Seeking advice. I am almost done with my 3k min spend on my Chase Marriott card. I think I would like to start collecting URs as fast as possible for our next trip, which will be in 2019 London/Paris. I need to accumulate at least 600,000 UR points for Business class tickets for the four of us.

What should my next card be? I want the Chase Ink for 80k URs but I am at 5/25 . I'm pretty sure, at least. How do I check?

I think I may apply for a CSR for my husband, too. He is below the 5/25.

It would be best if he double dipped the CSP and CSR, that's the only way to get the bonus for both. If you don't, you'll be missing out on 50K URs.

I registered for Experian's free service - it lets you sort accounts by date opened. I think at this point it would behoove you to develop a long term plan of the next 12 months with which cards you and your husband plan to get. We could help develop that plan but to give effective advice I think you need to list each card you've each gotten and the month/year you were approved. Without that information we're all largely taking a shot in the dark on what you should do...

Interesting development At shoprite today- I tried to buy 350 gc with dh acct thru app, cashier couldn't figure out how to use the app- 2nd try she got the over limit screen- then the lock. Ugh. So I guess this is the lesson keep it lower than 300- dh will be thrilled to make another call lol

what is this extension for? I just joined a week or two ago also....

extension, so u get 3 more extra months. I op for that since the 2 sams club close to me are still opened. The one 25 miles away from me is closing... so yeah, im affected! i deserve the 3 months extension! *first world problem* ;)

Need a little advice! I want to try to earn CP for SW. My credit score is 813 and I am at 2/5 (3 dropped off at the new year). I applied online but I went through a link and not my Chase login because I didn't think the 50K offer would be on the Chase site. I have a CSR, Freedom and FU right now. Anyways, I applied for the Plus and got the 30 day wait. They asked a weird question about income asking if I wanted to add more. Combined we are at 180K with no rentals, etc. I thought that would be enough? Anyways should I wait for the Plus to (hopefully) be approved and then wait and apply for the Premier or should I apply today for the Premier and hope it goes through and avoid any additional hard pulls or am I screwed because of the 30 day wait. Thanks in advance!!

Call them back or SM them, ask them to match u to 50k. they should match you.

DISchurners Survey#1 Results AND Commentary
The Results of the survey are in - thanks to 41 of you who logged in and answered the questions! We have close to 80 members right now so over half participated in the survey. Keep in mind that the group was only started in Mid-October so it has not even been up for 3 months.

DISchurners Links Reported USED: 26
DISchurners Links Reported RECEIVED: 16

NON-DISchurners Links Reported USED: 19

So with those results a few comments:
  • Thanks to everybody who has taken the time to USE a link. The value of these varies between $50 and $200 but using an average value of $125, we have supported other DISers to the tune of $3,000+!! Great job everybody!
  • Significantly more links are reported USED than RECEIVED - which probably means people didn't realize that it came from here. I ALWAYS recommend that you send somebody a PM either on Reddit OR Here when you use their link. 1) It's just nice to let them know and they can thank you and watch to make sure the points post. 2) Perhaps if they use a link down the line they'll use yours so win-win!!
  • Obviously the larger the group grows the more support we can pass along. 19 Links were used from other sources (either because a link wasn't available yet for that card OR because it was before the group existed).
  • Many people indicated in the comments that they hadn't used a link yet but planned to when the right opportunity came along. Others were so appreciative that they had a link or 2 used, ALL of the comments were positive.
  • Many folks thanked me for setting the group up - and I just have to say Thank YOU all for joining. When I set this up on a whim that one night I figured we'd have maybe 10 or so of us regulars there and now to have almost 80 people I'm just shocked and excited at the support!
If you're wondering what this is all about and aren't yet a member...Check it out! Just PM me and @Albort with your Reddit name to join. If you don't have a Reddit name it's simple to register for one!

Thanks again to everybody that completed the survey!

I must agree that it was a great idea to create DISchurners. I would never have joined Reddit if it wasn't for this( too intimidating). Thanks to @wendow, I have even learned how to put my own links up. I don't really have any other social media like facebook, so I do not have many ways to share links. I've also used two links
and plan to use more in the future. Thanks @Albort and @SouthFayetteFan for DISchurners!

