This is kind of what I told my dh last night...poor guy, he doesn't understand any of this nor does he care but I need to talk it out to help it make sense in my head so he's been getting to listen to all this ...I really want the SW points. Those are one of my fav points to collect. I just picked up the SPG cards for Swolphin but it wouldn't be the end of the world if that didn't work out. I don't think I'd mourn the loss of that at all.

I think we are in the same boat. I can't decide what to do either. I haven't found any marriott properties I really want to book at the moment. I need SW points.

hmmnnn isn't SWL opening 2019? So we could reserve Swolphin at the current rates and likely see SWL late next year...my gears are turning.

Grand Floridian rate is $300 a night in August.

We've typically done the Poly or BC or both in Aug/Sept on their rate, which has steadily climbed every year but still a great deal. This is our first year in many not going

I think I got my funding to Fidelity in time. Deposited around 11:30 this morning. It still says pending. Actually set up the account last night though. Had trouble making the transfer then so I called Fidelity this morning. Girl I talked to said I had 60 days to get the deposit in for the promotion but suggested I use the mobile app, so I did that and it seemed to work. I don't know if 60 days was supposed to be the original length of the promotion. Maybe.

You're right about the increasing rates..I remember paying about $250 at one point, then $270, now it's $300. Sorry about not going this August, but you have some other awesome trips planned, right?

I went ahead and just booked it before the rate disappears and I can talk about it with the GF when I get home from work tonight. I believe the savings with the "magical" rates I booked come mostly from the discounted convention tickets that they throw in. The $100 difference was me doing quick math based on the 2 day park hopper on the website, but I forgot that there are other ways for discounted tickets and gift cards which would more than make up for the difference.

The GF loves the full "Disney" experience with getting the MB's in the mail and the rooms with theming, but the friends and family rates are just too good to pass up.

But you may be waking up to views of ToT if you’re lucky! One stay we could see ToT during the day and EPCOT fireworks at night.

Yeah I haven’t funded mine yet but opened it last night. It definitely says 60 days to fund so I can’t imagine they won’t honor that.

I think it’s 350 now? You can book June 14 2019 or earlier right now. If you try to book later, it will tell you nothing is available, SPG speak for booking not open.

What is the best way to book the Disney rooms and then use UR's? I know I am totally overthinking this but bear with me. Should I book now on Disney site and then call Chase Cruise and Tours right away? Should I book now and call Chase before 30 days so to transfer the reservation? (Wait just in case AP rate comes out and I can modify it that way). Should I just call Chase and have them book it while I am on the phone with them? Any thoughts? I have plenty of UR's right now to cover so not worried about that.

If you have the URs now, then I'd just book through the chase portal, and if the resorts don't show then call cruise and tours. I think the advantage to booking at Disney first is to get around the UR due at booking thing.

As for college and CCs, I wish we could use one for my DD's tuition. It would fund tons of travel if we could. Oh well, c'est la vie. At least I get AMEX points for all those flights I keep buying for her.

Totally missed out on the Fidelity account as I was going to open it now after getting home from work, kicking myself that I didn't open it at work this morning...

Now I need to research the flight and nights package...I could really use the SW points, but not sure what I would do with a 7 night certificate and with the unknown of how we'll be able to use them...now that I missed out on the Fidelity bonus I feel like I should chance it and get one before everything changes...

Well, we just got back from a 10-day trip to CA (4 days at DLR). That was our Disney trip for this year instead of WDW. We have no other trips planned this year...my grandma turns 90 in Sept and I have a cousin getting married in Dec so we will probably try to get back to TX for one of those events.

Usually 7-10 days unless they expedited, and then it's 2-3 days. Anxiously awaiting our next card too
