C'mon PAY MORE ATTENTION!! :rotfl2: JK :) I've thought about putting one together for us actually so I'm happy to try to put something together and maybe put it on the reddit page where we're accumulating such things if people are interested? Life is getting busy for me (in a fun way :) leaving for NOLA Fri!!) so I'll be swamped with work when I get back next week but maybe the next weekend or so I can put one together if someone here hasn't already done so (which is totally cool too, I'm not the only who hits these here).
That would be awesome. I do wonder if someone else might have one already, I know there are several of you who are so good at it!

Also, forgot to note that for the direct deposit requirement for Chase, there's other ways to make yourself eligible even if you don't work. I used a push from M&T (which cost me $3, but for the $300, I could deal with it :)) to meet the DD requirement since I was lazy to go in and change my actual work DD. Do any of these DPs (via other bank hubs) from DOC work for you?

https://www.doctorofcredit.com/knowledge-base/list-methods-banks-count-direct-deposits/#Chase

I don't have any of those options, darn, but I am employed, and it might be a pain, but I could set up a new direct deposit. I would only have to do one, correct?
Also on Chase, am I reading right that you have to leave the $15k in savings for 90 days? And the direct deposit doesn't need to be in there by the expiration of the offer, just within 60 days of opening the account?

Also on Discover, am I reading that right, that you can deposit some funds, then take them out and deposit again, until you hit the level of deposits needed for the bonus? And does that need to be done before the offer expires, or just the account needs to be open before the offer expires?

Sorry for so many questions LOL!!

Oh, the things FOMO makes me do... Y'all are the worst influence. OK, so I'm CONSIDERING rolling the dice on the nights/flights thing. I've got the starriott points to do it, but I'm trying to figure out which airline I should go for. I'm thinking I should pick a Star Alliance carrier. Any recommendation for which one I should go with? Maybe United, since they would have decent domestic flights as well as international, plus you get a few more miles with the nights/flights? I usually use Southwest, but I want these miles to be used for some trips to Europe, so SW is a no go. Any suggestions? I'm not in a hub city, but NYC and all its airports aren't too far from us, so we can be pretty flexible.

Yes, I realize I'm gambling here - really hoping that I will get a good value of points back, but I do want to start stockpiling miles too... And I'd find a way to use a Marriott cert if thats what I wind up with.

Has anyone here actually completed the Citibank bonus? This part of the fine print is throwing me off. I have no clue what it means and we have no branches here so if they need me to bring it in, I can't.View attachment 325819
I can't do chase next because I have no direct deposit method as I don't work.

yeah, its a form u sign at Citibank. Im currently doing the citibank one on the 2nd time.

Looks like we're both excited.

I’d be excited if MPX goes back to coding 5x on the Amex Plats! But that doesn’t look like it’ll happen.

So even though this is good news, I’ll still have to weigh which of the following 3 options gives me the best return or savings for buying gift cards:

1. MPX for a 3x UR category bonus in dining and travel (CSR) or a 5x UR category bonus for office supply stores (CIC) + x UA miles depending on merchant + 0.25x UA miles bonus for having a linked United card;

2. Gyft and Swych through PayPal checkout (CIC) for 5x UR on any merchant, or from office supply stores for 5x UR (CIC) on all physical gift cards; or

3. Buying discounted gift cards from PayPal Digital Gifts/eBay or resell marketplaces like Raise. (ETA: Raise has Apple Pay checkout and eBay has PayPal checkout, which factors in when they’re Freedom 5x UR categories.)

I've done both the Chase and Discover ones - just got my bonus on the chase one - it posted 3 days after 90 days from the last deposit I made that got me to $15k in the account, so yes, you need to have the $15k sit for 90 days. Not sure re. the direct deposit timing, I had a direct deposit well before either the expiration on my offer or 60 days.

I've read the same datapoint on Discover about being able to withdraw and re-deposit. I think the fine print said you had to meet the requirements by a specific date (I think it was 6.18 or so), so not the date of the offer expriation, but fairly quick.

I'm happy about the Discover one because it seems like you need to park the $$$ for less time - means I can move on to the next one more quickly::yes::

Great news!!

I am actually about to call our vet for an appt. Our cat has had a lump on his chin since Aug. Vet did a fine needle aspirate back then. She said the matter drawn was yellow and looked like fat. Lab results were that it was fatty cyst. No cancer cells detected.

But then.... Last night I found a 2nd lump next to it. I'm hoping it's just another fatty cyst, but still your stomach churns with worry. Wondering if the initial lab study was accurate.... and all that.

