Yep, I agree. I’m in this for free, so I don’t buy points. I get that it can be cheaper than paying cash but if I don’t have the points, I don’t book or book something else. I won’t even use Plastiq unless I need to make MSR. I’d be paying a fee to earn 3x UR for example, when I could just earn points on stuff I’m buying anyway without a fee.

I agree but I have bought miles before to get me the flight. Once I had planned to use my miles to fly economy but the rate wasn't that good and wasn't much more to fly first class. Since I was traveling with my dog in cabin (Dude for those that have read my TR ) it made more sense to have the free bags with first and the extra leg room for me since he took the whole under seat. The other I was planning to buy the seat but when I looked at my mileage balance and saw the first class saver award it was cheaper for me to buy the miles to get the fc seat than to buying the economy seat. Both of these were before I started churning but I would still do this type of situation but I would never buy them just to buy them, especially if I knew I could earn them in time.

I’ve been watching for weeks to see how low they go and if any trends. If you’re looking for economy seats, you can wait longer but business/first sometimes go quickly. I also booked one way tickets because the date for the return trip is not even open yet.

Oddly, I have it on only two of my logins. My dh and ds card, on my Amex Delta blue account. Neither I or dd got it, nor did any of the logins for our Hilton cards or DH's Amex Delta Platinum. Very odd LOL.
I lied, it just showed up on DH's card, Delta Amex and both Hiltons as well. Not sure what I would get online at Sams, but gotta save the offers just in case

I’m able to see departing and returning flights for our dates in May through United. I’m pretty sure we will just do economy because it’s so much cheaper. It’s either 35k for economy or like 110k for the next level of seats. It will still be awhile before we can book because I haven’t even gotten approved for the cip yet. We want to have me get the msr for that before we book plane tickets.

American's gift card page says you can't use it for baggage fees. It can only be used for fares, and even then there's some rules to follow.

Did you get an email saying you are registered for the bonus? SO and I got them today at about 11am EST.

I got the email today also saying I was registered for the bonus and it would take a few days to show up but it's already in my and dh's accounts.

I didn't get an email until early this afternoon that says "Thanks for registering for the cash deposit bonus offer from Fidelity."
I was a little worried this morning when everyone seemed to be getting their bonuses.

ETA: Just logged in to check and still no sign of the bonus other than that email.

Thanks for the replies. The only email I received said thanks for choosing fidelity investments and made no mention of the bonus. The email was sent 6/28, well before the promo ended on 6/30.

June 28 for me. I got an email on that day thanking me but there was no mention of a bonus. Then, today, I got this email:

You’re on your way
Thanks for registering for the cash deposit bonus offer from Fidelity.

You can check your offer status below, but please be aware it may take up to 24 hours for your offer status to be updated.

By the time I received this, the bonus was already in my account.

I agree @palhockeymomof2 I already am jealous of @calypso726! It is a different type of point accumulation and I can see the addiction. If you have played the credit card game enough to get the companion pass that’s great! I said to my husband that if the resale contract goes through I would be sad to not look at our bank account with money in it. He pointed out I can just stare at my DVC points!

On the buying SPG points you all find it “worth it?” I have got on there a couple of times intending to buy some but haven’t been able to pull trigger. Buying points just seems wrong somehow.

I actually stumbled upon the companion pass about 4 years ago, while selling on eBay...lucked out flipping J.Crew vests that year...earning points putting them on my SW card and shopping online with the SW shopping portal...didn’t even know it existed until then..lol.
But since getting it that first time made sure I got it ever since by getting opening up two sw cards

Got my "free" $200 from Fidelity today, after the alert yesterday that my account was funded. I was on the tail end of the deal - got in about 2 hours before it was shutdown. So I would think everyone will get their fundings today.

I also have the Sams Club deal on my DHs Delta Plat Amex. We spend way too much at Sams (and there's only two of us!) so that will come in handy.

Also, can I just say how glad I am that I have a random day off in the middle of the week? #Fried #Happy4th

So I’ll be at 4/24 in Sept and thinking of applying for CIP or cancelling my CSR and double dipping. DH has a CSP that I was going to product change to a CF as the annual fee just hit. However maybe I should pc it to a CSR when I cancel mine? Can I pc now and again in Sept? I don’t want to risk being without a CSR. The travel credit and UR portal make it a keeper in my eyes....

More Marriott nights/flights questions please Since it seems like the 5 night isn't going to happen (based on the account review dp), I was looking at the 7 night packages. They still seem like a really good deal to me, even if I wouldn't use the full 7 nights. I would want to use the points to transfer to SW so I've been doing some calculations but wanted to see if I have a few things right.
Would you value SW RR at $.015? I calculated using Wanna Get Away flights because that's all I've ever booked.
Are the nights/flights packages going away after 8/1? What is the reasoning being everyone booking these now?

I agree with the international flight part, but didn't you also get an AA credit card to help with the miles? That should give you free bags even on a mileage flight. I've had an AA card for years, used to be US Air which was my main airline from CLT. I always got free bags regardless of how I booked the flight. I don't remember how many people it covered but a lot of them are up to 4 as long as they are on the same rez as you.
