I love credit cards so much!

If you have a Dis Visa check this link for spring pricing. I saw some awesome rates! AKL pool view bunk beds $271/nt, YC GV $289/nt, GF main building CL in the $600s, and I ended up with CSR for $158 or something. I decided to go cheap since we will have quite a few trips between Dec and Aug while DD does the DCP.

I’m beginning to suspect a part of the $$$$ equation for Disney in the DCP is how much the families will spend at disney while their kid is in it!

If I'm considering staying at a couple of Hyatts next year, would it make sense to apply for the Chase Hyatt card so I can save my URs for other redemptions? Does anyone have the card and have an opinion on it?

Ahh... I was coming on here to ask a similar question. Reading all the responses carefully.

Whenever we move a piece of furniture I’m totally yelling “Pivot! pivot!”

:rotfl: Same with us! New piece of furniture we need to place? PIVOT!!!! Moving DD into her college dorm room? PIVOT!!! It's a running joke in our house. So is "Unagi."

Man, I really really want a Freedom. But I'm probably going to PC one of our CSRs to get one, rather than applying, so the earliest I can do that is February. The category FOMO is getting to me!

Right there with you with the FOMO. Every time I read about those categories...

:offtopic: WARNING...lol!

I have no idea what to do, LOL! We've previously stayed at BC/Poly/GF but Yacht Club would be a new resort. HOWEVER is it really that much different than BC? I mean, they're connected and use the same pool!! LOL!

I'm lost...any thoughts guys??

Those are ALL favorites in my house. Love doing an EPCOT/MK split, too. YC was a fave, but now dogs (and serious allergies and asthma here), so BC is where we've started our last 2 trips. I love how it's a bit closer to EPCOT, the sunny rooms, etc. Before dogs I just picked whichever one was cheaper since they are basically the same hotel.

GF and Poly is harder for me. I love the Poly for that relaxing island feel, but I love how quiet the GF is and how pretty it is. The pools are usually less crowded there, too. The Poly rooms feel larger to me, and I like that it's easier to get to Epcot from there, but since we tend to stay at YC/BC part of the trip it's not really an issue. Ack! So hard. I'd say go with your gut instinct on this one - sometimes the palm trees of the Poly call to me, and sometimes the GF's band, restaurants, and quieter atmosphere draw us in. You know you can't go wrong here, so that's something. Happy planning!

Rough day for CC. I got the itch for a new card so I decided to try to make nice with BoA. Hard denial. And I have $1500 in the bank with them! Recon said my 2 inquiries were too many (wth?!) and too many recent accounts opened (more believable 11/24). BoA is tightening up (or they hate my guts, for others I hope it’s the later but I suspect it’s the former). If there is BoA card in your plan might want to bump it up a bit.

My bad luck spread to my dad who got the bonus-abuse pop up on his credit card for DL. He has one Amex card (a biz) in his name from 3 years ago with $250 on it right now and is an au on another biz card ($0). I told him to put more spend on his card but I’m honestly surprised. I’ve gotten 4 cards in 10 months from Amex and he gets tagged for abuse?!

Hey YNAB friends- how do you put bank bonuses in your YNAB? I don't want to treat it as income for this month... do I just do it as an off budget account?

This definitely makes me consider getting a Disney Visa, but we probably should focus more on my Japan trip lol.

Okay so Dh and I are pretty sure we don't want the Hilton Aspire. It has a large AF and we can't use the free weekend night on the type of room we want. Plus, the bonus points wouldn't even be enough for two nights. SO.....which of the other Hilton cards should we consider?

Not sure if I have even driven by one...i'll have to look it up and stop in. Maybe get some decorations or something
I got Halloween candy. $10 off. Done.

Ah salmon skin roll.

So that means he he has to do an additional $6000 in spending to earn the CP right? So we have to spend $4000 within the 3 months to earn those sign up bonuses and have to make sure that happens. If we are slower on the additional 6k spend it just delays earning the CP correct, we dont lose anything but time with the CP?

Yes as long as all the spend is in 2019, then you only have 6,000 more to spend. The RR points from the sign on bonuses will you receive after you hit the MSR. There are some other ways to earn 6,000 RR points including the shopping portal and sometimes surveys, again they need to be all earned in 2019.

Question on AMEX offers...
We have numerous cards and numerous logins between DH and I. I know the adding on multiple cards in the same log in, using multiple windows is dead.
DH has a Marriott offer on at least 3 of his business cards. One on one login and the other two cards on a different log in. We have the biz credit cards on one login, and the biz charge cards on a different login. Would it work to use two of those, one from each login, or would they not allow it since it's the same account holder?
It's annoying that I don't have the Marriott offer on any of the same cards that I hold.

Unless the deal terms don't have restrictions on single use per person, I would not chance using this on more than one login as I believe Amex is going be social security numbers and not logins.

