So I bought a $300 Marriott gift card at a local courtyard and got an email from Amex but I thought I was supposed to get two emails???

I've already deleted my emails, so I couldn't go back to check, but I think I only got one email as well. The $60 posted first, and the $300 credit came a day or two later. What day did you buy your gift card?

i believe they charge u the prorated amount. no refunds then recharge.

I think this is where I'm getting fuzzy on the numbers..... prorated? unsure exactly how that works

I got it for my CSR tonight too. Makes me think it's not really targeted just super slow emails.

I leaning this way too. There was one report on Reddit who called in to ask about the offer and the phone rep said it was on the CSR but not their CFU. But phone reps are not known for being highly accurate and I didn't see anyone else chime in to corroborate.

Since I saw no reports of CF's getting it, part of me wonders if it has anything to do with the last quarter, like maybe Chase pay again or something like that. Also figure it can't hurt to try a small purchase even if you didn't get the email since it said bonus points will post within a week of the charge posting. You should know with enough time to go back before the promo ends if you do it soon.

So I got the reminder email from SW on 8/29 that my anniversary points will be posting. How soon after this email should I see them on my SW account?

And I see the AF is already posted to my Chase account though the statement doesn't close until 9/21. Just waiting for the right time to close this account...

In case anyone was wondering, I did trigger the Chase $300 checking account bonus by transferring $25 from my Fidelity fund (the one I opened up to get the $200 bonus). So that got around the direct deposit requirement. And I'm in Richmond, VA but was able to get the offer since there are now branches in Northern VA.

Finally got around to combining my SPG/Mariott accounts. Now I'm Gold Elite, that was kind of exciting for a minute Started thinking, I bet a bunch of people are now...best perk {for me} would be the upgrade. Wonder what the likelihood of getting a room upgrade at the Dolphin will be last 5 days of October...which also happens to be over their Food & Wine weekend thing. I suppose we'll see... Any other perks of Gold I should know about? Oh...you generally have to request the upgrade, right?

You can certainly ask for an upgrade, but I think there are going to be a lot of Gold members this year. I wasn't upgraded with Gold level membership last time I was there (and that Gold was equivalent to "Platinum" under the new program).

We're going to find out too. P2 is Platinum Elite and we check into Dolphin on October 28. I'm not holding my breath because they just might be 100% full with F&W, but it would be a nice surprise.

I did get upgraded at the Swan when I was Platinum under the old program (equivalent to Platinum Elite in the new program), and it was during F&W last year. I didn't even ask for it, just got a nice surprise.

Yep, I'm working on that one now. My CU didn't work, but I've read Santander does (which I also opened for a bonus), so that's next.

I don't know about Marriott to Marriott or Marriott to Delta but I know that when it was SPG it would take a couple days. Amex to Delta I don't know what you mean. Do your or DH have a Delta Amex? For the baggage fees you might want to get one just for that. Increased bonus right now until November.

I think I have decided to go to staples and buy delta GCs today as the quickest solution since marriott is a hot mess right now. I don't want to risk it taking forever or my points disappearing into thin air.

Anything I need to know about delta and GCs? A limit to how many I can use? My staples has $100 cards.

So also just curious what you would use URs for? It is interesting how we are all different. Like I wouldn't use them for park tickets but others would. I can't even really explain why I wouldn't use them for that.

Thanks for the DP! I plan on doing the same thing, except that Fidelity has frozen my account. I transferred money in and then out again for a DD on another bank bonus and they thought it was strange activity. I've been trying to get my account unfrozen so I can push money for the Chase checking. So far I've had to send them a copy of my drivers license and copies of statements from both banks I transferred money to and from. If it weren't for the fact Fidelity counts as DD and I don't have a real DD, I'd just give up on them.

So not only am I crazy and have misplaced DHs SPG Biz, I also forgot about the new Chase Pay Best Buy offer yesterday!

We stopped at Best Buy, and that was when I realized I couldn't find DHs card - I thought it was in his wallet. So I thought, we can use my biz card, or just go tomorrow and look for it at home tonight. No luck, but d'oh - could have done my biz card plus a Chase Pay card. I do have his biz card on my Samsung Pay, so maybe I'll give that a shot - nothing to lose really, since we'll be out of town anyways soon.

@pillow - Is it from the old Marriott Premier or the upgraded Marriott Premier that you are expecting elite nights?

@miztressuz - please remind me again - didn't we keep this benefit if we stayed with the old Marriott card and didn't upgrade?
