I love credit cards so much!

I've never been able to get it to work to use 1 point and then a GC or another CC to pay, it charges the balance to the card connected to the points you're using. Is there a minimum purchase amount required to get the $15 credit?

$60

It always takes me a few tries but I've managed it with Amex and MR. I haven't been targeted for a Chase one though. You also need to make sure that what you are purchasing is both sold and fullfilled by Amazon. If not, it doesn't work.
Hmm, maybe that was my problem. Oh well, I'll keep it in mind for future. I just checked my Amazon account and I don't seem to be targeted for the $15 off $60 deal anyway.

Yup 3:1 for the win! Also just to add - if anybody was wondering these conversions are instant. If you log out and log back in after making a transfer your SPG and Marriott accounts will show the updated balances.
*If you log out and log back in after*

This is a very important step so you're not panicking like I was the first time I did this... :rotfl:

I have a question about trips booked through the Chase travel portal that maybe someone here can answer.

I booked flights for this July using UR points through my CSR. What happens if I product change that card before the trip? I assume the reservation stays as-is, but will I lose the travel protections from the CSR if I no longer have the card? I was planning to PC the card before my AF hits 6/1 but I'd hate to have no protection if something happens with our flights in July.

You have to change payment method to the UR card. Then select use .01 point, then scroll down and make sure the use gift card balance is checked.
No dice. I tried again, it won't go to the default gc balance. Sigh. Now I get to decide if I want to spend on the cc to get the $15,or get my customary 6% back using gc from the grocery store. on a brighter note, got the SM saying to wait a billing cycle or two to get my 10x points so there's that....

Sadly, I was not targeted for the offer or I'd do it and screen shot step by step. Next time I am targeted for an Amex MR or Chase UR Amazon offer I will try to remember to screen shot my steps and post instructions here.

So less than a week into my SPG Biz card, I am already 85% through my minimum spend, before the $1000 puppy charge (assuming my plastiq tuition and rent will count). Sooooo, that has me wondering, should I refer DH for one? He never sells anything, is it too risky, do other people do SPG Biz for both spouses?

Joint tax return...joint business! That's how I look at it. My wife and I have referred each other for AMEX biz cards no problem. Maybe you guys are 50/50 owners in that "business" ;)

Amex hands out biz card like candy. i'm sure ur fine. :]

Looking at Universal Tickets again...

Looks like it is 19093 UR for a 2 day 2 Park PTP. I can upgrade that to a season pass for about $13, I think.
If I have figured it out correctly, it is about a 1.2 redemption rate. I don't think that is terrible, right? Not the best but could be much worse, I think.

According to the internet, you can also get Universal tickets with MR at a not-terrible rate. But I can't find exact numbers on that and don't have any MR. Anyone know anything about that?

I'd do it!

Finished my SPG Biz spend super early by knocking out last $3K with BMO Harris accounts, kinda nervous doing it that way but the data points on it being ok for SPG Amex are solid and I'm fairly good with bank accounts so I ought to be able to keep them all fee free until I have to close them in the next few months. Not something I usually do but I knocked it out early because I saw US Bank's pre-qualified page for me had Altitude Reserve with the 50K bonus offer. I figured I'd never qualify for that credit card due to low income but I've had a US Bank Account since they ran a promotion at the end of June & I kept it open. I'd checked pre-approvals before but only saw their cash cards, and then flex perk cards and but new this time was Altitude Reserve (I have no USBank cards). Applied and got a message that said I'd receive a decision in 7-10 days, followed by a page with a balance transfer offer (even though I had stated I wasn't interested in a balance transfer when asked in the application). Someone on Reddit says this should mean I have an approval and should get the card soon. Ever suspicious me is still not certain so I'm keeping my fingers crossed this pre-qualified thing worked out and I can start working on meeting the minimum spend on an Altitude Reserve! (Which, for anyone who doesn't know, you want to keep 100% legit spend. They are extremely trigger happy to shut people's accounts down, I will not be funding a bank account with that puppy if I get it!)

Don't I know it! No plan at the beginning of the year and 3 weeks later I'm 2 new credit cards and 1 pending application down the rabbit hole...
After this I have to stop until late Fall when I want to start working on a companion pass for 2019/20. I don't want to test Chase on the BIZ cards, I will just have to be done LOL.

I used chase pay at shoprite (well, my husband did, his CSR) on Saturday. Charge posted and he only got 1x UR. Are the bonus points delayed or should we SM?

I only got 1x on my CSR too. I’m at WDW so I’ll probably give it a few days and wait until I get home to SM, but if you contact them let us know what they say. It was a public offer so I can’t imagine we’ll have an issue if we contact them.

Here's the response I got through SM:

"Upon review of the Shoprite transaction in the amount of $xx.xx on January 21, 2018, I can confirm that Chase Pay was used and you qualify for the bonus rewards.

The Chase Pay promotion with Shoprite stores or Shoprite.com purchases earn a total of up to 10% Ultimate Rewards, with a maximum of $400 in overall purchases between January 1, 2018 through February 4, 2018.

Please note, the 10% Ultimate Rewards points includes 1 point on non-bonus categories and an additional 9 points for the offer. You must use the Chase Pay with Sapphire Reserve checkout at the Shoprite stores and Shoprite.com to earn the 10% bonus points. Please note that the bonus
points will not be viewable online until after your statement cycles closes.

Your rebates are calculated after each statement closing date. Your billing statement closes on February 18, 2018, and we ask that you allow 24 - 48 hours for your reward balance to be updated online."

Not how any of these types of things have ever worked before, so I find it odd. The "extra" UR have always shown up when the charge posts on other promos. But okay, I'll wait and see. Next statement doesn't close until February 18 so it's a while to wait. Also, the transaction was Jan 20, not 21, and I referenced Jan 20 in my original message.

I'm still working on SPG Biz, because I figured it'd slow me down too... was thinking about doing an Ink card when I am under 5/24 again this summer. But all I can think about is my next card! (even though we're low on spending opportunities right now...) Marriott Biz? SPG Biz for DH? Marriott Cards for him? Ink? He's 4/24 right now, and another card drops off in March. I just want to keep him open for SW CP for 2019-2020.

The worst part about this hobby is waiting for approvals/denials. It's been like an hour and all I can think about is "was I approved? denied? why? what if I have to recon?" and I've checked my online us bank account twice already. Ugh, guess this is where I learn the patience lesson I refused to take to heart as a kid...

Yes - go for it! More Amex offers!! :-)

Edited: Oops - I see you already applied. Things move quickly here - lol.
