I love credit cards so much!

Trying to figure out my next step. Had applied DH for the Citi AA Business. He was denied - just got the letter. Too many recent inquiries. I didn't think Citi Denied anyone.. Was hoping to keep alternating that card between us and pay the mortgage with them and rack up points. That foiled those plans. He ( AKA I have) opened 6 cards since May with 4 of them being Business cards. Kind of surprised on that.

Anyway - it is my turn to open a new card. I am 4/24. I have $3,000 to put on it right away. (but not AMEX) So, a $5,000 spend is fine. I got the CIP on 8/9/18. I would like to go for CIP #2 - is it too soon. Would it make a difference if I went for that or a different Chase Business Card? I want to apply on December 1st as I went 4/24 on 11/7 but want to be safe when applying.

Never would have expected another DIS-er to be SO close. I work downtown about a block and a half from the Gallery, so it'll be easy to pick-up the $10 GCs from Cheesecake Factory once I get my hands on the Amex Gold...soon. But, agree that for those coming into the city, it's a pain and $$$ to park and they don't have curbside. At Columbia Mall, if you are running in for GCs or pick-up, the bakery staff has always advised me to park curbside even for takeout inside because I always mention how difficult it is to park. I parked in the curbside area when I went to get the $25 GCs over Thanksgiving for the 2 slices, and it was a lifesaver ha.

Arundel has definitely gotten overcrowded, with all the development in recent years. We stopped venturing out there for that reason and because Columbia has expanded just as quickly, so opted to stay local.
Well I ended up at the Columbia Mall and did exactly that. Parked at the take-out, grabbed my GC and headed back to work. My office is located off of 695 at Security Blvd so I get face that "fun (brutal) traffic the days I come into the office. That's why I typically work 6-2:30 to try and miss as much of it as possible. We are hardly ever go down to the Harbor since we're a mile from PA so we tend to head north when we go out from home.

so while I wait and wait (and get very frustrated) for my SW pers approval, I have a question on Chase offers. I have never had them before, and I am wondering how they work. I have one for 10% back on Lowes, on my IHG. My Lowes purchase from Thanksgiving day finally posted. Will the 10% just be posted as a credit to my account like the AMEX offers? Do you usually get any confirmation you used the offer, and how long do they usually take to show up?

used my CSR which had the Chase Lowe’s offer on it today to buy a $100 disney gift card....will report back if I see a credit on my account....no confirmation on the offer as of yet

Ha, ha. I am pretty sure we don't have Grubhub up in Manchester. I believe there might be one Uber in all of Carroll County.

I actually have to go Arundel Mills since I decided to make my own Countdown to Christmas calendar for DS and need to pick up Harry Potter Lego men to go into the Chinese take-out boxes I am using for it. I am sure it will be just as much of a mess as Columbia Mall though.
I just expect all malls to be crowded and have rude people. So when you go and get nice customer service like you should its a better experience. I've gone during the week and during school hours and its not been bad.

I’m the opposite of you..lol... accumulating URs...hitting the MSR and it’s too soon for another Chase card so have started looking into how I’d use MRs

yeah we finished the spend really quickly on DHs last chase card and the freedom was only $1500 that was used for xmas gifts and gift cards. now if only DH could get the platinum to pull up. really hate that we aren't working on a spend right now and I have a few bills that need to be paid.

I’m waiting to jump in to cards again in the next few months when we start a big home remodel/addition so I’m subsisting on my CSR as is my husband. For the Chase offers on the app, are those in store only? Can they be combined with shopping through the portal to get the bonus shopping points and the % back? No matter how many I add, I only have 61 offers none of which is Vineyard Vines.
Oh, one more thing, I do have the Chase 10% Staples offer. Can I buy Disney gift cards at Staples and they trigger the 10%? Or at Lowe’s?

I had an idea to put on my Christmas list and now I'm all jazzed about it. I tend to have trouble coming up with things to tell people, even though every year I swear I'm going to keep an amazon wish list or something, it never happens  I feel like it's worse now too because in DHs family all of the adults still buy each other gifts, so I need even more things. I was looking through Shop Disney for ideas, looking at all of the cute holiday items... and the Christmas dishes! Someday, I'd like cute Christmas dishes to use. But whoa, enough for a whole set is pricey from Disney (and lots of other options too, I think). But... what if I put a set on my list each year, like a plate, bowl, and mug? And then I have a place setting from each year someday down the line for my table? :goodvibes

Can’t hurt to call and see what they say about the anniversary points

I called this morning about my missing SW anniversary points. The Chase rep looked and pretty much agreed that I should have gotten them by now and put in a ticket to the Marketing Dept (?). I asked how long it might take and he said 1-2 statements. Not sure what I'll do if it really takes that long, not planning on keeping the card open. I didn't ask about a retention offer because I want the 3k points! My bill's due on 12/4 so I'm hoping they post before then. I supposed I could always pay the bill and then ask for a refund, but not sure if it' worth the hassle.

Pretty sure for now I’m going to concentrate on using the Chase card that gets me the most URs per category so looking at using....CSR..dining and travel....CIC...staples, gas, phone and internet, CIP for eBay

Since I’m not sure how we would use MRs....I’m not willing to pay annual fees right now....only card I’m considering Is the business blue plus

On the Chase offers, I have had one Starbucks purchase credit. The amount shows up under my "redeemed" offers, but hasn't been credited to my card or anything. This may be because the offer doesn't end until 12/7. I know that for the same offer system on my BoA card, the credit amount is deposited into my checking account with them. I don't know if this is something I selected a really long time ago and forgot about or what.

I’d be careful about gcs online from offers cause they often code as third party.
Should be fine in store. Worked for me at Lowe’s and Dicks for gc purchases. Pay attention to the max cash back. For the most part it caps with about a $100 purchase

I am happy to report that calling in for the AmEx Business Platinum still results in the 100K MR/$10K MSR offer. Thank you again @Lain for your help and for the contacts.

I now need to cancel another AmEx personal platinum card. I called in the last time I needed to cancel, but this is for my wife, and she hates calling. Can I cancel via chat?

I think its automatic with BOA. My 46 cents showed up in my account as a credit last month.

I did in store nothing is showing but I only purchased gc at both staples and lowes. staples I did a $50 & $25

If I purchase a gift card at Office Depot, will I get 3x UR points on my CIP?
CIC is the one that is for office supply stores

The Vineyard Vines offer we are referring to was on the AmEx cards. If you have any AmEx cards, I would check there.

Need some advice. I'm trying to buy one way tickets to Chicago. I can buy two for $140 each but if I try to add the third they are all $376 each. Should I buy one for myself and my 14 year old at $140 then buy my 15 year old's ticket separately at $376. I really want a non-stop that gets in around noon so my options are very limited.