PSA: Southwest Airlines' schedule release tomorrow (9/27/18). They will release flights from April 8, 2019 through June 8, 2019.

The release typically occurs somewhere between 6:30am and 8:30am Eastern.

You beat me to this. The day I've been waiting for! Hoping for some good flight options.

Oh, I love Call the Midwife! I’m eagerly awaiting the return of Poldark too!

LOVE to call the midwife, has to be one of my favorites and it is currently on netflix.

Happy to announce I'll like be very close to meeting my CIP MSR tomorrow! Then just have to move through the SPG bus, I have until the end of October to decide if I'm going for the upgrade to the SPG Lux, an additional 5,000 spend on an amex would be rough unless I'm almost through with the SPG bus, but for 100,000 and the credit which I can use for a stay in December I don't think it would be a bad move. Still planning on probably trying to go for the CP, so that may change my mind. I'm going to give it some time.

On hold with disney again about my disney experience, 3rd time over this past week...hopefully they can get my reservation figured out, I wouldn't be so worried except my fastpass date is fast approaching.

I usually just shift spend from one card to another if it's a category I normally use,

I always shift spend from card to card depending on what I am purchasing. I sometimes do forget - like last week I was at Macy's utilizing RMN and used DH's United card because we are meeting MSR on that. I should easily meet the MSR by the deadline so I didn't need to use that card ...should have used my AMEX Everyday as I have double points at macy's on that card. At least I put some money towards MSR.

Unless the deal terms don't have restrictions on single use per person, I would not chance using this on more than one login as I believe Amex is going be social security numbers and not logins.

.

Thank you. This is what I kinda thought would be the case.

All this talk about AAA...we’ve been members for years. I’m wondering when these cards with so many travel benefits will make my AAA membership obsolete. But I have appreciated my (BoA) AAA Visa. After I use up my 6% cash back on groceries with my Amex BCP I switch to the AAA visa for 2% back that can be redeemed for $700 worth of AAA credit for 50,000 points. Almost but not quite 1.5x. Also 2% on pharmacy stores so that’s nice. But I’d totally give that up for this new rose gold Amex that’s coming out (4x groceries! That’s my jam...I consider myself Queen of 4x Fuel Points) plus the Freedom for these random 5x categories. I guess my long term plans are coming together. :teacher::artist::wizard:

I'm so proud of my friend. He asked me for help redeeming his UR's for flights to Europe, and I've been kind of busy and only offered minimal help. Welp, he did awesome! He is using their SW points and CP to fly to Chicago for free. Then he only had to redeem 70k UR's for Chicago to Zurich tickets (economy for 2) RT. I think he got a great deal based on the cash price
:offtopic: WARNING...lol!

Ok...so now I'm torn friends. I'd love insight/thoughts from the Disney fans I trust the most...
  • Last year we stayed at Beach Club and Poly. It was nice...it worked well. No bus rides except on our AK day.
  • This year we were going to do Boardwalk/Contemporary with URs...well we know that blew up
  • So I booked BC/Poly again on a TA exclusive offer...was pleased with my pricing
  • Discounts come out today and suddenly I have other options...
  • I could book Yacht Club & Grand Flo for $49 cheaper than where I'm at now
  • I could book Yacht Club & Poly for $24 cheaper than where I'm at now
  • I could book Beach Club & Grand Flo for $21 more than where I'm at now
  • I could stand pat on BC/Poly
I have no idea what to do, LOL! We've previously stayed at BC/Poly/GF but Yacht Club would be a new resort. HOWEVER is it really that much different than BC? I mean, they're connected and use the same pool!! LOL!

We've stayed at BC and Poly. Love both. Those are our favs!! However, my girls got to stay at GF with my aunt (she won a trip!) and it was really nice too. Not my style in terms of decor but it did feel very 'grand' and fancy! YC is really no different than BC though I also prefer BC decor. Otherwise, that's practically the same resort. It is fun to try new places! I bet your dd's would enjoy the pool at GF. I think it's Alice themed, right??

I think 2 Hilton Biz cards is a no-brainer since they don't add to your 5/24 total. Honestly the 100k no AF Hilton card offer is pretty attractive right now too. 100k points for $1,000 spend and NO AF! Hard to justify a 5/24 slot for it...but that would go a long way towards your rooms in Japan AND you'd earn those points super quick due to the low MSR.

Sorry I've been completely absent. Got a side job...working as a TA under my aunt! She got a booking for 16 people to wdw yesterday. I've been completely consumed getting things booked and set-up. She's overwhelmed with cruises and doesn't know Disney as well really. She had hinted about me working with her before on the Disney trips she gets and I finally agreed :)

So we've stayed at Poly, GF, and BC. And as most people point out, YC and BC are essentially the same other than some theme-ing. I just love to overthink this stuff!! LOL!
