So how long does it take these cards to arrive? Now that we finally got them I'm trying not to by stuff so I can use the new cards and spend the minimum. Suddenly time is just dragging...
As for college and CCs, I wish we could use one for my DD's tuition. It would fund tons of travel if we could. Oh well, c'est la vie. At least I get AMEX points for all those flights I keep buying for her.

Marriott/SPG Won’t Be Automatically Refunding Points Differences If Your Bookings Drop In Cost -- but "[p]lease contact [Marriott/SPG] for assistance moving your reservation to new category pricing."
TL;DR: Starriott won't automatically credit your points back for reservations at properties where the points have dropped, but it sounds like they will manually refund your points if you contact them directly.
Going to call about my Sheraton Waikiki reservation after August.
I did try to call back in February with no luck.Oh darn!
This seriously alters my plans if this is the case! I thought you could call in and do it. I'll give it a shot calling and report back.
DH says the cards said "7-10 days" so I guess they weren't expedited. Oops.
Prices don't change until August? Our DLR hotel for July is going down 5k/night.
Just funded DH's fidelity account after getting it set up last night. I also see that my $200 came out of my Ally account today after transferring it yesterday. While I was setting up DH's transfer, I got an e-mail from Ally that my interest rate had gone up AGAIN to 1.75%. Sure beats the heck out of the .1% I was getting at BoA.
DD18 was just approved for her first on-her-own credit card! She has been a AU user on my United card for five years or so, but she is finally stepping into the game on her own. Soon we may be in 3 player mode, LOL.
Her 60 second approval today for the Schwab Amex ($200 statement credit after $2000 MSR and 1.5x statement credit) was a much better experience than Chase. As I mentioned above, she'd been a AU on my United card for years so when she received a mailer to apply for her own credit card (50,000 United mile bonus) we thought awesome. No problem since she's been on mine for so long. She is in college and doesn't have a job, but she has decent investment income. I wasn't happy when she wasn't automatically approved and received a rejection letter later. I was even less happy a few weeks later when she received yet another mailer from United to apply for the same card. Grrr...
Anyway, since her investments are held at Schwab, I thought the Amex might be a way in for her. Sure enough, it worked. Yay DD!!! I may have to help her out with that first $2000 but after that, she'll be responsible for this one![]()
I need to get my DD19 her own card, but I am enjoying her earning me points so I haven't been very motivated.![]()
Do y'all think she could count babysitting as income?
Kind of the same lol! But also I am not sure my dd could get approved for her own card yet. She has no paying job other than babysitting (and house/pet sitting which she is doing this weekend)...I guess we could count that....She's actually a very 'in demand' sitter and is already booked up for about 1/3 of the summer. Do y'all think she could count babysitting as income?
You know the answer to that...and she has her own business. The possibilities are endless.
Do you think she really could get approved for a CIP with no real credit history, other than being an AU'er for a year on two of my cards? She couldn't even open the Fidelity account due to, I guess, having no real 'identity'I wish she could get a CIP. I'd be all over her getting that opened!
Is she a student? I’d get her her own discover student card for 6 months and then move onto Chase.
