I love credit cards so much!

Thank you! This is a game changer for sure! Game on! It is seriously such a great deal. It's funny that so many people are resistant to even try something as simple as getting one card like this and using it for their everyday purchases. I have friends that are like "I don't use credit cards - only my debit card" to which I say "the only difference between using your debit card for everything and using a credit card is that you have to pay it each month, ANND - it pays you in points. What does your debit card pay you? - NOTHING"
I used to be like your friends because I didn't understand how credit cards work and I got myself into a mess by using one irresponsibly back when I was in college. I thought they were evil things, and I didn't want anything to do with them. I've only recently seen the light and gotten my act together so I can use them for my benefit. I've opened three in the past month, and have two more I'm planning on trying to get next year. They're going to get me to Disney next December!

I agree with you and everything @mfly said :) My dh and I have both had the Premier and the Plus SW cards, and at the same time. The bonuses on them are a great deal! However, once we get our bonus from them, we move to other cards for everyday use that have better rewards.

Hate to sound like a jerk but take advantage of them. I stopped trying to get my friends to sign up for credit cards... I tell them, hey, pay me in cash, I'll pay the bill(shopping/dining)... :D win win for you, less win for them. lol

Most people I know have a credit card but don't work the rewards to their advantage.

I'm like you, whenever we need somebody in my department to expense something I'm "me, me, meeee!!!!"

Is there a website or an app that does point conversions across multiple airlines/hotels? For instance, I plug in that I have 55,000 UR points and designate that I want to use them for air travel, and it gives me transfer rates for all airlines? Or converting from hotel points to airlines, etc.? And if not, consider this my copyright © of the idea.:o
Try award hacker for airlines. You put in where you want to go and it tells you who the transfer parent set are and how many points you need.

I don't know of one for hotels, but generally Hyatt is the best point value for hotels from UR.

Congrats!

How did you accomplish that? I thought you were over the 5/24 limit.

Thank you! I am and this one puts me at 11/24. All the data points stated there were only two ways around the 5/24 limit. One, is an in bank pre-approval offer. The other is through Chase Private Client.

YES! This is very close to what I was looking for, thank you! It doesn't include a complete list of Frequent Flyer Programs so it isn't perfect, but it looks like it could be a very useful aggregate tool.

I suppose that could be why they are resistant. Good for you that you've "seen the light" and now have credit cards earning your way to Disney! Nothing better! :)

Ha - not a jerk at all! I totally take advantage of that when I can. So worth it! :)

YES! I recently had someone in my office who was going on a business trip who usually doesn't travel for work so they don't have a corp. card with the company. Sadly, he lives paycheck to paycheck (his wife has MS and he has three kids to feed) so was very concerned about having to put the expenses on his card and how quickly he would be reimbursed. So I told him I would be more than happy to pay the largest part of the trip (his flight and hotel) on my card to get points. WIN WIN!

So did you call? Or did Chase just surprise you with an approval?

The 5/24 rule is definitely complicating my plans for which credit card to apply for next. I am pretty sure I am at 4/24 (actually more like 4/12), so if I want another Chase card, it needs to be the next one. But there are other cards I actually want more than another Chase card . . .

DH does this whenever we go to dinner in a big group at WDW. We use our TIW card, put everything on the CSPans everyone gives him the cash. Hope the CSR card arrived before Friday so we can use if at F&W this weekend.

I called recon twice on my first app and was given a hard denial. Went the CPC route and had the banker call on our behalf. DH was approved at 10/24 and so was I. I know that isn't always a guarantee and I have read where some CPC clients were declined. Got lucky and am thrilled!!!

I am confused about the 5/24 rule. Is that the number of new cards you have applied for in 24 mos, or is it the number of cards you have total? I have had my Chase Amazon card for 10 years. I don't want to close it since it is such a long-standing card but we rarely use it. Does that card count against my 5/24? Is there anything I can do with the card to keep my history but not have it counting against me? Thanks to all!

It is the number of new credit cards opened over the previous 24 months.

I was approved on Monday and my card is coming today!

Congrats!!!!

That's excellent - I'm glad it worked out.

Now that you're approved for the CSR, are there any other benefits to CPC?
