I love credit cards so much!

DH got a denial letter from Chase SW card for too many accounts open. He was removed as AU from 3 of my cards last month, so should be 3/24 (I checked his credit report). He called recon tonight & was told per the info they have on the computer, his app is still pending. What? He got a letter already, how can it be pending?
I told him he can try again in a day or two. Anyone have a problem like this? Any ideas besides HUCA?

I think I've seen the occasional mention on here of opening checking accounts for the bonus cash, but I had tuned it out, as I'm lazy and it seemed like work to change direct deposits, etc. Well, I got an email from US Bank that prompted me to look into it, as I could get a $200 bonus for just making two bill pay payments and didn't have to do direct deposits. While I was looking into that (via the blogs, etc.), I learned that I could make an initial deposit of up to $500 with a credit card (and it just posts like a regular purchase). Well, that was too good to pass up, as we're working on hitting our Chase Hyatt spend right now. So, as long as everything works like it should, I should be getting $200 as a bonus AND got $500 towards my CC spend. For the two bill pay amounts, I did the minimum of $25 and used them to pay other credit cards that I've run things through, so that I don't waste $50 of spending that I could have put towards my Hyatt spend! Once everything posts, I think I'll do the same thing for my husband and get another $200. :thumbsup2

Thanks for sharing about this. I do the 'bank account churning' thing too but I rarely mess with checking accounts because of the direct deposit requirement. Good to know the US Bank one doesn't require that!

The most recent account I opened for the bonus was a Capital One savings. They give a $200 bonus after opening the account with 10k. Bonus posts 6-8 weeks. No fees to open or maintain and no min balance required to keep open after the bonus hits. Seemed like a good deal to me!

Has anyone asked Chase for the extra 20k UR points on the CIP? I want to ask but have no idea how to word my message. Looking for DP's or link to reddit where this is discussed. Thanks!

@CyndiLouWho I am not experienced with what you should do in your situation. Others will have better input. I just hope it works out for you and you get the SW card!

My Dolphin confirmation number, booked thru SPG, is 9 digits, starting with 1. It worked fine in MDE. So it seems MDE accepts numbers of varying lengths/combos, except the one @wendow was given by Chase :(
you're probably right- I didn't even check what my old bookings looked like (all thru points on SPG) I decided to give it a shot thru UR b/c it was a decent deal, still unsure if it is or not actually since using spg points means no extra taxes-and I don't know how UR booking is handled as far as that stuff. We shall see I guess, but not for months!

I can get in the site but my dashboard keeps showing as everything blank. Then if I can actually pull it up and search hotels, the site keeps kicking me out and making me re-login over and over. It's definitely acting weird today.
yeah, mine too.... I could putz around the site for a while, but then it refused to allow me to do anything...I figured it was time to clear it all out and try another day

That would be my luck lol!

I do wonder though if MDE isn't already set up to accept Swolphin numbers even though they are not standard Disney conf#'s. You know? I'm hoping Chase is providing accurate conf#'s now but it's hard to really know since Swolphin is not a true Disney resort.
well, I think the Swolphin #'s are different from a standard disney # anyway (?) I'm just glad I could avoid all that hassle you went through!

I didn't bother because I had seen Reddit DPs that it didn't work after those first few days, especially if you applied online and not in branch.

A mystery Reddit person used my CIP referral link, so I already have 20K UR in my account when I'm still working on my min spend. That was a nice surprise!

some bank's ACH counts as a direct deposit. DoC has a list on what qualifies. I use ally bank for most as ally bank has many places that see that as a direct deposit.

You would say something like, hey u saw a flyer(if you can find one) that u werent aware of the 100k, was wondering if chase would match it. attach flyer if you have one, send it off.

In case anyone was wondering :rolleyes1 I can confirm that the taxes and fees for flying from JFK-HKG in Singapore Suites is about $57 and change per person. What I am really trying to say is WE BOOKED THE SUITES  Yes, I know that's a shameless brag but I can't help myself or contain the excitement and this is the only place I could share my exuberance where people would understand why I am so stoked!

So we were able to rectify my boneheaded mistake when originally transferring in points. They must come from your own credit card points to your Krisflyer account and can't come from another person's credit card. DH got his points sent back to his card and they verified that all the other points were transferred in correctly.

On the upside, we were allowed to hold the award booking until all was settled. I can't believe we get to do this!!! The ticket prices for our flights were $24,000  We are also flying less than direct flights just to have this experience. This morning the side by side suites seats were available to confirm. Before DH and I were on opposite sides of the plane. Now we get to do the whole double bed in the air thing. Would it be mad wishful thinking to hope they sprinkle rose petals on your bedding?

I stumbled upon this thread and it has been life changing! I've learned a lot from catching up on this thread over the past few weeks and have already applied for the southwest plus card, when it had the 60,000 signup and just finished meeting the minimum spend on that. I also went for the Marriott card and am waiting on that to ship for tuition payment and vacation spending coming up. I'm working on deciding what my next card should be since right now I have nothing for my everyday spending or household expenses that can be billed to credit cards. I am familiar with the Chase rule so I'm thinking the CSP. My travel goals are London in March, so thinking about getting the Barclaycard AA and the Citi AA card which I received an offer for a 60,000 bonus for, not sure if that is good or not? It expires on 7/31. I'm also interested in the Hilton card, the no fee. Also going to Disneyland in May but planning to use my southwest points for the flight and just pay for the rest as we are staying on property. After that looking at Niagara Falls, next August.I would be interested in the SPG Amex for points for that. Last trip being NYC next October which I will use the Marriott points for. Any help on which order to do this in would be greatly appreciated as I want to get the ball rolling but not be so quick and not think things through. Thanks

note- the Chase portal works fine on firefox, but not chrome. Also a question- since I booked a swolphin stay on UR points, how do I calculate for tax? it seems it should be included on the taxes and fees line, which I know is separate from 'resort fee'- its simpler using SPG points b/c tax is included with that

i think reddit's /r/churning needs some of your expertise. --> https://www.reddit.com/r/churning/comments/6lgr8s/churning_for_disney_walt_disney_world_megathread/

I do need data from anyone who has used travel credit to offset room or tickets, or DVC. Also looking for best cards for lol/24 churners, and any input from people who have used MR/TY in some capacity for Disney World.

post them over or i can post them over! spread the knowledge! :]

its got something to do with chrome's cookies. Every time the portal doesnt work, deleting my cookies makes it work again. You need to kill both Chase.com cookies and Ultimaterewards.com cookies.

That looks so amazing, congratulations! Although, have you noticed the TV? The Simpsons and First Class Suite are not generally terms I would place in the same sentence...I would feel like I was supposed to be watching the ballet or something.

Wow, that looks awesome!! How exciting!!

So I've now joined the club and applied for CIP. I actually just became a consultant for a direct sales business in June, so I technically do have a legit business now. I suppose that's why I felt a little better about applied, just in case I need to talk to someone about it. All I could do for revenue is put in an approximation of what I think I'll have based on the last few weeks of sales. Got 30 days message, which I was already expecting. Thought I would wait until Monday-ish to call the automated line for an update, but I have no self control.....LOL. Already called and still says 30 days. Guess I should wait until at least tomorrow to see if it changes.