Do Disney resort hotels categorize as travel on CSR? My annual fee is coming up, so I figure I’d charge $300 of my stay to it if it will.

Thanks

I'm waiting on some big spend I have coming up before I move on opening my cards. But now that I am in the game (still new), I am finally trying to max points on the existing card I have. To me this was big, I used apple pay for the first time! Yeah bonus points on my Chase Freedom. Also moved my phone and cable to auto pay on the CC instead of the bank account. May seem small, but I'm figuring out how to work the cards to my advantage. Can't believe it took me this long to figure this out.

hehe, keep in mind, it WILL become an addiction... ;)
LET THIS BE A WARNING TO YOU NOW!!! :P

Free 3 months...maybe because of the closures. Who knows. Mine isn't on the list of 63 closing, but it let me extend for 3 mths anyways.

i'm just amazed at how high people SW cards are. mine is literally the lowest limit i have, 2k. i was a little surprised at how low it was when i got it because people have been throwing credit at me for years (especially Chase), just about every new card had a significantly higher limit than the last. But then i realized since i'm only going to use it for SW and similar travel purchases i'll never get close to the limit anyway. i just assumed most cards had lower limits as well... totally incorrect apparently ;)
[/QUOTE]

I think they dole out approx 10% of income as the limit on each card. Ours are all right about that amount. As income has increased each year so have our initial credit limits proportionately. We have probably 7 chase personal cards between us, all with $25-35k limits. Shocking really to extend that much credit. Ha. I read somewhere how the max total credit limit is calculated but can't recall what it was.

Are you using the app in Sams to scan your items yourself and skip the checkouts. It is amazing. I also often order online and they have my order pulled and ready. I can just grab it from the service desk and run. I get shop thru chase points for those orders too. whoop whoop! I can't fault a company for closing down stores. Everything is going to online anyways.

Download the app, scan items as you place them in your buggy. Press pay at the end of your shopping. Show the dude at the door your app. Go on your merry way. Easy peasy! I love breezing past all the people waiting in line who apparently have no clue this exists.

As for click n pull, I just order the stuff online for store pickup. It is pretty much just like Walmart grocery pickup. Only difference is you have to go inside to grab it. Boo. But great for when you want your hubby to pick up groceries. haha. I do go thru chase shopping and get UR points. I also get them from chase shopping for Walmart grocery. To do that, I click Walmart on chase shopping and it takes me over to the Walmart.com site. Somewhere up towards the top is a little word that says grocery. I click that to get to the grocery pickup stuff. I can't get it if I go thru the app, so use your desktop.

I just wanted to add on to this, since most cards have a limit of how many people you can refer in a year. If you let someone know you've used their link, then they know if they've maxed their referrals for the year, and could add a note or remove their link so we can continue supporting each other.

Thanks again @SouthFayetteFan !

When did they close your card? I opened my Discover It on Nov 10th and they did not close the statement
until December 28th. I thought that was very unusual. I have another older discover that closes the 11th of
every month I was thinking about asking them to match the closing dates but decided not to.

Contrast that to my new Jet blue Plus card i applied dec 31-jan1st....I JUST received Jan 10th and the statement
is already closing the 26th!

they opened it 11/26 and matched the closing to my existing discover card of 12/11 ( but it took a week to get the card so i only got to use it about 10 days before the cycle ended)
Since yours closes the 11th too, it's either a coincidence or discover sets the 11th as the billing cycle. although that's really odd to have such a long cycle.

My Discover closes on the 27th, granted I opened it in 2014... but I had a very long first statement like jujubiee, like a month and a half. I actually logged on multiple times to check that I hadn't missed it, because it was my first credit card.

That's awesome! To me there are three kinds of expenses:
1) Things that can go on a card with no fee (ALWAYS pay with a card)
2) Things that can go on a card but you pay a fee (calculate if it's worth it for a min. spend or whatnot)
3) Things that cannot go on a card (booooooo I don't like these expenses!)