I haven't been on DIS for a while so I couldn't help responding when one of the first posts I read was your happy report!

I hope you get good news on your cat and get it soon!

Southwest is releasing their schedule through January 6, 2019 tomorrow morning. Just a heads up. I'm looking forward to booking flights for my DL trip in December.

Thanks for the reminder! We're currently booked to fly home Sat Nov 3 (how far out the current schedule goes) but would rather fly home Sun Nov 4 as long as there's a decent time available, meaning please not the crack of dawn! We're already booked at BWV through Nov 4 but booked the flight Nov 3 as a backup. But it's way earlier than we'd like to leave, 2pm. Slim pickings on nonstops between MCO and EWR lately.

Soooo 99k spg points are missing. I just transferred them to my linked marriott account but they aren't showing up there. They are showing as transferred out in my spg account. I have logged out and in several times. Suggestions?

For those of you that got the Marriott Personal, Business & SPG personal this year. And are at 32 Marriott nights and 10 SPG nights (2, 5 night stays). Does that mean we will have 42 Marriott nights once the program combines? Will we only be 8 nights short of Platinum Elite? If so, have any of you figured out the easiest, most cost efficient way of getting those nights?

I have to book 4 more nights this year, I'll make sure to stay at Marriott properties but I still need a cheap way of getting to 50.

That's what I'm anticipating too. I'm at 28 nights with Marriott from 15 CC anniversary nights and 13 rollover nights. I have 4 nights (3 paid OOP, 1 free ecert night) coming up shortly, and I should get 10 nights from SPG when they combine in August, so I'll be at 42 nights by August.

Remember that award nights count towards elite status too, so if you have award nights planned those will go toward your count. I won't reach 50 nights by August, but have a 7 nt award planned in November so that will bring me up to 49 nights and I'll just need to get one more night before Dec. 31 2018 to get platinum status through Feb 2020. It's kind of funny, out of those 49 nights I will have only paid for 3 nights, the rest came from CC or award stays. Either I'll do a mattress run or spend $3000 on my (old) Marriott card for #50, I'm thinking for me the mattress run would be cheapest.

So I think the cheapest way to get to 50, if you have the points, is firstly to book award nights, then secondly try to find cheap mattress runs to squeeze into long weekends. I'd love to hear any other suggestions too.

Thanks for the tip! How did you enter the delivery address? I was thinking "my name - Res#" under Name and then Pop Century under address 1 and then the street address in address2?

Also did they handle cold items? Was thinking some fruit for DD.

We did Amazon Prime Now to BC. Super easy. I just used the address from the resort boards for each resort. First line was the resort name. Second line c/o my name & conf # and then followed with resort address.

We ordered a ton of cold items...milk, lunch meat, cheese, yogurts, fruit, veggies...everything was stored in insulated bags. Bell services keeps it in the fridge until you pick it up.

This was what I found in my Amazon address book from my last order:

  • My Name-Guest Arrive 8/18
  • C/O DISNEY POP CENTURY RESORT
  • 1050 CENTURY DR
  • LAKE BUENA VISTA, FL 32830-8433
  • United States
  • Phone number: ###-###-####
As @wendow already noted, for cold and perishable items, they are good about using dry ice packs, so everything is nice and cool. And the bag is noted by Amazon as "perishable" or "refrigerate", so bell services knows. After we arrived, and before we even called bell services to ask if we can come pick it up, they were already on their way up to our room to deliver it :)

Just remember in the delivery instructions to note specifically you want it delivered to bell services to avoid the fee the front desk would charge to hold packages :-)

ETA: I didn't put on res # because it's such a specific detail that I don't need too many people to have it. Paranoid perhaps, but someone mentioned that and I agreed that I don't need people having access to my name, phone # and res #, so I used arrival date, and it worked fine for me.

I never noted this with mine...and we have done Walmart, Staples, Amazon and Amazon Prime Now deliveries over the years. We've never had to pay a fee, even at conference resorts. I guess we've just been lucky? Definitely something I will make sure to note in the future though!

Who is your mortgage company? Mine is Chase, I am thinking now way no how could I possibly get that through Plastiq LOL.

My Chase went through the first month using my creative naming strategy. However, they flagged it on month number 2. Same with my Wells Fargo mortgage. Bummer.

It's apparently new-ish and somewhat YMMV based on what I read last year. Some resorts were good about it, others, not so much, according to reports. But never hurts to make note just in case and save the $5 for the mickey bar ;)

Quoting myself for an update...
I got an email saying it is all complete...yet the points are still not showing at marriott. Screen Shot 2018-05-30 at 12.55.27 PM.png
