I normally cant talk DH into doing this special. That's why I usually carry his AMEX cards and have them in my Samsung Pay. And I really should add his Barclay since I dont have anything for non category.

But about 2 months ago, his department moved to a new office, which is 10 mins from me so weve been carpooling. So he gets to go along on this adventure!

We just returned from a trip to Portland, Oregon and we specifically stayed at the Nines one night so we could take advantage of the lounge with our SPG biz. I was told that I couldn't access the lounge with my card. I was ready to ask for a manager, but was getting disapproving stares from the family. I am now thinking that if I should let them know. The whole lounge benefit is not been very much use to us.

It's definitely worth a try. I just responded to the email asking for a review and gave my honest experience. It took a couple of weeks but I did receive an apology and an offer for the points.

Any experience with how long it takes for Marriott points to post from the Chase Marriott biz account? My statement closed yesterday and I see the 75k bonus points on my Chase account (woohoo!) but not on my Marriott account. But, I had some issues with my Marriott online account so I'm just wondering whether to worry yet or just be patient

statement closes 27th, my marriott points come in on the 31th/1st.

Thanks everyone. Clearly my issue is that we have only one AMEX account (plus 2 AUs) That and I don't have willing players with the multi tab thing. I'll look out for the Best Buy offer next time. I'll get there... it's just taking some time. It's hard to keep up daily, and after my upcoming trip there will be all new offers to figure out.

Since you have authorized users, they can have their own accounts set up online. I have an authorized user and the offers do not disappear from her account when I add them to mine. I also keep her card in my Samsung pay so that I can redeem her offers.

Debating applying for the CIP...ran the numbers and I can meet the minimum spend with a little creativity. My business is having sold just a rare thing here or there at a consignment shop so probably 1-2 years and maybe 200 in income. What do you all think are my chances of being approved? Would be my first business card, as I really don't consider myself to have a business. I'm 4/24, last chase card 1/2018 and last card discover 2/2018.

I think you should be fine as long as your overall credit limits are not too high in proportion to reported income. It may be your first business card but they will look at your personal limits in deciding approval. I had a difficult call in getting approval (eventually approved) but what instigated the call at all I think was the overall credit limits. You do want to avoid talking to them if you can help it! Good luck...the 80k UR’s definitely make possible denial worth it.

Quick question while I'm catching up on this thread. 4 more pages to go...

Do we know what is happening to the automatic lounge access at Marriotts with the AMEX Platinum card that gives up SPG gold? We have a room booked for mid-August but are leaning towards staying elsewhere. But the lounge access could tip the scale. Is there any news on this front?

The SPG Gold that you get from the Amex Plat will still get you new-Marriott Gold status after 8/1/18, but the new-Marriott Gold status won't give you lounge access (you'll need new-Platinum status for that).

I've been operating under the assumption that the "August" merger date meant August 1 - just got the email that says it is all happening August 18, as @miztressuz said. So I was expecting to have "new platinum" status in the Starriott rewards program as of the beginning of August. I have the W hotel in Chicago booked for August 17th and 18th - was expecting to have lounge access or free breakfast and a shot at an upgrade, but what happens if I check in as "old gold" and then wake up the next day as "new platinum"?

I decided that it's just too complicated and I'm transfering some SPG points over to Marriott and finding a Marriott for that weekend instead. That way I know I will get free breakfast, at least, even if Marriott is generally not great about giving upgrades. Not sure I want to splurge on the Ritz Carlton, it would cost another 30k Marriott points, so not sure its worth it when we're mostly going to be out and about seeing the city... Any Chicago peeps with ideas?

We have 3 log ins but I've noticed that certain offers show up for all of us and certain ones don't. I'll keep plugging away at this though. Maybe we all need to go to BB&B. I had no idea they even sold GCs.

That helps to take some of the sting out of the cost of doing business. Remember to change the credit card on file with your eBay account to the CIP before you get hit with the invoice for seller’s fees, so those charges can code 3x too.
