Ugh, maybe. I wish I'd put the Staples offer on my Hilton card instead of the Staples and Lowes offers going on my SPG card. Then I could have split up some of the spend.

@DisneyMandC that sucks!! Amex is crazy they are driving away good customers. I was going to recommend trying for DH but you said he wants to get under 4/24. I think the idea of trying for the BBP is a good one. The bonus is nothing great but it’s a great everyday card and easy to put some spend on. Or you could try it for DH and then refer yourself to it in a few weeks after some spend on your current cards?

Cruise experts: I booked with CSR (using points) for our 7 day cruise in February Caribbean. Do I need the extra insurances out there. We obviously have health insurance but I know things get dodgy when you leave the country.

If yes how much coverage. Prices range from $150-$300 so quite a range

For the Chase banking bonus, once my Savings bonus posts + the extra $, am I safe to move those funds out? I could be earning a much better interest rate on that $10k else, 90 days is bad enough. And I believe I need to keep the checking open for 6 months?

Yep. We left the minimum in each account to waive the fees and then transferred everything out until we could close it. Double check that they haven't changed it, but it was $300 in the savings (or 5k combined in all accounts, but with that interest rate, that wasn't happening after the savings bonus posted.) Checking you can park 1500 min or keep $500 in DD's going each month. We chose to park the 1500 as we had the float at the time.

Yeah, I might try that one in a few weeks. I just started the Staples and Lowe's purchases on my SPG biz, and I'll try to put some more spend on my Hilton Biz too. DH needs some more AA miles for his flight to Japan, so I'll apply for that tonight. Just very irritating- I like Amex cards and want more of them!

When are people seeing anniversary RR credits? Are they sometimes coming way after annual fee posts? My one year on both my premier and plus is this month and I’m cancelling both. I’m in MA so I’m thinking it’s better to wait to see the points even if it takes a while then get it prorated?

Regarding the AmEx Biz Gold waived AF from support links - AmEx may have fixed the glitch. Reports starting to come in that approved applications this afternoon are showing the AF in the agreement. 2 business cards in the last 8 months, how is this happening to me?!?!

This makes sense. I've never gotten the pop-up and I put spend on almost all my Amex every month. I have 8 cards (between pers and biz) and dh has 5...All but 1 are within the last year. I hate having that many payments each month to keep track of (since there is also Chase, barclays and citi) but I want to make sure I spend on my Amex to keep them happy.

My guess is also on the account history and @miztressuz could also be onto something with the Gold/Rose Gold possibly carrying a different set of rules behind the scene. Perhaps, it could be tied to magnitude of sign-up bonus?

I've gotten 4 business cards and 3 personal from Amex in the last 12 months (5 credit cards and 4 charge cards), but I have pretty regular spend by rotating the cards based on offers, purchase protection, and category spend. I did max the BCP at the grocery store for giftcards and normal groceries last year. According to Amex, I've been a member since 2009. I'm getting ready to try for the Biz Gold tonight I think, after @platamama reminded me of the no AF through referral link. I'll likely be self-referring as well, so I guess I can be the DP on a number of fronts if this works.
