YESSSSS. Perfectly timed since I just redeemed a Cat 6. Marriott N&F package; MAY redeem next year and it's anyone's best guess if the same awards availability shutout happens again, but remaining hopeful and Cathay isn't my only target with Alaska miles, so .

Rolling the dice on the Cat.6 and hoping that they will at least maintain its 30K per night value at a minimum OR I'll get refunded 180K and win with the 120K MR to 120K airline conversion. There's the possibility I'll lose if they downgrade to 25K, but I'm hopeful they will maintain at a minimum the current value...

My traveler profile on my account is correct, but my checkin email I just got has no space before my middle initial, so it looks like Alyssan instead of Alyssa... does it normally do that? Is that something I can get fixed at the ticket counter tomorrow if it is wrong? I've never run into this before.

I can’t answer from a United perspective but I’ve had my middle initial on my SW ticket print that way and had no problem getting through security without getting corrected. And SW recently dropped DH and my last letter of our first name and when I called SW to have corrected, they said it could corrected at the counter when we checked in. I had them make the change on the phone though since we have an early flight and I didn’t want to deal with it a 5 am half asleep. Then the agent put in an incorrect middle initial and called to have corrected but that was a quick correction. I’d think United could do the same on-site as SW.

Finally booked hotel for our Aug weekend trip to wdw! I called when DH and DS8 came in from hockey b/c the cruise and tours were closing in 20 mins. Get the lady on the line and went to have DH give her permission to talk to me and poof he is missing. arrggghH! So I had her pull up the dcl vgt rate we are considering to see if she can even book it....that is a yes. Awesome! By then my stalling isn't going well so I told her I'd have to call back. He walked in 2 mins later from going to the gas station (hopefully used the CF I gave him last week). At this point it is 6 mins til cruise and tours closes so I call back quickly and get the same rep, haha! I'm sure she thinks I am crazy. So after 20 mins we were all set and she even had the disney conf # without me asking for it. A+++. I linked it up to MDE and it worked flawlessly. Now tomorrow to get more discounted GC for our tickets...

ETA: So the chase UR people's cc is set to pay for my incidentals. hhmmmnnn. good thing I am honest. Wonder how that would work out.

@Ngwira :Where are you staying in Lake Louise? Are you flying into Calgary or Vancouver? When we went, the Athabasca Glacier walk was closed. I hear this attraction is a must do. [sorry don't know how to quote on my iPad.

We are flying in and out of Spokane. It was the best flight times and cost. Seemed hard to get there from here (Columbus Oh). Calgary was too expensive. We are staying at the Mountaineer Inn in Lake Louise. Same company has the Mount Robson Inn in Jasper and we'll get 20% off on both since we are staying back to back.
I already got my glacier tour tickets!! I can't wait for this one.

Did you do any of the gondola rides? Reading trip advisor say all are good just pick one on the best clear day.

what is your parks plan since you only have 2 days. I can't decide if I want a 1 day hopper or 2 day tix. We are doing DAH for MK on Sat pm. We arrive early Friday (land 8:30) so we can hit 2 parks that day or one that day and one Saturday morning. We are skipping Epcot I guess...I seem to be the only in my family that likes it. I think we will sleep in and relax Sunday before our flight.

Thank you! Ugh, yes i hate getting food and having no where to sit. I got cheese fries at Casey’s one time and there was no where for me to sit and eat them. That’s why I mostly do table service. That and I hate waiting on line to order food, but now with mobile order that isn’t a problem.

We don't go back to the resort for a break (getting everyone ready to go a second time is like herding cats) so we use meals as a sort of mini-break. It's been a while, but if I recall correctly, Columbia Harbor House and Cosmic Ray's are good for seating in MK; Sunshine Seasons and Marrakesh in EPCOT (probably some other countries too, but I recall Norway and France being bad for seating); Pizzafari in AK (Flametree has a lot of outdoor seating, which is not good if you want a break from whatever the weather is outside). We always do SciFi at HS -- the atmosphere is unique and it's become a tradition.

Thanks for the suggestions. We are staying at Pop. It’s my new favorite resort. Well I love the Beach Club, but they are two totally different price ranges. I have to check out the food court at pop. I was going to get a snack there last weekend, but it was packed with kids, must have been a school group or something.

I was SUPER impressed by the Pop food court. There were a ton of different options I was not expecting. I saw somebody with a fantastic looking piece of salmon there for lunch one day.

Anyways, I think it’s just a glitch in the United system. All of my emails from United show my ticket as FirstnameMiddlename Lastname. I just checked the United ticket for my mom and it also shows her name that way. I know all the tickets were booked correctly, so I think it’s just something the United formatting does to it.

I haven’t really decided on a plan yet. Right now I have us going to Epcot early Saturday morning and then maybe we will hop to DHS. they close at 10:30 or I will hop to MK and do the DAH event, I just don’t know if it’s worth it when DHS closes at 10:30 and when I asked my sister for her three must do attractions she didn’t list any in MK. So SO and I may just go back and do DAH September 20th.although SO would rather do the Halloween party in September lol. I’d rather do DAH.

Then our second day I have fastpasses in the morning at Hollywood (this maybe a waste if we hop there our first day) and we also have to hit AK at some point because my sister wants to do Everest. I asked her for her three must do attractions and she picks Rock N roller coaster, Everest and test track and we have two park days lol. Idk which one I should try and get as my fourth fast pass one day. I really wanted to take her to do FOP too, but I wasn’t seeing availability.

I really just need to take her for a full week so she gets the full Disney experience lol I really want to take my three siblings (19,15,14) and two cousins (14,8) on a big family trip in a few years. I was thinking of just getting two connecting value rooms. The only problem is they all fight and argue like crazy. My SO also may run away and never want kids. I think my sister is looking forward to coming on vacation with me because she gets away from my other sister for a bit lol They need to stop with the fighting because I’d love to take them all and have them fully experience disney. But for now I’ll take them one at a time for shorter trips.

So what's the deal with global entry? I applied for myself and DH on the same day, two weeks ago now. I was conditionally approved and able to schedule an in person interview about 4 days later (interview will be in October). DH still isn't conditionally approved. I logged in to his application to look over everything and I didn't see any obvious fat finger mistakes, etc. What gives - is this normal? He isn't military, has no security clearance, no arrest record. US citizen.

There are some wildfires in eastern WA so please make sure before you start out driving in any direction you check http://www.wsdot.wa.gov/ for any alerts. I would also do the same in Alberta because they can get pretty bad fires up there as well. We don't have any roads closed due to fires right now, but a week or two ago had a couple of different highways closed. The fires also aren't as bad as last year, we got quite hazy in western WA and even had ash, both from eastern WA and coming down from BC. Never hear of fires in MT but that doesn't mean they don't have them. Have fun! Everyone going to Banff lately is making me jealous, I"d love to go up there but I've already done Calgary and Edmonton so unless I go during hockey season I don't have much other reason to go up there.

We don't fly United, but anytime we purchase tickets from AmEx it does this. It runs the first and middle initial together. We have never had a problem with TSA.

omg, that happened to me in a United flight. I assumed it was a glitch from the corporate TA portal that booked it ( another thing I blamed amex for, took my initial out of the portal after that). I had no trouble with TSA or check-in. I did have trouble at the gate because it was an international flight and my name didn't match my passport the agent kept looking at it like it was my first name, in fact that's how they called me up to the podium, I almost didn't go. Took me a second to realize that's what my name would sound like with my initial added ! I had to actually explain that wasn't part of my name.
If you're not going international probably fine, should be easily explained if asked... just keep an ear out for 'Alyssan' .
