Regarding the Fidelity bonus. I opened accounts for DH and myself late Thursday night (6/28). I funded mine right away, DH’s a few days later. I’ve recieved an email welcoming me to my new account but that’s it, no mention of pending bonus. Are there others in the same boat?

Did you get an email saying you are registered for the bonus? SO and I got them today at about 11am EST.

I got the email today also saying I was registered for the bonus and it would take a few days to show up but it's already in my and dh's accounts.

Your hair is lovely when it's all curly and having a mind of it's own. I love it! Mine is a getting slightly wavier as I get older. I also battled it for awhile but now, I just leave it alone most days. I do a lot of ponytails too in an effort to control it a bit. Thankfully my dh loves my hair in a ponytail :)

Aaawww :flower3: Thank you :goodvibes Mine isn't long enough to do a ponytail, but that sure would make things easier.

I know this feeling! In high school my mom used to straighten my hair for me. I could do flat irons but it took freakingforever, and I had to blow dry it first. It was faster to blow dry straight, but i couldn't do it. I'djust crack myself in the head with the giant ceramic roundbrush. But it wasstill almost two hours! Now i have perfected my routine... shower, comb, put in curly hair mousse* to fight frizz/help with curl because my hair is long and thick, let it dry while i sleep. Ta-da! There is too much going on to spend hours on my hair!

*please note, mousse step is not fully necessary in humid climates like NE, CA, and FL

This is why I stopped fighting it. I'm in Florida so it would frizz and I'd look like a crazy person. Well ... crazier than normal. Now there are days where I can just wake up, shower, do absolutely nothing to my hair look in the mirror and say "yeah, that'll work."

There's a great offer on DoC's site re: Amazon gift cards and 3rd party gift cards, using 1 AMEX MR point, save $100. If you're eligible, that's like saving 20% on those gift cards!

https://www.doctorofcredit.com/amaz...embership-rewards-point-100-maximum-discount/

I bought $400 Amazon e-gift cards, $100 physical gift cards coming in the mail ($500 worth of gift cards), used 1 AMEX MR and spent $399.99 on that AMEX.

ETA: I'm still waiting for the Amazon e-gc delivery; hopefully there's not a snag with this order.

I watch for weeks before our flight dates open so I kind of know what to expect. For AA, many times the lowest awards aren’t available right when the dates open, sometimes they pop up later, or only on Tuesdays, etc.
I’m not sure how far out to book our tickets. We can’t get anything until we have our reward points anyway.

Exactly! It is the weirdest thing. If you hate your DVC so much then stop stop following and posting about it. Just sell! I think they almost want it to be more of an exclusive club and are upset it is not. At least on here everyone admits they love credit cards and points!

Personally I am in a credit card rut right now. Lowered Chase credit lines for DH this week but need to wait a while before I have him get the new Chase Business Unlimited. And I am really worried about pushing my luck with Chase right now so that’s a no go. I have 7 cards with Chase and sad but true I think I need every single one. I have thought about and will get another Amex but already have 3. And then added to it we have been trying to not spend so much money and it seems like when we have a new card we just spend spend spend (no ms required). So this summer I am a little sad but just trying to put non category spending on SPG before it ends (I don’t care about Marriott and just valued SPG for airline transfers).

Agree with you....if I was that unhappy I’d sell and be done with it not posting...lol....
its a prepaid vacation...not a secret club or an investment
I’m new to this cc game ..thought I was doing well with the sw companion pass and only found this thread in April when looking into finding a way to fly to Europe in 2020 on miles....no AX cards yet...a CIP for me first.... now working on the spend for my husbands CIP....looking at CSR or CSP after that, but want to stay at or under 4/24 so I can get another SW companion pass in January 2020....it gets a lot of use since my son lives in Orlando
I’m is awe of how you all figure out which card to use for different situations....I’ve got a lot to learn

[:welcome: home! Beware of of add-on-itis. It sneaks up on you. We started with 180 points and now have 1300. I don't really know how that happened.

I know what you mean. I think the nicest people I've "met" are on this thread and the ABD threads.]

Wow 1300 points...I’m jealous.....we started with 170...added 150 so only 320...could use way more with my son Living in Orlando now...but we make it work

first time i purchased, instant.
2nd time i purchased, 4 hours. ymmv
How about transfers to Marriott? I made my reservation anyway but it makes me nervous waiting for the points. Booked for 2 weekends of Univeristy of Michigan football! Go Blue! 25K for rooms that are listed as $289... I’ll take it!

Awesome! Just did this deal with 4x $100 Amazon (physical) gift cards and 1x $100 Safeway gift card. Paid 1 MR ($0.01) and $399.99.

I agree @palhockeymomof2 I already am jealous of @calypso726! It is a different type of point accumulation and I can see the addiction. If you have played the credit card game enough to get the companion pass that’s great! I said to my husband that if the resale contract goes through I would be sad to not look at our bank account with money in it. He pointed out I can just stare at my DVC points!

On the buying SPG points you all find it “worth it?” I have got on there a couple of times intending to buy some but haven’t been able to pull trigger. Buying points just seems wrong somehow.

I've not been able to pull the trigger on the purchase of spg points either. I think because I really would only use them at Swolphin (just where we are in life) and the rates are fairly cheap when we travel. It's common to see Swolphin at $130 in late Aug/Sept. so buying points just doesn't make sense to me.

i believe its instant...

For those of you who use Informed Delivery, did you have to go in person to verify identity?

No. I signed up on line and the emails started coming 2-3 days later. They did send some kind of verification email - my daughter's car loan which I cosigned way back when.

I didn't get an email until early this afternoon that says "Thanks for registering for the cash deposit bonus offer from Fidelity."
I was a little worried this morning when everyone seemed to be getting their bonuses.

ETA: Just logged in to check and still no sign of the bonus other than that email.

I know it seems wrong to actually spend money on points lol, aren't we doing this to get them for free? But if you have a particular goal in mind, it can make sense and cost you less than paying regular cash for your travel. As far as SPG points go, I bought 60K SPG between DH and me earlier this year, and spent $1367 for them. I did the same last year. Those 120K SPG points add up to a 7 nt Cat 8 travel package that I turned into $1540 worth of airfare and $4482 worth of hotel stays. Rounding off, I paid $2700 and got $6000 worth of vacation (flights + lodging) so I think it's a good deal - for me.

Now that the travel packages are changing, I won't buy any points for the future because they have been devalued so much.
