one point so I don’t think they have a limit ;)

However given the shutdown scares I’d probably limit it somewhat lol.

I'm thinking I should just close the Southwest and the Disney cards. Or maybe just the Southwest card as it has an annual fee as well as a high credit limit. The Disney is no annual fee and a much smaller limit.

I would love to combine my URs from my CF (used to be CSR) and my CIP to my DHs CSR, but I keep getting an error. I definitely had my CIP connected to my CSR, but I have disconnected that and I still can't transfer. Any suggestions? The Chase rep I talked to said I should add myself as an employee on DHs CIP and then I should be able to transfer the points. Should I try and call back in?

Depending on the age of the accounts I’d keep the Disney open but just alter it to a $500 or $1,000 credit limit. With no annual fee and the possibility of a referral from a friend (the Disney card seems to be the easiest one to find somebody I know to recommend, lol).

Don’t make a decision to keep or cancel based on limit. With a call you can move all of those limits around :)

OK thanks. I am still finishing up 2 amex MSRs so I am gonna hold off. If it is still avail later this summer maybe I will grab it.

I would actually just wait and try again maybe tomorrow. I tried for the first time to link my CIP to my CSR today and it wouldn’t let me. I wonder if the site is being glitchy right now.
