I'm not sure if you can downgrade early. You could always try and all they can say is no. I just logged into my account and sent a secure message asking for the change. They sent me the terms of the new card and did the change right away. No call needed! This was after the AF hit, so maybe you have to change to a Sapphire first if you want to do it sooner.
Did you have to wait for the new credit card to arrive to use it or did your Sapphire become a Freedom until the new card arrived?

Did you see the Discover Bank online savings $150/$200 bonuses? Today's the last day to open for the bonuses (though it seems Discover offers these periodically). DoC has info.

Will take a look! Thanks.

I don't know about how @wendow feels, but you'd have to pay me much more than $200 to hit the TJ's in our area, even if I could buy a bunch of bananas in separate transactions to knock out the requirement! :rotfl2:

I'm guessing you hit a different one than I do. I go to the Littleton one and it is easy to get in and out of and pretty quiet (other than weekends).

No, I didn't have to wait. The Sapphire became a Freedom, same acct number and they told me specifically in the SM that I could continue to use my old card until the new one arrived.

We definitely hit different ones. I'm so out of touch I didn't realize there were any stores south, d'oh! I've been by/around the one near Cherry Creek and it's always a mess. I always just go when I visit my hometown in another state :rotfl:

i havent tried this but im curious if getting $.05 worth a gas would work.

My mom signed up for the $500 bonus at Wells Fargo that requires 10 transaction, We have a Trader Joes like a mile away. I told her her goal is to walk 10 times within the month, get a banana and eat it on the way back from Trader Joes. She did exactly that. :P

My Delta Amex came in time for my trip!!! I leave Fri so I was concerned but here it is in my hot little hand! Time to go spend some $$$$! Which sounds like a lot more fun than it is as I'm just going to be paying the pile of bills I have at my desk...

Hi all, we're back from our Halloweentime trip to Disneyland! We actually came back Sunday night, but it's amazing what four days away can do to throw off everyone's schedules. Still trying to catch up with everything right now.

We stayed at the Hilton Anaheim on a combination of points (mostly from my wife's business travels) and cash (a little over $250, enough to trigger the Amex Offer for a $50 statement credit. As a Hilton Honors Gold member through Amex Platinum, we were upgraded to a high level room with a pool and partial Disney view. We even watched the fireworks from our room one night. I made sure to sign up for every Hilton bonus before our trip and earned about 17k Hilton Honors points and some United miles from our stay.

We renewed DW's and my APs, got a 2-day park hopper for our LO, had Mickey's Halloween Party tickets, all paid for with Disney Gift Cards bought with at the very least a 10% discount. This was our second year doing a Halloween party, but I'm not sure we'll do Halloweentime again next year. The CMs passing out treats were so ho-hum — some were busy chatting among themselves and mechanically dropping a few pieces of candy into everyone’s buckets or bags, and others just mumbled a disinterested “Happy Halloween.” It didn’t make us feel very festive. But there was a great CM minding the parade crowds near Plaza Inn who spoke to our daughter in an unexpectedly perfect Mickey Mouse voice! So there are still good people keeping the magic alive! And October is too hot! Thankfully, we avoided the 100º+ weather a week or two ago, but it was still 87-89º the few days we were there. I recall it was about as hot last year. And yet the parks were packed last weekend — especially on Saturday — even though SoCal APs were blocked (we assumed because it's the weekend before Halloween). We were all recovering from colds so the heat and crowds only added to our misery.

Good news is we did some shopping and scored! My wife got several poison apple ice cubes and was lucky enough to be there when the Emporium restocked the rose gold Minnie Mouse ears on Saturday. I got two Haunted Mansion tiki mugs from Trader Sam's and the new Starbucks You Are Here coffee mugs for Disneyland and California Adventure to add to my collection.

We're going back again in about 3 weeks for Thanksgiving. Next time we'll be staying at the Disneyland Hotel, which I burned quite a good amount of UR points to book. But it'll be nice to be in the Disney bubble and just upstairs of the Thanksgiving Dinner in the Grand Ballroom, which is something we do every year.

i was one of the few people who stocked those carts, they give out a few because its just too much. These distribution sites were doing around 30lbx7boxes every 15 mins during peak hours.

I slept well that night.

Oh, I'm not complaining about how much candy was being passed out. There's no way we can eat all of what we did get, and my wife plans to take some of it to work for her office mates. What bothered us was almost all the CMs we encountered on the treat trails seemed so disinterested or miserable. I get that it was hot, and this was probably their 20th or something party, but at the same time we paid $120 per ticket and our little girl had been looking forward to Mickey's Halloween Party all year since last year. At least show some enthusiasm for the little kids and keep that magic alive for at least one more year, ok?

I'm sorry it was just ho-hum. Our MNSSHP at WDW was awesome though we went in September which was too hot for us (90's that week). We had a blast and I've been bummed we couldn't manage this year At WDW they just have huge barrels of candy and tell you to take as much as you like. Pretty much everyone was enthusiastic. We didn't wear costumes but had Halloween tshirts which I was complimented on. And for the parade we found a seat right outside one of the stores. 4 of the CMs from the store stood behind us, singing and dancing the whole time. One said she is at every MNSSHP, either working or attending.

As for weather, I can say I wouldn't enjoy the hot weather either but we had about 38 degrees here today for trick or treating. Brrr

if you shop amazon, you can now stake Marriott More on top of it and earn more Marriott points. makes me wonder if you can stake jetblue as well... although gift cards dont work with Marriott points.

edit: earn 1000 points bonus on first transaction!
