Cool, thanks for the clarification. I'll check tomorrow but I have a feeling the most recent mailer offer will expire before I'm down to 0/30.
On the upside, I got a letter about my CIP application - they need me to verify my birthdate, so I'm going to call on Monday to ask if I can fax or email in documents rather than snail mail them. Hopefully this is a good sign! ::fingers crossed::
Tough choice because on the upside, your CIP denial looks like it’s just for verification. You should call recon to see what they need, then your application status will likely change to approved.
However, if you are approved for the CIP under your original application for the 80k UR offer, you likely won’t be able to apply for another CIP under the 120k UR offer.
- Chase business cards like the CIP is subject to the 0/30 rule, meaning you can’t have made another Chase application in the past 30 days.
- There is restrictive language in the CIP terms that will deny you for that card if you already hold that card or received a bonus on that card in the past 24 months.
- People get around this and get 2 (or even 3) CIPs (for the very lucrative signup bonus) by applying for one under their SSN, a second under an official EIN (and even a third using another EIN). Since Chase views these applications as from different business “entities,” these different businesses can each get approved for their own CIP.
- Generally, its a good idea to space out your applications to avoid a Chase shutdown. For business applications, it’s advised to allow even more time between applications to be safe- personally, I think 3-6 months. (This is really more of a precaution and not a hard rule. People here have gotten a second Chase business card a month or two after getting their first Chase business card.)
If you proceed with your first application, you’re choosing a likely to be approved 80k UR offer over trying for a higher 120k UR in about a month.
You could ask Chase to close the current application and try for the 120k UR offer after 30 days since submitting your first application.
Given the above, it’s possible you could get approved for the 80k UR offer now and still go for the 120k UR offer later, if those mailers keep coming, but you’d have to sign up for an EIN to apply for a second CIP, and give yourself at least 3-6 months (the longer, the better) before applying for another Chase business card.
