Total fail from both the Visa Infinite Concierge and the Amex Plat Concierge.
The concert I was trying to get tickets wasn't being sold through Ticketmaster, concerts at Citi Field are sold through the Mets website. You log in, are put in a "virtual waiting room" and they randomly allow people who are waiting on line "in" to the system to buy tickets.
The Visa people called me to verify what tickets I wanted etc. 24 hours ahead, and they handled the whole transaction, but a couple of hours after the tickets went on sale I got an email saying they were not able to get me tickets.
With Amex, I was supposed to call them a little before the tickets went on sale. I got someone who was actually pretty rude and said that because they were using a virtual waiting room, she couldn't help me. I was pretty annoyed, because I had a long conversation with someone last weekend about how I was going to be on a flight just after tickets went on sale, and they had assured me they would be able help me. I HUCAed and got someone much nicer, but who also said that they were not able to assist with virtual waiting room situations and that I would have to be on the phone with them when they bought the tickets (so how is it helpful to use the concierge?)
Anyway, upshot is that I struck out 2x, and was sitting on my phone (and DH's phone) in the Amex lounge hoping I'd get a chance to buy tickets in the virtual waiting room before our flight, when DD's friend (who was also trying to get us tickets) sent me a text saying that she had managed to get tix through the website.
So a happy ending for me, but no thanks to my fancy pants credit cards. Upshot is, I think, that they are useful when Visa or Amex is a sponsor and gets presale access, but not necessarily as a work around for a quick-selling unaffiliated concert.
